After 5.1.1 sticky home?!?!

After the update, my home doesn't work half the time. iPhone 4 by the way. I do hard reset, still same story. I have to "click" it multiple times in order to get anywhere. Some days its worse than other, then some days my phone acts perfect as always? Just curious to know if any are having this same issue? And if so, is it from the update? Home button is "tight" clicks as if it were brand new.

Thanks vdub! What are the chances of them fixing the issue and if not.... What will they have to do about it? Would it be a dropping the phone off and waiting for several days for a repair or a new phone possibly? I have had every iPhone and have never had any issues. This will be a first. I do have apple care. Thanks!

Yes, this is activation lock. Return the phone for a refund, as it is useless without the activation information of the previous owner.

The -50 in that context can indicate damage to your Apple Application Support. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are stashed.) So I'd first try a repair install of your Apple Application Support.
Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove programs control, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Does the repair install go through okay? If so, does your iTunes start launching again?

SP 2010 - Getting "An unexpected error has occurred. " message when accessing Sharepoint site after windows update - Windows 7 Home Premium

I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.

Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

I have an ipod touch that just recently started to be unresponsive! It had a good amount of battery left and then all of a sudden it turned off and now will not turn back on even after 30mins of charging. no charging screen has appeared either. ive held down both the home n sleep buttons for 10secs or more and still nothing has happened. then i held down just the home button. still nothing and then i tried holding down the sleep/wake button for a couple seconds and still nothing has happened are there any other ways of turning my ipod back on or did it **** the bed and i should get a new one? thanks

Just used the recovery discs on my Sat Pro A10, no problem with sound, and then upgraded XP Home to SP2, no sound.
From what I have read elsewhere, this is a problem, and there doesn't appear to be an answer. I have spent hours searching for updated drivers to no avail.
I have also contacted Toshiba support, after much huffing, and puffing they pointed me to the following driver, 5.12.01.3542, which is the same as the one I already installed, and does not work.
Surely there must be something out there that works.

Slow basic GUI operations in After Effects, mouse clicks 'sticky'

Hi guys,
I've been experiencing very lacklustre performance from the After Effects interface, in any project larger than a few title cards.
By that I mean just dragging keyframes, reordering layers, selecting options from context menus, etc.
Sometimes, the clicks become very delayed and sticky, to the point when layers get moved by accident, dragged items get dropped and nested, all sorts of mess.
I never use raytraced 3d, and generally work quite tidy - eg not enabling motion blur till last, working at low preview res. "Hardware Accellerate windows" enabled. Not using mercury transmit. No multiprocessing. Not much else running on the system apart from some basic stuff like AV, google drive, Bit Torrent sync etc.
Drivers always at latest.
I'd consider my machine to be more than up to the task, so wondered if anyone has any pointers in general, where to start investigating.

Dell Precision based system:
2x 6-core Xeon 2.6 (12 physical, 24 logical cores)
24 gb ram
GTX 670 driving 30" hp at 2650x1600
128gb Samsung 850 pro SSD exclusively for ae cache.
3x 15k RPM sas drives in R0 as system drive.

I assume you have connected it to a power source to recharge the battery.
Otherwise, be sure you have done the following completely...
Reboot the device.
Shut down the device by holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting

After Archive and Install, my Home folder is not quite right....

I did an A&I last week and am slowly getting it back to the way it was (minus the problems) but am wondering if my Home Folder has all it should- it seems like it should have more in it so I am just double checking. In my Home Folder I have these items: Desktop, Documents, Library, Movies, Music, Pictures, Public and Sites. No Users folder.....And my Pictures folder just has a folder, it doesn't list my libraries nor does it have my Reunion Pictures folder in it (my genealogy software- it was stored there before and after the A&I) but it's not there now. I see that if I do a Finder search, typing in Reunion Pictures it directs me to my HD--->Users--->Home Folder--->Pictures and it comes up and I see them BUT I don't see it listed in the Pictures folder nor my other 5 libraries. So something is wrong and I need to get this set up right. Can anyone please help me straighten out this mess? I really, really appreciate the help and guidance, Judy

A short addendum: If I right-click on the Pictures folder, to highlight Show Contents, it's all listed there but I don't think I should have to do that. Plus, my Users folder isn't in my Home Folder (in the Finder, my "little house" is there and if I highlight I get just that short list of things but no Users Folder- should it be there? Or is it supposed to reside on the HD? Sorry, I am rambling. j

What's one to do after restoring an iPhone outside home?

