After 7.0.6 upgrade Icloud email "Cannot Connect To Server".  All other email works fine.

After upgrade to 7.0.6 both IPad and iPhone now will not send or receive Icloud email while at home. Get "Cannot connect to server " message.   All other email accounts (google, verizon) work fine.  Plus the "last backup" information unavailable as well as icloud storage information.  Says unavailable, try again later.   Also cannot view body of emails sent or received in the last 2 days.   I am at work now and all works normally.   If this is a wifi issue, I I do not understand why all other email accounts are sending receiving ok.  It's only the Icloud server that seems to be the problem.

    Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
    Restart your iOS device.
    Delete the affected email account from your device.
    Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.

    If you are having issues with getting email from one of your email accounts, take a look at the article below to resolve most issues with the Mail app on your iPhone.     Try This...
    Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
    Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
    Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
    This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
    If the issue persists...
    Delete the Email Account and then Re-add it.

    I just purchased through verizon Iphone 4s and I kept getting the following message when trying to receive mail;
    "cannont connect to server"
    Everything looks like it is set up correctly.
    I have wi-fi turned on and I turned it off and now it connects.  Is this how icloud mail works? (with w-fi turned off)

    Same problem. I just tried switching wifi off and then the iCloud mail worked. Trouble is I have the same problem on my iPad and I need to use wifi for that. Can anyone help?

    Yes, but check 2 things,
    1. That it is setup as Imap (POP is possible but is not the default) and 2 that you have not created any local folders that house mail from the Imap account, if you did then you must export them before removing the account.
    What do you mean by verify both passwords? You mean imap and smtp?
    I assume I should be using the application specific password in my mail settings?

    Not sure what happened, but yesterday all inbox emails were suddenly gone.  Only have email from yesterday after 3 till now.  I checked preferences and couldn't find anything wrong.  Please help - I'm one of those people that had over 5000 emails in my inbox and used them as reference.

    Choose Mailbox > Rebuild.
    For IMAP accounts, locally cached messages and attachments are discarded and the messages and attachments are downloaded again from the server to your computer. Your mailbox appears empty until the download is complete.

  • I have a mac book air where in when i delete an email the sender ids from all other emails disappears and then again appears in a few seconds.

    I believe you have a failing GPU (aka Video Card). Run AHT and see what it tells you. Do not be afraid to run it up to three times in succession if at first it does not detect an error (sometimes errors that are caused by overheating will not show up until the computer is stressed enough - repeating AHT will do that).
    As an aside - the MBA was not designed to take the place of a desktop. If you are powering your MBA by leaving it permanently attached to the thunderbolt port on the monitor you are shortening your battery life.

  • Cannot synch ipod to itunes, other devices work fine

    One of my 3 ipods wont synch to itunes. I've gone thru the help/diagnostics. The device is detected and passes device connectivity tests but fails device sync tests "no ipod found." The test notes even show the device is working properly. When I hit synch, i get the windows pop up for an external device, it goes away before I do anyhting, it comes back again, and then the ipod attempts to synch but stops after a few seconds. I have the latest version of itunes 10.1.2. The device has space and plays correctly, it just isnt synching. The other nano and i touch work fine pulling in recently purchased tunes and songs. All of the playlists dont come over correctly but I can live with that. Would restoring the ipod help? Other ideas? Note, I recently moved my music library to this PC. I used music rescue to convert the tunes on this device back into itunes songs.

    Sorry no answers but having similar issue with my son's nano. We got a replacement and was able to sync and now it's not recognizing it. Looking for ideas.

    Does the iPod see the network? Error message? Does the iPod connect to other networks?

  • Cannot open favourites using the Firefox tag that usually opens up the menu and a new page.. Now I get the dropdown menu but cannot open a new page, losing the homepage every time I explore, can you say WHY? all other versions worked fine!

    I cannot open a new page from the Firefox favorites menu, it worked before in other versions and this new 5.1 version, but stopped working a few days ago, uninstalled, downloaded a fresh program.. same problem exists. I usually leave my 'Home Page' as a stable page and just open 'new' pages for i.e. Google, Internet Banking etc. the '+' sign on my home page or other loaded pages does not operate, hate having to now constantly sign in to my hotmail home page if and when I open new pages, can you help?

    Starting a few weeks ago... every time I delete an email, Thunderbird acts like it's crashing and takes 30 seconds or so to delete and email, then returns to normal operation. There is no slowness during any other operation.
