After a manual failover , getting back the old primary to work

Hi All,
i am testing some DG features
i did a manual failover by shutdown abort the primary and amek the physical standby as the new primary.
now suppose my clients work for 1 day on the new primary , and i want to get back the old primary to be a primary again
Do i need to create a new db from the new primary and switchover , any other shorter way to do it ?

I think that is the best method.Using RMAN create a new standby database on the previous primary server and the do a switchover to it.If the database is not too big you can go for schema level exp/imp or (expdp/impdp) depending on the oracle version you are using as you haven't mentioned it.But, then you will have to create a new standby database later and moreover, there could be loss of some data.

I recently had to have everything on my harddrive moved to an external harddrive by the Geek Squad. Subsequent to that, I purchased six new songs from Itunes, and downloaded them to my Ipod. When I did that, all 126 of my old songs were wiped out. However, Itunes still shows all of the old, as well as the new songs. How can I access the "older" songs so that I can then add them back to the newer songs?

I found a few articles that can help you out. Depending on what version of iTunes you're using, check out either:

You can set up your iPod for automatic or manual syncing, and depending on which option you choose the process will be different. Either route you choose, by following those directions you should be able to get both your older songs and the newly purchased ones onto your iPod.

Getting back the old camera roll view

Ok, so I don't have time for this BS. But apple obviously has no interest in taking any responsibility for their desicions, or in their users' views, and hence I am referred to this user forum.
How do I get back to the old camera roll view? I'm not interrested in having apple sort my photos for me, the way the latest update seems to have forced on me. I want to be able to see all my photos in one continuous stream, like before. How do I accomplish this?

There seems to be two of us in total, who are frustrated about this... I can´t believe it... This is the most obnoxious change apple has made in a loooong time. And there is NO way of contacting them directly about it. It seems that speaking to customers is simply beneath their dignity, unless you have purchased a new product very, very recently and still qualify for their precious support. They obviously don´t care even the least about the potential negative consequences for their customers of the updates they more or less impose on us. Do they have some kind of policy that goes something like this: "We are Apple, and we are so completely full of ourselves that it´s beyond comprehension. Do NOT bother us with questions about our recent software updates!! We don´t care about you enough for that!! We know that we have a solid customer base anyway, so if you are disappointed with us in any way, that´s just too bad for you. If you need help, even if a change we made without consulting you is the cause of that need for help - ask another Apple product user, NOT US!!! We have better things to do!!"I´m so infuriated right now that I´m about to hurtle my iPhone to kingdom come. WEAK, Apple!!! Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Yeah, there have always been skins for iTunes. Some are oart of themes others are just replacement rsrc files which you drop in the resource folder of iTunes. Check out:

Does anyone else find that the new firefox 4 sucks? How do I get back the old one?

I upgraded to the new firefox 4 and I HATE it... I tried to uninstall it, and lost all my bookmark tabs, and then I tried to install the old firefox but couldn't, it only allows me to use the new one, which is also slowing down my laptop big time! Has this happened to anyone else?

I've not had any problems with Firefox 4 being slower, but I've never been so disappointed with a program in years. I went back to 3.6.16 and it's much more stable. I'm an attorney and use the Bankruptcy Court websites daily--literally, hourly--and 4 crashes on them repeatedly, will not download mailing matrices, will not print claims registers, or literally do ANYTHING as well as 3.6 did. If a browser won't do that, then it's worthless to me. We HAVE to have stable programs, and everything now in the Federal courts nationwide has to be electronic filing. I've tried all the tricks I know (and I've been a computer user and builder ever since Win 3.1) and nothing saved it. I finally uninstalled 4, did NOT offload my user profiles, and they all picked up again on 3.6.16. I don't plan on going back to 4--ever.

Is there anyway to get rid of siri and get back the old voice command?

I have found siri to be really useless. The server based approach just isn't ready for prime time. Is there a client based alternative. I am really only concerned with being able to voice dial my phone while using blue tooth in the car. Other aspects of voice would be nice, but siri is just too in accurate.

If you are running v10.7 Lion, try disabling the "resume" feature...
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac.

I have an old version of Firefox on my Mac G4, but am scared to use that machine in case that Firefox also automatically updates itself. How can I transfer a copy of that older version of Firefox (from the G4) to the Intel Mac, and how do I stop both versions from then automatically updating? How do I then remove the updated version of Firefox from the Intel Mac, which I cannot use? Thank you for your help.

I find the 8/12 tiles (If pressed Ctrl+scrollwheel down) annoying, is there any way the get the classic "new tab" page with 9 tiles back?

You can't delete an Apple ID, all you can do is stop using it. You can delete the iCloud account associated with an Apple ID, but this does not delete the ID, just the account. And yes, you should be able to set the iCloud account back up using that ID.

If you had the hard drive from the original machine, a backup of the same, an iPod with the media, or a subscription to iTunes Match then there would have been hope, but alas no.

Sorry your pictures are gone.
you should be doing this for all your pictures/videos http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 that way you can sync it back via itunes.
