After a profile loss can nolonger see my bookmarks in explorer.

windows 7 professional 64 bit
computer crashed and profile couldn't be loaded after I tried to fix this with reprofiler , it made all data in that profile no longer visible in explorer. I have retrieved a lot of data but am not able to find my 2000 or so bookmarks. I have found a places.SQLITE file but this was not the one I needed to restore my bookmarks

Actually the way it always worked for me with my older ipod I had was if i clicked sync while it was disconnected by still showing up in itunes, it would connect back and sync again and then when done go back to where its in the source list but disconnected.

I just went into my hydro bill and tried to open the pdf version and, low and behold, it opened. So somewhere in between when I reinstalled it yesterday (after your suggestion) and just now, it is working!!!

I don't see the new "firefox button" and i can't see the bookmark button (with the drop down option) unless I'm in the customize toolbar view. How can I fix these?

I am using Firefox 4.0 on Windows XP home, Service pack 3. I am trying to use some of the new features of Firefox 4.0 that I see on the Firefox feature page (http://mzl.la/gCFDjj) and am not having much luck. First off in the Firefox Button. It is supposed to contain all your menu items but it is not appearing on my screen. Is this a feature that only works in Vista or Windows 7?
Second, I am trying to use the Bookmarks Button (the one that has the drop down menu) but it doesn't appear in my toolbar unless I right click the tool bar and choose "customize". The button shows up in this view already in the toolbar, as if it is hidden in normal use and no matter where I move it to, once I hit the "done" button in the customize window the Bookmarks Button gets hidden/covered up again.
Third, I see the new "App Tabs" feature but I can't seem to find an option for this in the preferences for Firefox, if it's even supported by my browser/OS at all.
Can anyone tell me how to use/activate these features or if I am even able to using Windows XP?

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.<br />
You only see the Bookmarks menu button if the Menu bar is hidden.

MSI GeForce 9800 gt after updating the driver can't see the whole desktop

I have a MSI GeForce 9800gt, and I've tried to update the driver. After update I can no longer see the whole desktop, I have to move the mouse to the edge of the screen to see the rest, it's like there is a zoom or something.
The driver that came with the CD works fine, but any other driver give's me the same problem. I've tried with v.191.07, v.178, v.258.96, v.306.81 and a few other. I've also reinstall the windows but with no better results (I'm using Windows XP Pro).

Yes, I've tried different resolutions, the only resolution where I see the whole desktop is 800x600. I even try to change the refresh rate to something lower then 60Hertz(I've read on a forum that a refresh rate of 51 or 59 might solve the problem) but no luck.

I've tried this as well, I even try with a fresh install of windows, I've bought a new SSD for my system disk, so I have reinstall the windows.

Lost some of my photos after upgrading, though I can still see the previews.

My 2.66 intel core i5 IMAC recently had a HD crash. Fortuneatly I had a 2T western external HD set up as a time machine. The local Apple reseller checked the HD and had it replaced. When I got my PC back I noticed it had the newer operating system and the newer ilife 11. I attached the time machine and began a restore. All seemed to go well. When I opened iPhoto for the first time, I was prompted to have the library upgraded for the newer software which I did. Then when I went into iPhoto to check my pics. Everything seemed ok until I opened my last import to see that even though I could preview all my pics, I could only open about 20 percent of them. The rest displayed a large grey exclamation point. What has happened and how can I recover these pics? I am now thinking I should keep raw copies of all my photos (have about 40,000), is there a way to export all the raw pics from iphoto without doing each one seperately?

Try all options except for the thumbnails. If that fails:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

I have installed BO Edge 3.1, after the install i try to goto the http://<server>:port/CmcApp page and it's blank. I have run the diagnostic tool and it passes all test. I have un-installed and re-installed way too many times.

After following all of the information presented I still can' t see my bookmarks. History and everything is good, but no bookmarks

It could be that you didn't get a complete copy of your sync info on to the server. Check your Sync preference and see if it's set to sync everything. If you are using custom settings, make sure that bookmarks are checked. If that doesn't fix the problem you should probably replace your sync info: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Replace+your+Sync+information

I updated my iPad now when I am on safari I can nolonger see my different sites in the background. Before I could minimize and see up to 9 pages how can I fix this?

The updated version of Safari no longer uses the thumbnail view. It uses tabs. Take a look at iCab Mobile. It offers similar thumbnails to the previous version of Safari.

If this regards a restore from iCloud - This is a problem reported by many users: a restore not restoring photos that were in Camera Roll (if the photos you are missing were not on the camera roll, then they are not backed up). Not sure about backups to iTunes.
It's generally advised that for any photos taken on a device, they be synced to a computer for archiving. Never rely on backups alone. Use the USB connection from deviced to mac/pc and store photos in an appropriate place, like iphoto or Aperture (on macs).

I'm not familiar with MacOS updates. You ran an update to the OS on your Mac without uninstalling Firefox first, but after that finished, Firefox was missing and had to be installed again? That's not a good sign... do you have any information on whether it was moved to a different folder during the process?
Do you recall ever setting up the Sync service from within Firefox? This service copies your bookmarks to Mozilla's Sync server. In order to connect to that, you would need a copy of the Sync Key (formerly called the Recovery Key) for your account.
If you never set up Sync, your bookmarks would just be on your computer and in any backups you make of your Firefox data (for example, using Apple's Time Machine software).

I can't see my bookmarks/history/etc.

I changed my options to not show the google searchbar, the buttons that say "File, history, etc."(the things you usualy find on the very top of the window under the window title) How do I undo this?

I can't open in Firefox the bookmark properties. The window disappears if clicked on 'Properties'.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I can't see a nikon d800 camera profile in adobe camera raw 8.2
When I open a NEF file from D800, I can see in upper left corner "Camera Raw 8.2 - Nikon D800", but when I open "camera calibration" and click "camera profile", I can only see "Adobe standard, camera landscape, camera neutral, camera vivid" etc., but there is no "Nikon d800 profie
I copied .dpx files with that profile to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles ,but nothing happened.
Strange thing is that when I open a NEF file from old Nikon D80, in "camera profile" appears: "camera D2X mode1", "camera D2X mode2", "camera D2X mode3". Any ideas?

The profiles that you see listed are the profiles for the camera that took the photo. You will not see the camera model listed. Those are the profiles Adobe created for the camera that took the image. You cannot change profiles to those of a different camera.
Apparently older Nikon cameras had the profiles you see listed for your D80. I have those same profiles of as part of my D90 choices. But, again apparently, those profiles are not part of newer cameras. I wouldn't know, because I'm still using a D90.
