After a power outage my imac will not let me log in to the adminstrator, it just comes back to the log in screen

We had 3 power outages in quick succession and now my imac will not let me log in, it just comes back to the log in screen.

If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

That is a hardware issue that will be covered under warranty if the machine is a 2012 or later iMac. Bring it into your closest Apple Store or AASP for repair.

Restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. How you do this is when you hear the startup tone hold down the Shift Key until you see the progress bar appear. Let it fully boot, then open System Preferences - Startup Disk and ensure your internal HD is selected and then click Restart to test. If you still don't have luck you should run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, you may need to run the test 2-3 times to report any errors. To run AHT you will need teh ORIGINAL Install Discs that shipped with the computer. Instructions for AHT are in:

The main differences that can cause a problem are scripting additions (64-bit vs 32-bit and security reasons) and the usage of dates (it is not as forgiving). AppleScript itself is basically the same, so if empty paragraphs are what caused your problems the update would have just been a coincidence.

Time Machine will not let me restore from recent backups. I can see them on the external drive but will not restore sooner that June of 2013! Any suggestions?
All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

I just updated my iPhone 6 to IOS 8.3. My safari will not let me search anything. If I type in a website URL, the Go button is greyed out. If I type in something to search on google, I press Go and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I was in the middle of the new update and it said there was a error and now my ipod touch will not turn on or off or anything it is just a picture of the apple.

KristyError 11 is a strange one...if you search the discussions for error 11 you will get a number of hits but none with a real resolution other than getting the iPod to restore, which you have done. And one person indicates this does not appear in the support data base...already found that out.
If you have restored, have a backup and can restore from that, you might try the update again, or wait for the next update whenever that comes out.

My iPad will not charge and every time I charge it. It comes up with the iTunes icon and I will not charge, it is not a new I pad and the same charger I use for the I pad I use for my I phone and it will charge. What is wrong?
What exactlyare you seeing on the iPad's screen ? If it's the iTunes icon and a cable then that means that it's gone into recovery mode - you will need to connect it to your computer's iTunes and you should be able to use that to reset it back to factory defaults and you can then restore/resync your content to it.

Don't know how it happens. Have you signed in successfully with your Apple ID in App Store or iCloud? Is your iPad connected to network?
You should make sure that your iPad is connected to a stable network. And then you should type in the correct Apple ID password. -

I can't get my old card off iTunes acct,keeps saying billing issue ..well the card was cancelled bc it was stolen..and they will not let me delete it they want a NEW CARD ON FILE..NO I NOW KNOW I DON'T NEED A CREDIT CARD FOR THE FREE APPS ECT. SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM.?I did my daughters w.o. Credit card but they won't let me have same option on iPad 1 I guess I should try from of but idk if it'll make difference,also they apple won't let me update any of my apps..WTH? And one more question how do I take ( uninstall app/ games ) from iPad? I got free games from app store and after three levels u get into games then they want u to purchase the rest of the game? After installing an update my iMac will not start
I have an old iMac purchased in Feb '06 Intel 2 GHz 20" . It serves some basic needs and I enjoy the machine. Recently I was notifyed of an available update from Apple and I downloaded it and installed it. The machine now comes up to a white screen with the Apple logo in the center and a spinning pinwheel beneath. I have attempted to force it to a recovery disk, safe mode and disk manager at startup with no results. I then inserted the installation disk and started it with the same results. It will not eject the disk.
I would love to know if there is something else I can do here before taking it into the Apple Geniius.
Thanks JerryPaul, thanks for your suggestions. Regrettably, none of these procedures helped my problem. Interestingly I just installed the same update on my 3 year old iMac and that same screen came on and remained for an unusual amount of time. It took an excessive amount of time to finally come back with running apps in place. A recent update on my MacBook Air went on briskly. I'm not sure what any of that means but there it is. By the way - I let the old iMac run with that startup screen for over an hour thinking it may just be old and needs more time. Being older myself, I felt it couldn't hurt.
Thanks. I am not sure what the Genius Bar can do but it seems that is my next move unless someone comes up with a magic bullet out here.
