After 10.9.2 mail does not start
I upgraded to 10.9.2 this morning. Mail will not start. I can't get spotlight to work.
There are multiple crashes in the log such as this:
2/28/14 9:50:12.000 AM kernel[0]: CODE SIGNING: process 1495[com.apple.ShareK]: rejecting invalid page at address 0x7fff76e6d000 from offset 0xef4e000 in file "/private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_x86_64" (cs_mtime:1393596217.0 == mtime:1393596217.0) (signed:1 validated:1 tainted:1 wpmapped:0 slid:0)
When I click on the mail icon, it bounces once, then stops and I find this:
2/28/14 9:51:40.000 AM kernel[0]: CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x7fff76e6d000): p=1530[Mail] final status 0x1000a00, denying page sending SIGKILL
Seems very odd to me... I'm using a Macmini5,1 on OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
This just in: when trying to start mail, a Problem Report for Mail window appears, saying:
Mail quit unexpectedly while using the DataDetectors plug-in.
The report was automatically sent to Apple.

user507290Please read the post-installation tasks from the readme doc provided with the patchset zipfile.
Upgrade to a new patchset implies two macro steps :
1. upgrade the binaries for an ORACLE_HOME directory path
2. apply patchset script against all the databases (oracle dictionary inside database) working for the ORACLE_HOME upgraded in step 1.

After Mountain Lion install, Mail does not import
I installed Mountain Lion over a clean installation of Lion. All went well. Entered my AppleID and password, which work fine on my iPhone and MacBookAir. Mail 6.0 (iCloud server) does not import my old mail. iCal and Contacts imported fine. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Under what circumstances does mail "not leave the mails on the server"?
If you mean that you delete them (or move them out of the inbox) on one device and then find them not in the inbox on the server when you look from another device, that's how IMAP is supposed to work. (Note that the deletion or moving might be the result of rules you have set up in Mail.)
If you mean something else, please explain your issue in more detail. -
After upgrade to Maverick Mail does not connect to server to download emails
Since I have had my system upgraded to Maverick I can no longer download emails from my server/provider. Mail asks for the password for the user (me) and when I type it in nothing happens.
There is no problem connecting to my server/provider online, so the server is working ok. My guess is that I am missing some crucial ticked or unticked box in the mail set up. I just don't want to mess around with it without knowing what I need to do. If anyone out there has a solution, pls send a step by step.
Any help appreciated, replies might be slow - like I said, no email alerts of mails getting through at the moment (so have to read everything only when I'm online...).Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. If there's no change, see below.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Everything works fine again.
Maybe I should update my Videobox?
Hope that helps!

59I always recommend migration rather than upgrade installation, for any server when moving across major versions.
That said, please post relevant error messages from your server logs (system and mail),
which you can easily view via the "Console" utility (in Applications/Utilities on the server itself). -
Mail does not see accounts after shutdown but are in Mail Folder
Several days ago upgradeD an iMac from Mac OS 10.5.8 to 10.6.1. After the initial update Mail did not recognize any mail accounts that were in the Mail folder in user/Library. Solved my replacing user folder with one backed up up several days before by Time Machine.
Yesterday upon start-up I noticed that my earlier Time Machine backups were no longer seen by Time Machine however, Mail seemed OK. This morning, upon start-up, Mail again does not recognize any accounts, and I am dead in the water!
The Mail Folder still seems to look OK, but Mail will not input from this folder.
Is there any way without recreating all 8 mail accounts and have Mail rebuild?
I do have daily Retrospect tape backups.
Any help out there?this means that your mail preference file was reset. quit Mail and restore the file /users/username/library/preferences/com.apple.mail.plist from the most recent backup. start Mail and it will recognize its existing accounts and mailboxes. however, something is wrong with your system as this should not be happening with any regularity.

16 GB x-Fi Style - does not start after charging
Hi,
4 weeks ago I bought my x-Fi style and used it during my holidays for 2 weeks. After charging the player only twice (USB-connection with notebook), it now fails starting. Maybe there is an internal temperature fuse to protect from overheating and I only have to wait to try again? After connecting to USB the CREATIVE sign appears but disappears directly and a battery symbol appears and remains on the screen. After disconnecting the player does not react in any way. I already tried to reset but cannot start it again.
Can anyone help me?
Cheers,
UliRe: 6 GB x-Fi Style - does not start after charging:Just fyi
I found the website for Creative to be very frustrating. Not one snail mail address or corporate headquarters info. The link for website feedback didn't work and one other customer service link was a dud. They clearly don't want to be 'bothered' with complaints, or anything positi've for that matter!
But, I searched on the forum and found a three-year-old post about someone who was frustrated with having to carry around a paperclip to always push 'reset' on his X-Fi -- and the light dawned! Didn't know I had one of those. I pressed reset and voila! it is working again. Still had to charge it, but it accepted the charge this time and I was able to finish my book and move on to the next. Now, the next problem is I tried to access my wireless network which has a $ in the password and there is no $ in the choices for entering a password. So, now I have to change the password, change all of my device passwords (Blu-Ray, iPad, laptops(2), friend's laptops, etc. a huge pain. Seems to me they could have included a $ in the choices! -
WebAnalysis does not start after workspace is set on Windows Authentication
I've used [doc Hyperion System 9.3.x Configuring the BI+ Workspace for Single Sign-On (SSO) with Internet Information Services (IIS) [ID 1100096.1] to configure SSO for workspace users. It works fine. Though since then the WA service does not start anymore. The error message which is raised sounds very very familar but still I am not able to tackle it. The message in the log or the analysis console is "[WARN] [STANDBY] ExecuteThread: '1' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' com.hyperion.analyzer.utils.general.HYAUtil - Wait for workspace [
[WARN] Timer-2 com.hyperion.analyzer.utils.general.HYAUtil - ."
I am very sure it had something to do with rights/ permissions, but also after playing around with IIS and ntfs permissions for hours I can't get SSO en WA both working at the same time.
As soon as I set my workspace aplication in IIS on windows integrated, the SSO is working but as soon as a I restart the WA service it fails to start. When I set the workspace application IIS on anonymous the WA service start fine but then the SSO is not working anymore.
It drives me crazy.
Hopefully its a small matter for you to solve!
Thanks in advance.Dont know exactly whats happened but I presume something went wrong during the update procedure.
If you will be not able to start the notebook in the safe mode or to boot the notebook then user the Toshiba recovery CD to gets the notebook working! -
I have a MacBook Pro early 2011. Does not start. After the apple show, a blank screen appear. The service said that the problem is with the video plaquue in the logic board. Need to change. Cost lmmost the same than a new MacBook Pro. Somebody has the same problem? What we can do?
I hate to break this to you, but life isn't fair. If your job is that critically in need of a computer, then you should have a spare to use for just this kind of situation or have your employer provide you with a computer to use.
Computers break down, just like cars. If your car breaks down do you curse the car maker or get it fixed? Surely, you paid more for your car than the computer.
This is reality. Best get used to it because it won't get any better. -
Firefox does not start up after an automatic update. Every time i try to open it, it just prompts the Mozilla Crash Reporter.

Same thing happens when i click restart.
No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
You can see the crash reports in this folder:
"C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
