After 10.7.3 update doesn't see battery. won't charge.

Hi,
I just did the 10.7.3 update via automatic updater. the device, a late 2010 13" air with 2 g 2.17 processer 250g hard drive.
Under the power tab, It does not acknowladge the battery. It does say the charger is attached, but says it is not charging.no lights come on on the charger.
I restarted it and the same thing occurs.
Help!
I have work to do!!

> during the entirety of this process the cursor was a "busy" pinwheel/beach ball/whathaveyou for a solid 30 minutes before I turned the computer off with the power button.
All that cursor means is that it is busy trying to do something.  You can see if force quitting solves the problem with a simple force quit using command-option-escape.  If you are having issues with iCal quitting, sometimes it doesn't always know whether or not it is properly communicating with a particular calendar.  This can be a Mobileme issue, or even a phone synchronization issue, or a network issue reaching a shared calendar.  Shutting down a machine directly from a cursor is the last step one should try, only after all others have failed.  If you have done this in the past, lurking corruption can get worse each time with the directory, and upgrading the system will only enhance any corruption already present.  When you restart your Mac, does everything appear to be normal?

  • Updater doesn't see iPod shuffle

My iPod Shuffle shows up on the desktop. The amber recharge light is blinking. When iTunes opens, I get the following message: "iTunes has detected a software update for the iPod. Would you like to install it now?" When I click "Okay", the updater opens and I get the following message: "An unexpected error occurred". When I click "okay", the updater now tells me to plug in an iPod to update it. My iPod is plugged in and charging, and is on the desktop. When I quit the updater, my iPod does not appear in the iTunes source list.
I then quit and reopened iTunes. This time when prompted regarding the software update, I click cancel. iTunes now opens with my iPod listed in the Source list. However, when I go to add songs to the iPod I get the following message: "Some of the songs in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to www.apple.com/ipod to get the latest iPod software update."
I've reinstalled the updater 3 times now. I got the same results as described above each time. The updater doesn't see the iPod. What is the "unexpected error"? Why doesn't the Updater see the iPod?
Also also - I ordered, received, and installed an Iogear 4 port USB 2.0 pci card, hoping against hope that that would solve the issue. It didn't. I've been working on this since the day after Christmas. The problem seems so uniquely simple, and yet I've never been more frustrated with an Apple product.
Why won't the updater recognize my iPod and allow me to install the software? I personally believe that there is some communications glitch between iTunes 6.0.1, OS 10.3.9, and iPod updater. Any word on new versions coming out of the Apple bat cave?
    Thanks for any help.

I just downloaded the latest updater version, plugged in my iPod Shuffle, and sat in wide eyed amazement as it actually recognized that the iPod was, in fact, plugged into the computer!!!
I held my breath while the updater did it's thing... could this actually be it? Could I finally join the army of gleeful millions, listening to my favorite tunes and newscasts while jogging? Would the wonderful little gift I got for Christmas finally - gulp! - work?
Alas, no. Just as the updater was finishing up I got the following glass if ice water in my face:
"An error occurred updating or restoring iPod. Disconnect iPod, reconnect and then try restoring again. If that does not work, go to http://www.apple.com/support/ipod"
I did that, and noticed that "restoring" was not an option, as the "restore" button wasn't active. Ah well... my iPod shuffle goes back into it's neat little packaging, and back onto the shelf while I await the next round of potential solutions to slowly work their way down to the Discussions Sub-basement.
I swear to God, I will not give up on this. I know it can work. Someday, someday...

Just delete it from the Applications folder, and re-download it.
If it still says installed when you go to Purchased in App Store, click somewhere else, and option-click Purchased. That allows you to redownload already installed software.

yes. i did not covered my phone with any cover. the cpu pressure by ios update crashed the kit! now my phone get back after the kit changed and work finally. i restored my phone to ios 8.2 now.

The iPod touch 5 battery won't charge, the iPod battery gets hot and doesn't turn on...  What is wrong?  Can photos and data be retrieved?

