After a recent upgrade the system no longer asks me if i want to quit and save open tabs. why is that and can I do something to get this feature back?

I recently had a firefox update (withing past 3 days). Now when I go to close down my browser it only asks me if I am sure I want to close all tabs.
Previously it had asked me if I wanted to quit and save my open tabs or just quit.

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page. 
Another possibility is to use: 
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Go to Settings > General > Siri and turn Siri on. Once you turn it on, you will have the microphone key back on the keyboard

I recently upgraded to ios 8.0.2 on the iPhone 5. One new feature I noticed was a grey box that listed word suggestions to add to a text as it was being typed (not to be confused with the auto correct or original word bubble that pops up for autocomplete). It disappeared and I am not sure why or how I can get this feature back.

If there is a thin gray bar with a white dash in the middle immediately above the keyboard, you can reopen the suggestions by placing a finger on the white dash and dragging up.
You can turn the suggestions on/off by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Predictives

Recent updates of Firefox have removed my favorite feature: the option to choose which Tabs to reload after a force quit. Can I get this feature back?

I'm running a macbook pro on OS 10.6.8 with 2 gig of ram (maxed out). I love firefox and often open 10-20 active tabs. When Activity Monitor App tells me my ram is used up, I will often force quit firefox which frees up ram by unloading the content.
Past versions of firefox would restart with the first tab titled "this is embarrassing..." and then list the tabs that had been open. Then I could quickly scroll through that list and unclick the ones I no longer needed.
The current version 35.0 opens up all the tabs immediately after a force quit and won't let me close them without loading all the content first, again using up all of my ram.
Is there a preference setting to allow me to get this prior list funtionality, which frankly, was the feature I use the most.
Which previous version of Firefox could I devolve to in order to regain this Ram-around. (unless you want to buy me a new laptop you're about to suggest :)

Did you use the Reset/Refresh feature? That would uncustomize the following setting. Otherwise, it's hard to know what would have changed it.
To change what Firefox does after a crash, from trying to restore the session automatically to showing a list of windows and tabs, here's the preference you're looking for:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' preference and change the value from 1 to 0 and OK that.

I used to have this and now I don't have this anymore: whenever I used to type in subject lines in my emails, it would auto complete the subject of the email based on prior emails sent out. It no longer does this. How can I get this feature back?

I can only go back one page at a time because the drop-down jump back multiple pages feature is missing; how do I get this feature back?

On Firefox 3.6 the back and forward buttons also had a drop-down menu to enable me to jump back to one of the last, say, 10 pages I had viewed rather than only go back one at a time. Also, the reload button appears to be missing and I can't figure out how to bring these back. Otherwise, an awesome upgrade; thanks for all your hard work on this fantastic product.

You can right-click either Back or Forward button to open the tab history list.

I recently bought Mac book air and was doing a fresh install of 10.7 and I erased my hard drive and now want to reinstall osx but it keeps telling me that it can't find install information for this machine and to call AppleCare.

When you say OSX, which version do you want to reinstall?
Was the MacBook Air new when you bought it? Did it originally come with Lion? Mountain Lion?
When you say you erased your hard drive, did something go wrong while you were installing Lion?
Were you installing it from a file downloaded from the App Store, or from another source?
When you press and hold "Option" while you boot up, does "Recovery" come up as an option to boot your computer?
If so, you can reinstall Lion from the recovery part of the drive and (hopefully) everything should be fine.
Let me know if you still need a hand with your MacBook and we'll see if we can get you going again.

After a recent upgrade I am no longer able to open NEF files from Lightroom to Photoshop

I receive the error: The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched. After the error, LR creates a tif file and that does open up in PS. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PS and LR but the error comes back. I am running LR 5.7 and PS CS6 both with ACR 8.7. I have seen numerous posts on this issue but I have not found any resolution.
Please help.

My friend updated her iphone 4g with the iOS6 and lost all of her photos, contacts, messages, and music. She doesn't believe she had the icloud set up because after they restored her phone they asked for a new apple-id. I saved it anyway and when I go to the Exchange email account it says "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed." We are running Microsoft Exchange 2010 and I was always able to sync my calendar and email before I upgraded to IOS 6.

I use FF 3.6.18 and don't want to upgrade. I used to be able to click on a PDF link and FF would ask ne if I wanted to view or download. I clicked something in the download window and now I don't get the View option. How do I get this feature back?

Will Alt+arrowLeft go back, and Alt+arrowRight go forward ? Just curious because never asked before -- but wouldn't be much good without the clue that the toolbar arrows provide. I use the mouse back/forward buttons or the keyboard shortcuts, but rely on the what the back/forward toolbar buttons show.
See these two, try everything you can before renaming places.sqlite, such as the corrupt local store, backing up and restoring bookmarks, etc. -- because you do not want to lose your history by deleting or renaming places.sqlite. I have never had to delete places.sqlite but I did delete history once when I thought they wouldn't actually delete all your history from a tool bar button would they (that is a bit more protected now, at least by default).

@caragam, if the songs are no longer in your purchase history it means either they have been hidden or the original items are no longer available for sale on the iTunes Store or you are logged into the store with a different Apple ID.
To see if they have been hidden in iTunes pull down Store > View my AppleID. Enter your password when prompted. In the middle of the screen, click "view hidden purchases." See if the purchased items are here. If they are unhide them and go back to your purchase history and re-download them.
If the purchases are not hidden and you do not have a backup then the songs are gone and there is no way to recover them. This is why we keep backups.
If you used a different Apple ID to purchase the song, log out of the store and log in with the appropriate Apple ID and download the song. Be aware this could trigger a 90 day lock out of the other store account so make sure you really, really want that song.

You did turned in Settings > General > Usage > Battery Percentage: ON?
