After 7.1.1 update I cannot get on wifi

My phone was connected to wifi until i updated to 7.1.1 i check my brother's phone
Just in case that my house wifi isnt working but my house wifi was perfectly fine please

I always do a hard reset after I run an update.  Its kind of like rebooting a PC after installing new software.  It clears all the stuff in memory, and does a low level network reset.
If this hadn't worked for you, you could have done a Reset Network Settings reset, Settings => General => Reset => Reset Network Settings.
This really clears and resets the network settings on the phone.  You will have to log into and enter passwords for any saved networks you have used, but this usually helps with wifi connection problems.
Worst case you would need to reset your router.  Even if another iDevice is connecting fine.  Apple's wifi on iPhones, and iPads is notoriously twitchy and often times just resetting the router will do the trick.

    Also, if you used TinyUmbrella or Recboot as unauthorized apps to help with the update they corrupted your network settings on your computer. You will have to edit your hosts file and remove all references to Apple servers.

    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

    Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Sorry about the caps!! My coworker had 14 updates and was trying to do them all at once. So she unchecked some and started updating a few @ a time and it worked, but my other coworker only has two updates and it looks like its installing. Then after she restarts her computer the updates still show. We.re all working on MAC OS X 10.6.8. Do you have any suggestions?

    The configure bar gets about an 1/8 full and then just does nothing. I think its lists the update as combo update? cant remember with out checking.
    I have tried to do the disk verify and repair but this has made no difference.
    Please let me know what i need to do, I have reformatted the mac just to start over as was clogged with a lot of useless data, I had installed lion (10.7) from the app store previously and now cant seem to find a way to re install lion. I hope I dont need to pay for it again?

    If you erased your hard drive, you'll need to reinstll OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to access the App store. You won't have to pay for OS X 10.7 Lion again. Did you try booting to the recovery partition by holding the command and r keys down? If that's still there, you can reinstall OS X 10.7 from there.
    If you're looking to install the current iTunes, you need OS X 10.6.8 at a minimum.
    If you're still trying to update OS X 10.5 Leopard, you can download the combo update from here.  Download, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, apply the update, then repair permissions again. That will take you to OS X 10.5.8.

    When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
    Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

    I have trouble with sending e-mail and syncing e-mail. Try changing to 1 day sync under settings. It's sluggish but it works for me until they resolve the issue. MS claims all is normal. If you still have a problem you should report it here: https://status.live.com/report/hotmail

  • Since last update, I cannot get an email account on my iPhone that I previously worked fine. Any suggestions?

    Re iPhone 5: Since IOS 8 8.0.2 update, I cannot get email from 1 of the 2 email accounts (which is from the same internet provider).  They use the same imap and smtp ports.  Is that a problem? Or is it IOS? No problems previously.  I can get both emails on iPad and Mac Air. 

    I reset by pressing power and menu button at same time  until I saw the apple. Did not help.  Deleted then added account back. Did not help. Next deleted account, reset again, added account back.  Still does not work:( any other suggestions?

  • NB305 - Cannot get a WiFi connection

    Bought a new NB305 today. Set it up (seemingly) OK, but I cannot get a WiFi connection.It recognises my home network, but will not connect. Troubleshooter etc. cannot solve it.
    I can connect using a T-Mobile dongle though.
    The netbook is running Windows 7 Starter and I have a Belkin F5D8632-4 v1 router. Is there possibly a compatibility issue between Windows 7 and the router? I have checked the wireless drivers on the netbook and both are latest versions.
    Having spent the last hour or so searching through this forum and others, and tried various things I am now at a loss.
    Any ideas?

    In my opinion there shouldnt be a compatibility issue between Windows 7 and your router. Normally you can connect to router with every operating system.
    So it would be interesting to why you cant connect. Are you prompted for WLAN password and are you using the right one?
    Maybe you did activate the MAC address filter on router so you have to allow the MAC address of NB305 firstly before you can connect.
    Have you tried a firmware update for router?

    Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
    Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
    Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
    Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
    You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
    BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

    If you have an iTunes backup that includes the photos you may be able to extract them from the backup using a 3rd party utility such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

    This is very frustrating.  After upgrading to 10.8.3  i cannot get my emails.  I have seen people with the same issue however no one has answered them.  I have googled, binged, yelled, cried, laughed and I got nothing!  If anyone have finally got a fix please let me know!
    I have gone into both my outgoing AND incoming settings.  I have rebooted, closed mail, reopened mail.  I have gone into the system prefrence and closed icloud from there.  I have done everything except throw the laptop across the room!  grrrrrr help!