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. I suspect a hardware problem  due to the hotness. If iTunes can't see the iPod then uor only hope if to contact a data recovery company for getting data off the iPod. If you have an iPod backup you can restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from the backup to get the data that was in the backup

  • Battery Won't Charge & Can't Update OSX Beyond 10.4.6

I'm a relatively new Macbook user, so any insight would be helpful.
    Here's my plight:
My battery won't charge, so I called AppleCare and they told me to download the latest FIRMWARE for the battery. (This is after re-setting the battery, and pressing the button located on the BACK of the battery, hoping to get the three-or-four green lights... I'm getting nothing).
I came here and downloaded a battery fix/update - the problem is that the battery fix requires my OS to be 10.4.8.... I have 10.4.6... And I can't log onto the internet (another 'fun' issue) through my Macbook in order to download anything beyond 10.4.6....
So, now, I downloaded 10.4.7 from the apple website, off my Windoze PC, yet when I try to load 10.4.7 on my Macbook, the set-up goes through the motions, then STOPS after I ACCEPT the terms, and tells me that I don't have a (I'm paraphrasing) proper HD to store the updated version.
No more than two months ago I had to get a new HD (after only having my MacBook for six months) and I'm not looking to get another one...
Since the root of my issues stem from me not being able to upgrade... Any thoughts on how to upgrade, even though I can't connect my Macbook to the net?

  • Battery won't charge after 10.8.5 update

I have a mid-2010 white 13" Macbook with battery charges over 1000 cycles (exceeding it's life expectancy, I know).  Despite this, the battery has mantained its charge immaculately.  However, immediately upon updating to ML 10.8.5 the battery will not charge and says "Condition: Replace Now."  I have reset the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM to no avail.  I find it hard to accept that the battery died simultaneously with the software upgrade, leading me to believe that ML 10.8.5 will not support batteries with over 1000 cycles.  Do I have any other options than restoring the old software or purchasing a new battery?
Apparently this guy is having the exact same problems, but there's no solution yet

  • Tried to restore my 20 GB iPod. Now it doesn't work, and won't charge!

I could find no reference to my specific iPod issue in the forums search, so posted a New Topic. Here's the situation.
I was given an older 20GB iPod "Click Wheel" model. I was told it worked, and it would show the Apple logo when you tried to turn it on, but it wouldn't power on when I initally tried, and the battery indicator showed about 15-20%. So, apparently, the battery needed to be charged before it would operate. I borrowed my neighbor's iPod power adapter as they have the same iPod as this one. I plugged it in and the iPod battery immediately started charging, and everything look normal. It took about 4 hours, but it fully charged the battery and the ipod worked great at this point.
I plugged it into my PC, but it apparently had been Apple formated and it said it couldn't be accessed by my PC. The program asked if I wanted to "restore" it factory original settings and the set it up for a PC? Since all of my iTunes are on my PC, I elected to restore it to the factory settings, then use the PC settings. I did this, and everything seemed to go normally with the restore process. Near the end of the restore program, it told me to now unplug the iPod from the USB adapter, and connect the iPod to the power adapter to complete the "restore" process. I did this, only it won't charge the battery now, so it can't complete the restore process! The iPod screen shows an icon directing you to plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. Also, I can no longer access anything on the iPod, and it doesn't turn on. Oh, and now when I plug it in using the USB adapter, it's no longer seen by either my PC or my G4/867. Any help on what happened, and what I can do to correct this issue would be appreciated.

I am having essentialy the same problem, but my iPod came from a PC and is now on a PC. The person who gave me the iPod didn't give me the wall adapter piece, so I bought a "Griffin" brand that was said to be compatible with this model. When I first plugged it into the wall, the Apple appeared with a bar underneath as though it was loading the new software. When the bar got to the end, the "plug into the wall" icon reappeared, but when I plug it in to the wall now, that icon is the only thing that shows, even after resetting and trying to run diagnostics.
When I doc the iPod on a charger I have or plug the USB into my computer and "reset" it, a battery with a charge icon appears, but there is no "motion" in the icon so it doesn't appear to be charging. The screen eventually goes back to the apple then to the "plug it into the wall" icon. HELP!!! Is is possible the wall adapters isn't the right one? Should I be charging through a firewire cable instead (which I also don't have...)?

