After Apple update Itunes is gone & cannot be re-installed

I ran Apple Update when it popped up saying there was a new Itunes and Quicktime so I said install. Halfway through it asked me for my Itunessetup.msi so I pointed to it in the installer temp directory and it says it is not valid MSI file. I can do nothing but cancel as I cannot use an older MSI so my PC is screwed.
I tried using system restore even and that does not work.
Basically Apple Update has made my system useless for my Ipod unless I want to do a complete re-load of windows. I even did full uninstall of ALL apple software, killed ALL registry keys for APPLE and Itunes, restarted and still Itunes will not install.
Anyone have a fix or work around without complete Windows reload????

Hi Jes,
I appreciate your kind concern for me and my situation. Please note that I did these steps on our TEST environment. This is NOT the system experiencing the originally reported problem. It is not the system where I have pages I need to retrieve. We have a series of nearly identical environments used for different purposes in our application development /qa/ production life cycle. TEST is a pair of smaller boxes we use for trying out new versions, applying patches, proving stuff to support etc.
My point is that there seems to be a reproducable issue here when re-installing 2.0 after 3.0 has been installed. A clean 3.0 unistall ON A FULLY FUNCTIONAL 3.0 system, followed by a clean 2.0 install should not yeild a flows object that cannot be recompiled.
My real hope is the someone might be able find me an unwrapped copy of WWV_FLOW_GEN_API2. With that I could see the compilation error and perhaps fix the problem.
Steve
