After a year, fan has started going crazy

I have a 17" 2.4 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and version 10.5.5
It has worked like a charm for 14 months. Now all of a sudden the fan is super loud and non-stop the second I hit the power button. This just happened in the past 2 days. The fan turns on before the system even boots up. I have no applications running at all. So it seems to be a hardware issue. Any suggestions?

I switched the usb port and did the whole recovery holding of the buttons ect... And it worked, the computer detected the phone and i was able to click restore. However, the computer says preparing iphone for restore and it is still doing the restarting thing where the apple fades away and then comes back like it is restarting. If i can somehow get past this i will be able to go back to factory settings and resolve my problem, but this is where i am stuck.

Moreover, we have no information to contact whom. even the replace set has a warranty of only three month which further confirm that Apple itself is not confident wheather product will last after replacement for more then three month. Users added to a Task AFTER the BPM process has started

Does anyone know of a way to assign users to a task AFTER the BPM process has started?

Hi Craig,
whenever a Task Instance gets created, the assigned roles and groups are resolved into individual users. This means that changes to the roles and groups do not affect existing Task Instances.Then the only way to assign additional users is via "nominate" operation from the NWA or "delegate" from the Task UI. Such changes in the roles and groups will only take affect for newly created Task Instances.

If you've had the phone for 3 years, then it's time for something new. The Motorola phones I've had have been pretty solid, but if you want to switch brands or even providers, then go for it.
Technology changes so quickly that a 3 year old phone, regardless of manufacturer, is likely to seem slow, buggy, laggy - simply because it doesn't have the power to match the network capabilities NOW. If it's only capable of 3G speeds, it will be slow compared to a phone with 4G capability. After three years of use, the internal memory may be maxed out, especially if you haven't cleared stuff out, wiped the cache, etc, causing freezing and non-responsiveness. It may not have enough RAM to effectively run updated apps....
I would say you are due for a new phone - so compare the newest models, go to a store and try them out, and then get whatever brand and model will work best for you.

Add menu after the plug-in has started

I want to added a menu under 'File' menu after the plug-in has started.
Through the shell example in SDK, i am able to add menus on plug-in startup but cant figure out how to add menus after the plug-in has started.
Is it possible to do so? If yes, then how to do it?

The suites should be the same, namely AIMenu.h's AIMenuSuite. The calls are fairly self-explanatory I think, though if you have questions fire away & hopefully I can help.
The only thing that might be tricky is that it wants a reference to your plugin. Typically you'd do that in response to a selector/caller combination that included a message -- the message always has such a reference. If that's the only thing you're missing, the simple answer is to grab that from one of the early messages and stow it in a static variable somewhere so you can use it later; it won't change, so that's perfectly acceptable.

While charging 6 plus if I hold the screen it starts going crazy! Am I the only one this happens to?

Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Also try a different charger and a different electrical outlet for good measure
If it is still happening - then you may be looking at taking the device to an Apple store or authorized repair store

As of yesterday, my laptop has started to weirdly (under no loading on GPU or CPU, CPU 20% max during HD video watching on Youtube/Twitch.tv) causing my fan to go from being quiet to shoot up in speed, this seems to stop when plugged in but when on battery power it's becoming more frequent. The only thing that is being done on the laptop when this happens is internet browser use.
I cleaned my laptop 2 days before yesterday so it can't be a heat issue or dust issue. I'm quite clueless right now. I'm not what else to tell you, as that's all I've done. No updates to windows, no software updates on anything for over a week now I believe. Cable issue maybe?
Hope I can get some info on this.

On my Windows 8.1, beginning with Firefox 35, a strange problem has started appearing. Strange Chinese fonts appear in tabs area making it impossible to deal with tabs. It starts appearing in all firefox windows opened subsequently. This starts after around an hour of starting firefox and continues until all sessions are closed. I have tried reinstalling firefox. Now I have updated to version 36. Still the problem continues.

hi ashwanibright, this is a displaying flaw caused the mcafee site advisor extension - please try to disable or remove that in case you have it present until there is an update by mcafee that can fix the problem.

Satellite Pro A10: after 3 years now just started shutting down

Can anyone help with this problem?
I've had my Sat Pro A10 about 3 years now and it's just started shutting down.
I've had the fan replaced and the unit cleaned out.
In the power options I've set the processor to minimum speed and the cooling to max.
Has anyone got any other suggestions.

There is a good way to test if you have a CPU/RAM related problem. Just use Superprime or prime95 which is excellent for testing these two core components.
I am a heavy overclocker, so I need prime95 like my breath, and it works perfectly. It shows me when the CPU is exceeding a limit of overclocking (the same for the RAM) and if something is wrong with it.
If you then test it on your own machine, and you get an error, then you know that you probably have a hardware fault. But make sure that you quit all unneeded applications, which can disturb the test, so there were some reports, that applications cause error with these program.
I hope I could give you a new idea.

Applications wont / cant make the fan make a noise, just potentially make it run too much or not enough (though thats never the case).
I assume the fan is making the typical zzhhh or zzzz sound like a bee near your ear?
If so, do you have the Mac in a dusty room or have a lot of pets? cats, dogs, pet fuzz?
Since its a few years old and the fan acts almost like an air filter, given dust and humidity, the blades of the fan clog, which makes a noise which causes the fans hub/bearing to heat up and likely go bad.
You're likely in luck and its merely DIRTY, and not going bad DUE TO DIRT. In which case merely cleaning the fan would fix the issue, if not a replacement fan.
If you let it go a lot longer like that, burning out the bearing is almost a sure thing,....like attaching weights to thin plastic air fans blades, it torques and stresses the fan motor/hub to the point of failure.
Make an appt. with Apple store for diagnostic / cleaning and possible but unlikely fan replacement.

Ipad air screen starts going crazy

My iPad Air which is only 10 months old will, more often now, start flashing the screen and moving from one app to another or just start typing weird characters. I can be reading a book or in Safari or just reading mail and this might start. Even is sitting reading while not touching anything it might start and is totally random. I've tried resetting as has been suggested elsewhere but that made no difference. Some times it is fine for days and then might start. It is very frustrating especially when reading a book and it just starts flipping pages. Any help would be welcome.

Thanks Jim but somehow I don't think it's the screen as I can sometimes just turn the iPad on and it might start acting up. It's actually only been doing this since the last iOS update so I'll see what happens after the next update. I've logged a service call with Apple so maybe they'll have a suggestion.

My iPad has been going crazy since the iOS 5.0.1 update.

Touch screen seems to be selecting things on its own and it types on its own. Pages in iBook turn by themselves and the screen keeps flashing. Sometimes, it won't let me move beyond a certain point on the screen. Happens about once an hour. Turning it off helps, but it usually starts again. Any way to go back to ios 5.0? Any help would be appreciated.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported. Have you tried closing all apps completely and doing a reset and seeing if that helps ?
To close all apps, from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

iPhone 5S touchscreen is not responding correctly to my touch. Then is acts like I'm holding down letters on the keyboard and randomly opening Apps, and I am unable to get any control over my phone. I have tried resetting it multiple times. It may stop it for a min or so, but then it starts back up. I updated to iOS8 hoping it would fix the problem, but it did not. And another issue I'm having is my screen is not turning off when making a phone call. The screen never turns black when the ear piece area is covered up. Therefore it is muting and going to FaceTime constantly. I am getting extremely frustrated with my iPhone. HELP ME.
