After a year of using PS, Adobe tells me my serial number is invalid.
Has anyone had any problems with serial numbers not working anymore? I'm told by a person on their chat support that my serial number is not valid.
I have CS4 that was purchased from ebay, but it's all original, not a copy. I've been using it for the past year, and about two weeks ago I had a pop up message when I opened the program saying that the serial number wasn't valid and that I could only use PS as a trial version.
Since the program was bought from ebay, Adobe support won't help me. I was told they don't support sw problems purchased off of ebay.
If I had a copy, I'd understand, but it isn't.
When I asked why after a year it doesn't work anymore, I was told to go talk to the person I bought it from.
So, hopefully someone can tell me why it stopped working. Thanks!

That's pretty much it, yes. Adobe knows about the problems and is working on them.
In software development there's always a balance that must be struck between trying to rush to get a problem fixed and taking the time to get it right so it truly is fixed.
Personally I feel the activation / licensing processes must always be kept as non-intrusive as they can possibly be since they're all about protecting Adobe, providing legitimate users no useful functionality.

Ok, so I just bought Adobe Photoshop elements 12 from Best Buy a month ago, and I want to download it onto my computer now. So I inserted the CD and everything, and through the process, the box popped up telling me to insert my serial number. After looking up what that was- and being told it was on the sticker on the back on the CD box- I entered it, and it keeps telling me it's invalid. It's a 8 number, so is it a redemtion code? If so, where do I redeem it?
The serial number should 24 numbers divided into sets of 4 (I think). It should be located on the CD cover. I don't think a redemption code is involved if you buy the CD, but just in case here's some links to cover either case...

Adobe support says my serial number is invalid.
Bought CS3 Extended a few years ago from a reseller on ebay packaged up and sealed in box with printed info. Has serial number sticker on back of the CD case. Adobe support person says it's not a legit serial number as it starts with "1330", 24 digits, total. Had this installed on my previous computer with Vista. Worked find. November 13' had a new PC built with Windows 7 64 bit. Reinstalled CS3 Extended. Worked fine up until about a month ago. Then PC would not open or aknowledge it was on my system. Tried to uninstall, wouldn't let me so had to find software to remove it and all of the components.Did this. Then try to reinstall again but won't let me reinstall.This is what happens. When I put the disc into the CD driver dialogue box says do I want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer? Dialogue box pops up, Program name-Adobe autoplay 5.1. I click yes. Dialogue box pops up with options. Install Adobe Photoshop CS3

I click on next then a dialogue box pops up saying "Summary of changes" the following components will be reinstalled. 1/ Adobe Photoshop CS3 2/ shared components. Adobe BRIDGE CS 5 PHOTO DOWNLOADER freezes and/or stops working during download after 2 years of use. I have uninstalled/re installed twice, cleaned system, adjusted Bridge settings with no change. And I have found no helpful troublshooting tips in forum or on web.
Does it freeze with other type of cards. Have seem some post that suggest an imbedded CODEC on the flash card can cause file corruption in Bridge and Mac Finder.

After several years of use very satisfied with Firefox, recently loaded version (4.0.1) severely slows my browsing, and even my system, especially when there are pictures or videos. I said that this was not the case before and my system is Windows XP SP3.
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
I did all 5 steps and they didn't work so I went into apple and they basically told me they could send it away but it was probably unfixable and i'd have to pay for to replace it (180 dollars). I've only had th iphone 4s for two weeks over a year, am I seriously expected to pay for their broken product after one year of use??

Yes, that was the terms of the warranty that you accepted when you purchased the phone. You had the option to purchase an extended warranty that would have covered it for 2 years, but you chose not to. -

What exactly is missing?
The iPhoto icon in the Dock, that you used to launch iPhoto?
The iPhoto application from the "Applications" folder?
Your iPhoto library from your "Pictures" folder?
To check what is still left, click on the looking glass icon in the upper right corner of your screen and type "iPhoto" into the Spotlight search field. This should find anything with iPhoto in its name. Does it show an iPhoto application? Then click it to launch it.
But before you do anything else, I'd strongly suggest to get yourself a backup disk and make a Time Machine backup of your machine right now. You have already noticed, how risky it is, not to have a working backup. The best computer will crash one day.

My Macbook keeps saying 'The burn to the MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-898 drive failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error.' everytime I try to burn a cd with data on it, it has only just started doing it after 2 years of use, how do I fix it?
Have you tried using a different brand of optical disk? (You don't say whether you are doing CDs or DVDs.) Some are better than others.

Are you using Acrobat 9 extended ?
How did you purchase your software ?Is it through some outside vendor or through Adobe?
In case you have purchased it from some outside vendor ,would recommend you to get in touch with them .

I moved Illustrator CS2 to a new computer an can not activate.
Deleted the current and downloaded per instructions from Adobe site, but the serial number provided by Adobe will not activate the program. I get a "Invalid Serial Number" after inputting the serial number from the download site.

Just to make sure:
Is it AI as a standalone application for Mac?
Otherwise, it will be one of the other serial numbers (for the whole suite (Mac or Win) if it forms part of it, or for the standalone Win AI).
Concerning the whole suite, you should be aware that the only suite version available for download is the Standard, so if you have the CS2 Premium you will need to, you have to download the Standard and then the Acrobat Professional and GoLive separately. -