  • Satellite M200 monitor turns Off after boot & battery won't charge

    Hello, I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (Running Windows 7 Home Premium)
after i press the power button to power up my notebook, It works fine showing BIOS and Windows Boot Screen,
but after that my monitor just suddenly turn off when Windows supposed to show login screen.
sometimes the monitor don't turn off, but shows lower resolution (i don't know exactly what resolution, maybe 1024x768 or 800x600, i'm using 1280x800)
so the only thing i can do is press the power button again to shutdown improperly then press the power again to power up, my monitor works normally
try to shutdown then power up again in couple hours later, the problems comes again.
from the moment i install Windows 7, i use 8.15.10.1930 driver version (downloaded from Intel Download Center, which included Intel TV Wizard)
2 days ago my friend said that i should install the driver from Toshiba's support site, so i went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version from that site (which not included Intel TV Wizard )
my monitor works normally after I installed the driver i've got from csd.toshiba.com, so i think that the problem because Intel TV Wizard somehow messed up with my notebook. But this morning this problem comes again, my monitor just turns off suddenly ..
besides this problem my battery seems like failed to recharge, Windows shows my battery has fully charged, but when i plugged out my AC adapter,
it just remains for 15-20 minutes before my notebook shut down automatically
three months ago i just brought my notebook to local Toshiba Service Center and bought new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA issue too!)
there's something i can do (related to Windows or software/driver) or i have to bring my notebook to the service center again?
are they somehow make a wrong wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am i have to replace my battery pack too?
i've been using this notebook for about a year and half and there's nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard
any help would be appreciated :D

well, i can't find my model's driver in Toshiba Europe site,
in Satellite M series it only shows M100 and M70 and not including M200
i found http://pc.toshiba-asia.com which covering my region. after choosing my product they give me link to download Windows 7 driver, here's the link
    http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/download/Satellite_M200_32_sp.htm
    Windows7 Driver | Intel Display Driver | 8.15.10.1825
they have the same driver version (and same size too) with my current driver i've got from csd.toshiba.com
any other ideas besides the driver issue ?

  • MBP battery won't charge, osx unresponsive after startup

I'm baffled by this. October 26th I received and installed Leopard. No problems occurred during install and any time afterwards until now (besides minor glitches that come with early adoption).
Yesterday evening I let my batter drain to around 15% before going to bed, and didn't plug it in overnight. Usually when I do this, the battery is dead in the morning and I have to plug in my power adapter to start the computer. This morning was no different.
What I didn't notice was that my Battery wasn't charging all day even though my mbp was plugged in. When I unplugged it to go to a meeting, it shut off, which is when I realized it hadn't been charging (even though the adaptor plug showed a green light). I was able to plug in the laptop in the meeting, but it still wouldn't charge.
Now, I'm at home trying to boot my computer (plugged in), but after the startup screen (apple and spinner), it flashes the light blue and immediately goes black. Pressing any keys gives the warning beep sound of an invalid keystroke.
I've Tried booting several times, taken out the battery and checked all the connection points, I've even reset the SMC. If ANYONE is having this issue or has a solution, please assist! Thank you.

Okay, I've reset the SMC (as I already stated) which didn't fix the problem. I then reset the PRAM which DID fix the problem. My computer booted right up and I haven't had any issues so far. However, my batter does not seem to be recharging still. I know there are multiple posts about that so I will defer to those. I hope this helps

  • IPad unresponsive after iOS 8.02 update, doesn't show up in iTunes, hardware reset (home and standby buttons both held down for ten seconds) not working

I have a 32GB iPad mini that was purchased new in June of this year. A little while ago, I started the iOS 8.02 download while it was plugged into a wall socket using an official apple wall to USB plug and an official apple thunderbolt cable. I then left for 25 minutes to get some food.
On coming back, I discovered the iPad with a black screen showing the apple logo. I thought this was just an ordinary part of the update, it was restarting or something after installation, so I thought nothing of it. Then, after another minute or two, the screen flashed blue and then went completely black.
Puzzled, I waited for another second and the apple logo reappeared as if the iPad was restarting again. However, after a few minutes, this happened again. This has been going on for the last half an hour, and I was wondering has anybody experienced this before.
As I stated in the title, it won't show up in iTunes, and the hardware reset or whatever it's called doesn't work. Also, bear in mind I had issues syncing it with iTunes the night before and it also seemed to crash a few times last night, restarting the iPad and bringing it to the blank screen with the apple logo for a few seconds before going to the lock screen. That didn't happen at all this morning though.
The iPad is not jailbroken, however, it does have licenses for gba4iOS, which is still installed on it, and a VPN license installed on it by the Hola app, which I deleted but never bothered deleting the license for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Colin how are you?
I updated my IPAD yesterday and have the exact same problem.
Itunes does not recognize my ipad. Home and standby also doesnt work.
Also have the blue thing every few minutes and the apple logo but it never goes beyond it.
    Have you solved the issue?