Okay.. so some of you may have seen that I posted a thread about getting hit with the white apple logo of death after just moving icons around, and I thought to myself, well I'd rather not have that happen to me.. but thanks to Apple's buggy-*** software (or a 3rd party app which could have caused that too), I'd rather not have some half-arsed backup saved on a work machine or my laptop which I take with me everywhere.. okay so to give you a bit of a scenario:
I have a desktop at home where I do all my phone synchronising (iMac), and I also have a MacBook Pro which I take with me everywhere.. One plan I considered was to keep a back up of contacts, apps, and music on the laptop same as to what I have on my desktop at home (so that WHEN my phone will **** itself I could then restore it to something temporary to keep me through the day), OR what if I was to copy/pasta my backup folder from my iMac which is on
User/Home/Library/Application Support/MobileSync
Has anyone here happened to have tried that? copy over those backup files to another mac or pc, and say try to pick up the backup on an authorised machine?
Be curious to know what you folks use as a backup plan (no pun intended).. or do most of you just not care so much about that?

Well, I finally found out what was going on. Apparently iCloud was stuck trying to recover the back up. So I stopped it and restarted again and it's working fine now.
As for the battery, it seems to be improving each day and I'm quite happy with it.

See if installing the XP audio driver works...
Download and run this driver. If it automatically installs the audio, great. If not...close out of any error windows.

Go to the device manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
The select Have Disk and browse to: C:\SWSetup\sp33443\CPL30A5a and select the Conexant High Definition Audio from the list and see if the driver installs.
Then reboot.

Sticky Home Key

My wife did this to my laptop a few months ago and now the CTRL key sticks like mad.
2 days ago I had my iPod Touch in my hand and with the same hand picked up a juice box that was sitting in the car all day. Of course it exploded and got orange juice on my screen. Not thinking anything of it since it was isolated to the screen protector I only tried cleaning the goo off the next morning. It was only than that I realized that a small amount of juice seeped into the home key, causing it to stick periodically.
I know this could have been avoided if I would have cleaned up the mess sooner, but it is too late for that. Everything still works, but the key is sticky at times. If it is anything like my laptop it will get worse as time passes.
Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ya it probably gets worse because the stickiness starts to accumulate dirt, hairs, and other debris.
It is hard to say how to clean it. One thing about juice is that if it is a small amount it probably dried in a very localized spot. So while normally you can wash off electronics with pure water (de-ionized) or isophoric alcohol (not rubbing alcohol), this assumes you can wash the stuff AWAY and in the case of using water be able to leave everything open to dry out.
In your case, you may risk spreading the stickiness to more parts of the Touch if you drip in a little water or alcohol to dilute it and wash the area and may not dry out well if you do this without opening up the Touch.
So there are things I could suggest, but you may only end up making it worse or moving the problem from one area to another.
Is the Touch in warranty?

IPod Touch won't reset even after holding down power and home button

My kid was playing the Very Hungry Cat App and all of a sudden the screen went white on my iPod Touch 4th Gen 32gb.
I tried holding down the Sleep/Wake button + the Home button for ten seconds and it just stayed white. I tried plugging it into my computer and the computer doesn't recognize it was plugged in. Lastly I tried doing the 3 second sleep hold, add 10 second hold on the home button, then release sleep and hold the home for another 20 seconds and it didn't work.
I'm currently letting it sit there hoping the battery dies and that works.
Anyone else have any ideas?

You are doing the ony thing you can. That let the battry fully drain. After charging for an hour try the reset, conncting to computer and placing in recovery mode. If still white then you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the gensiur bar of an Apple store is in order.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep/on/off and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

After 5.1.1 sticky home?!?!
