After 2 click my ipod touch freezes only works if playing song

after 2 clicks to my ipod touch freezes and stops responding. i will have to wait for the battery to die and recharge it to turn it back on.but if i clik it againg it will do the same againg. the only way it would respond and not freez is if im playing a song.if im luck to even get to that .befor it freezes.could anyone help me fix this problem?

Have you tried the standard fixes in order:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Retore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

My 32 gb iPod Touch has this problem where it will simply refuse to play some songs. It will very briefly display the song/album art and then move on to the next one in the playlist. These same songs work fine in iTunes. I have the latest software/firmware/etc. Any ideas?

My iPod touch has the same problem with songs that I have ripped from a CD into iTunes. When these songs pop up in a playlist, it hangs and is unresponsive. I try to skip to the next song, it takes 10 seconds (not an exaggeration) and then skips correctly.
I have re-ripped the songs, reset and restored my iPod touch, and verified that the songs play in iTunes and my 1st Gen Nano. There is nothing wrong with the songs, only the iPod Touch playback.

8GB IPod Touch Will Only Hold 1,000 songs

I have an 8GB IPod Touch and it will hold only around 1,000 songs. I have nothing else on it. Some of the music was downloaded from ITunes, and some downloaded from CDs. According to Apple specs, the 8GB iPod can hold up to 2,000 songs, up to 7,000 photos, up to 8 hours of video, or some of each.
Any thoughts?

if you use higher bitrated tunes, they will be bigger in size and use more space.

Ipod touch 5th gen will not play songs correctly

So I got a new ipod touch 5th gen for christmas. When I put songs into a playlist and play them they dont always play in the correct order, or sometimes they dont play at all. I had no problems with it the first week I had it but then all of a sudden it didnt play the music correctly. It will skip one song and then play another song a second time in place of it.   Then sometimes it will randomly skip the last bit of a song and go to a different one but when I go in and look at the songs being played it says its still playing the song that it decided to skip. It also will play the songs in a different order than what I put them in along with the previous problems listed ocurring. Please let me know if theres anything I can do to fix this or if I should send it in to apple or maybe even take it back and exchange it for a different one. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!!!

Ipod touch is slow to start playing songs, and skip songs

Ever since I downloaded the last OS update, my ipod touch has been very slow when I press on a song title to start playing it. Similarly, it is slow to skip over songs. There is now a 1-2 second delay after I touch it to when it starts playing.
Why is this happening? Has this happened to other updated ipod touches?

Have you done a reset? How about a restore? Either one of those should take care of what you are seeing.

Wifi on my iPod Touch 2g only works in certain instances

I noticed about a week ago that my iPod was not connecting to the internet in any of my apps. I loaded up Safari and it seemed to work fine (it loaded google), and I also checked my mail, which also worked fine. I disconected and reconected to my router a couple of times but the problem persisted. Upon further inspection, I realized that while it seemed like Safari was working, it was actually loading up the google page from last month when the google banner had the black slab over it to protest SOPA. Anyway, I tried going to other sites and it could not load anything that it had not recently cached. So I don't really think Safari works either.
To sum up:
Mail still works, App Store still works
Pretty much everything else does not work.
This seems like a fairly strange problem given that the ipod can still connect and can clearly access the internet in certain instances. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you very much for the help. After following your instructions, I was able to get Safari working again. I also think I figured out where the problem was coming from: after I got safari working I opened up the "This American Life" app which I bought around a week ago (when the problem started). It seems to crash whenever it tries to access the internet and then subsequently breaks safari for some reason. I had to reboot my ipod again and follow your instructions to get safari working again. Anyway, thanks again for the help. I'm guessing the only thing that I can do about the app is email the creators.

My iPod touch is only a year old, and it won't work properly.

About a year ago I got a refurbished iPod touch. It worked fine for a while. Then one day the screen stopped turning sideways and I got used to that it was ok I could use the iPod for music without a sideways screen. But now it is just going crazy. I'll turn it on and be listening to music or watching Youtube videos for a little bit and it will do a combination or all of these things:
-The screen with go white and it will take a really long time to restart itself and go back to the black screen with the apple on it.
-I will randomly lose internet connection and I'll have to restart the iPod to get it back
-The iPod will keep bringing up the sliding thing that asks me if I want to turn it off
-The screen will turn black for a second and go back to the locked screen. It will keep flashing and when I press the home button it will take a screenshot of my locked screen. (The picture appears in the photos section of my iPod. I didn't even know iPod could take screenshots! I don't have any cameras or photo equiptment on my iPod.) My on/off button will stop working and the screen will keep flashing and turning off randomly until it either turns white or resets itself.
-(This one happens every time) My speakers have stopped charging and working with my iPod. They worked fine before! I don't know if it's the iPod or the speakers:(
All these happen randomly and have gotton worse over the days. I can still kind of use my iPod but it is definetly a struggle. As far as I know, it is not a problem with my battery. The battery works fine and charges normally but only when I connect it to my laptop.
What do you think? Is it time to get a new iPod or can I fix it somehow? I know the newer iPods cost a lot so I would like to keep this one as long as possible because I like it and it wasn't a lot of money. I really hope I don't have to ask for a new one they cost a lot but as I read this over it sounds like fixing it may cost more then just buying a new one.......
And by the way how long do the newer iPods typically last? If I'm going to get a new one I want to make sure it isn't crappy and won't die on me after one year.

Typically they work OK until:
- They break because of misuse like dropping
- The battery dies
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If after you charge it for about three hours and it only last about five minutes the battery is probably dead or there could be another hardware problem. I would go back to the Apple store and ask them specifically how can it be OK if the fully charged battery only lasts five minutes.

Try to reset your iPod and then deauthorize and reauthorize your computer, then sync the iPod again.
To reset the iPod touch just hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see an Apple logo appear.
You can deauthorize the computer from the iTunes Store menu.

Wi-Fi won't work after upgrading to iPod Touch ver 3.1.3

That is what i've notice after upgarding to iPod touch (ver. 3.1.3) and iTunes (ver. 9.0.3). I lost my WIFI connection, i used to connect to free WiFi hotspots, but now can't do, previously i have the (ver. 3.1.2) and run pretty good. What happen to this? Apple should take action for this.

Well since 3.1.3 had absolutely nothing to do with WiFi, this is truly a random occurrence. Try the following:
- For home use, reboot your router (just remove the power)
- on the touch, reset the network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Connections
BTW, you are not talking to Apple here. We are all users just like you.
