After 10.9.2 update, https doesn't load web pages through an authenticated proxy

Hi all,
Recently I have updated my MacBook Pro with the 10.9.2 update. The laptop is connected to the company's network with wifi. The proxy was setup correctly to reach internet. After having restarted with this new update, I noticed I couldn't open any web pages with HTTPS. Any browser (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) shows that the web page is charging... but nothing happens... Page status stays in pending.
I got the confirmation from the admin that no change has been recorded on the network configuration. I tested with another MacBook Pro on Lion with my credentials and it did work. Also I double checked by connecting my iphone to the wifi and using the proxy. It worked properly. I could visit any HTTPS websites.
Do you have any idea about the root of this issue and what can I do to fix it?

For some mysterious reasons Sophos Antivirus blocked all https requests. I uninstalled it and now it's cruising pretty well.
The next step is to install it again and set it up properly to make it working with the proxy.

Firefox doesn't load any page after a while.

I'm having problem with firefox while surfing after a while. For example at first 15 minutes , there is no problem , after a while firefox doesnt load any page , i have to close it and reopen it again to make it work. While firefox is not loading , i can use other browsers as normal. It just doesn't load any page at all but the program itself responds so I can close it with X button.What could be the problem , I'm using latest firefox.

I changed the setting, but unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem. This situation does seem to occur more, when I load or reload my eBay home page. I noticed that all data and information would go ahead and load, but the random ads bar would not immediately load and when I would left click anywhere on the page, Firefox would temporarily freeze, the page turns white, Firefox not responding will display, and then the banner would load and everything is fine. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my Flash Player. Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Reggie

Safari doesn't load redirect page

Hi everybody,
I have an activation mail for subscribers.
It contains a link like :

On ipad using safari (and only there) clicking it does the redirection (I can see the correct url on the new tab) but doesn't load the page. It stays blank.
It also appens on ipad simulator.
However using "open in a new tab" or pasting it in url bar works well they're not really userfriendly behaviors.
Has anyone an idea about a workaround ?

If they are pages that contain flash, then as flash isn't supported ( http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ ) your options are limited.
Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

First do the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

Issues loading web pages on brand new machi after using migration assistant

ast week my old macbook pro died and i purchased a new 13" mbp. I brought it home the first day i bought it and just turned it on and started playing with it and the internet was blazing fast, no issues at all. I then brought it back to the apple store where they peformed a migration from my old hdd to my new macbook pro. I then took it back to my dorm and connected to the same exact internet and now i am having problems loading web pages. Sometimes the page will load on the first try (click) and other times it will hang there loading but never fully load the page, and if it does load somewhat certain things are missing from the page. So i have to click the link again, and again, and sometimes again for it to finally load correctly. I dont know what is wrong but i have a feeling it is files from my old system conflicting with new ones when it comes to loading web pages. Everything is up to date the OS and firefox and i am having the same issues in safari. Also my ipad and blackberry have no problem connecting to the wifi so that is not the issue. I really hope someone can help me out because this is really starting to drive me crazy.

After 3.0.4 update, touchstone doesn't charge TP in 3rd party case.

There are a number of users experiencing this. After 3.0.4 update, the TouchPad doesn't charge in teh touchstone while it is in a third party case. Wasn't an issue before under 3.0.2.
Before the distance from teh toushctone surface tolerance was between 10-15mm. Meaning, one could put the TP with case cover folded back and it would still charge. Now the distance tolerance is about 7mm in order to engage tolerance. Some leather cases are thicker than that and therefore cannot charge the TouchPad while in their case.
I suspect that 3.0.4 update lowered the sensitivity or voltage level of the inductor in the Touchpad so as to improve the accuracy compass sensor.
I wish HP would add a simple app to allow the user to manually adjust the sensitivity of the inductor to accomodate a range of cases and scenarios. Some of use could not care about the compass sensor's accuracy as it's not used.
Please fix this or add a way for the user to manually adjust the inductor sensor's tolerance range.

Was just going to post this and seen others experiencing it too. Before the patch could charge my TouchPad in the Targus Truss in portrait mode only - now it flat out refuses to acknowledge the TouchStone even exists while in the case.
Seems even one layer of thickness in the case is enough to stop the TouchStone from charging. Quite annoying as I rather not keep swapping it in & out of the case just to charge it. Only bought the TouchStone because it would charge with a case on.
I have cats, and the case is needed. With the flap open it keeps the occasional tail drag from tipping the TouchPad over. Now am worried.
If HP made a decent charging cable, one that would not wiggle up and down to allow adequate charging then I could just use the cable and the USB cord.

After today latest update Firefox doesn't load Mafia Wars (on Facebook), but it loads other web sites. Chrome loads it alright.

I can't load Mafia Wars from Facebook, neither from Zynga directly. Only think I get is a blank page.
I downloaded and installed latest Java and Flash to no avail.

This issue exists for me on a clean installation of Windows 7 64bit running Firefox 7.0.1 with all addons disabled and the cache cleared out. Even with additional cleaning using CCleaner the problem persists.
This problem also exists on my work Win7 64bit box running Firefox 6.0.2 and Windows XP Pro SP3 running Firefox 7.0.1.
My roommates who run Windows Vista are unaffected.

Can't update mysql records from a web page

Hi everybody,
I am beginning with Dreamweaver CS5.
I followed a video tutorial on how to visually design a data entry/update web page for a mysql database using server behaviors.
My problem is that I was able to insert records and see inserted records but when I try to update a record it doesn't work.
I don't get any error message, it just redirects me to the listing page as it's supposed to but doesn't take into account the changes I made.

Opening a new page via "open in new tab" doesn't load new page anymore

I have been using firefox for a long time now because I love it's option of opening in a new tab while staying on the tab I am currently using.
Recently, over the last week or so, when I open a link using a new tab, the page doesn't load in the new tab. It's just thinks and thinks and finally shows that the page is open, but the page is actually blank.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

Safari is extremely slow loading web pages, i have to latest software, no updating needed

Safari is really slow loading internet pages and uploading images. I have the latest software update. I just purchased this mac book pro within the last 3 months..just frustrating that it's already this slow so soon....Any suggestions? I called tech support and nothing they walked me through helped. He was going to reinstall everything but I wanted to wait and see if there was anything else I could possible do before considering I just got this notebook, I hate to reinstall everything. It seems like there should be a simpler solution...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
