After 2.2 update my phone vibrates when I turn it off

Hi: After the 2.2 update, when I turn off my phone it vibrates. It used to play my notification "Moonbeam". I have gone to 'settings" & turned off the vibrate & the phone still vibrates when I turn it off. I hate that feature. Also the google bar is showing on my husband's home screen & get get it off either.
Can anyone help with these issues.

I've got a different phone. I never had an option to set a musical tone for when my phone turns on. My phone always just vibrates when it comes on even if it is set to silent. Can't find a way to change it either.

The best thing to do is log one out of the shared Apple ID being used and then create a new one.
You can also go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure only the phone number is checked.

Basic troubleshooting steps in the following order.
1. Reset. Press and hold both Power and Home Buttons together till Apple Logo appears.
2. Restore to a backup.
3. Backup, Restore in iTunes and setup as new.

Then you will need to update to iOS 5.1.1 as outlined above. I regret to learn of any issues after the software update. Let's check some things out on your phone! Does the text message say who it came from? Is it a contact you message on a regular basis? Are you using the messaging application that came with the device, or a 3rd party application?
I recommend deleting any unneeded messaging threads and then powering the device off/on. Keep me posted!

try to edit your host file ang delete any line that contain gs.apple.com

I believe from the situation you describe your iPhone 3g has the iPAD baseband 6.15.00 which is interfering with iTunes. Remember Apple does not allow downgrade of software typically. The current 3g firmware 4.2.1 has a baseband 5.15.04 which is lower than, what I believe your baseband is of 6.15.00. So to install the current 3g firmware 4.2.1 would actually be a baseband downgrade, which iTunes will not allow. So to fix your iPhone you will have to search the Web like diesel vdub said. There are no parts to buy and your iPhone will work again I promise.

why do you say it's not normal.
it always switches itself on after i update. it just did again, this time for 7.1.2.. i t also will switch on after a restore.
i never use bluetooth and make sure it's not on for any other reason.
it's been noticed by others too.

Hold the home and power button down until your phone restarts. If that doesn't work, backup and restore using iTunes.

What shows under Settings>Messages>Send & Receive>Start new conversations from? Is your number ticked rather than your email address?

That leads me to suspect that your cellular data is either turned off or not working.
Check Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data and ensure it is ON.
If it is, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If neither of those resolves the issue, contact the carrier to troubleshoot your network/account issues with them.
