You need to figure out what happened to WEB.XML and correct the problem (ie put it back where the JVM expects to find it). You may simply have a format problem which you should check by viewing the file (if it exists) in IE and ensuring it displays properly (IE will give an error if the xml is poorly formatted).

Authorization Error while extracting data after applying SAP upgrade patch

Hello All,
Recently we have updated the SAP BW patch to 24 and ECC patch to 22. I have the access to perform extraction in RSA3 tcode in ECC.
However, While performing the data load in BW, the process is failing at the Infopackage step with the following error:
"You do not have authorization to extract from Datasource XXXX, Component FI-IO. Message no. R8073"
My basis guy has given the necessary acces.. but still the issue persists..
Please provide solutions ASAP... its very critical issue...

Hi,
Are you loading the data with your username? it may cause problem sometimes because you may not have the authorization object S_RO_OSOA assigned in your roles.
Try scheduling the loading job with the background user with which normally the process chains are run.
i guess this should solve your problem, if not try adding this authorization object to the corresponding role and you can run with your user name itself.
I am not sure about the auth objt , try and see.

Question 1:I know I must use RZ10 to input these parameter.But which profile must I use?

Question2: If I don't want to use RZ10, can I apply that parameter manually inside the pnecessary profile?

You can edit this file by using a text editor (when you have a Java-only installation) or by using transaction RZ10 (when you have a double-stack system). When editing this file, make sure that there is an empty line at the end of the file.

SAP Business Objects Performance Tuning Guides

Hello everyone,
I'm currently looking for Performance Tuning guides for the hardware/software. In particular, parameters for the hardware. I'm having a hard time finding any kind of guides on the server side of Business Objects. So I'm wondering if anybody knows of some that are available on the internet or SAP site?
I've found very few in the software department. However, I'm looking more for the hardware portion of Business Objects. Basically the goal is to get the server as optimal as possible (As far as memory, parameters, CPU, etc) is concerned so we know it can't be a hardware issue. It's kind of narrowing down the potential problems we can have later on down the road so that's why this is very important right now.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Victor

Hi Vani,
Just go to the System Configuration and UME configuration.
Now go to user mapping tab, and remove the entry for a reference system. Then check for the issue if persists, restart system.

Hi all! We have installed Adobe Forms based on the version included in the NW 04 GA package. Printing a Adobe Form out of the ABAP Stack worked fine then (at least with the correct printer device). Now after applying SP09 for ABAP, J2EE and ADS Objects we always get the same error when testing the identical Adobe Form in transaction "SFP": FPRUNX-001
All the things stated in the ADS Config Guide are maintained (to my knowledge). Note "717568" didn't help either.

- Transaction SNOTE;
- click on the box "SAP NOTE download";
- enter the note number;
- after the download, the note will appear in the list below; if the note has a blue arrow as a mark, then it is applyable;
- double click on that arrow;
- follow the steps on the screen (which will guide you thru the process, creating a Change Request and so on);
that's it
EDIT: i forgot you must be allowed to apply notes, e.g. you should be a thrusted and authorized user.

J2EE Engine cannot start after applying SP11 on WAS 6.40

I am upgrading my WAS 6.40 SR1 java instance from SP9 to SP11. At the last stages of the installation the Java instance is stopped & started,at the step where Java instance is started, the 'server' process of the Java instance is not coming up properly. jcmon shows the dispatcher & SDM with status 'running' while server0 is with status 'stopped'.
Since I'm using ABAP as data source to the J2EE, appears to me that the problem is occuring due to password mismatch for user SAPJSF in R/3 client 168 & between user SAPJSF in J2EE though I'm not sure why the password might change in J2EE after applying SP11.
Please advice if my reasoning is correct, if no please advice how to solve this problem.
If yes pls advice how can I change the password for user SAPJSF in J2EE. FYI I already tried changing the password for user SAPJSF using the offline config tool, Under cluster-data-> Instance_ID87066 I select the
services com.sap.security.core.ume.service, then I select the ume.r3.connection.master.passwd, then the problem is inside the value option I'm not able to input the new password, neither I'm able to delete the old password, so the best thing I can do is Click on Set which opens a small window without any description with 2 options OK & Cancel, here I put the password same as R/3 password & save, after this I re-start the J2EE, but the same problem persists. Please advice on solving the problem.

ABAP Runtime error on FB50 or FB60 after supplying SAP Support Packs

After applying the latest SAP Financial support stacks and OSS Notes we get the following:
Too many parameters specified with PERFORM.
In a subroutine call, there were more parameters than in the routine definition.
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLGLIN" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class
'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND', was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "G_RWIN_CHECK"
"(FUNCTION)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
A PERFORM was used to call the routine "G_RWIN_CHECK" of the program
"SAPLGLIN".
This routine contains exactly 3 formal parameters, but the current
call contains 4 actual parameters.

Financial Accountig missing in SAP Customizing Implementation Guide

After upgrading SAP ERP 2004 to SP-Stack 17, the entry "Financial Accounting" is missing in SAP Customizing Implementation Guide (Transaction SPRO).
Any ideas?

Getting Error After Applying 9.3.2_HotFix_IAC_Starter_v09 to CCP 9.3.2

Hi Team,
                We are doing a Validation of CIAC Solution for Japanese customers. We are getting an issue while configuring the CCP 9.3.2 after applying the 9.3.2_HotFix_IAC_Starter_v09 hotfix. The “Set Provisioning Setting” Option throwing some SQL query error while configuring, kindly refer the attached screen shot. We have followed the steps as pre the IAC 3.0.1 Configuration guide.
Environment Details:
CCP 9.3.2                                                             -              Windows Server 2008 R2 Ent SP1 Japanese
SQL Server                                                          -              SQL Server 2008 R2 Ent Japanese
CPO 2.3.0 with Content update 1              -              Windows Server 2008 Ent SP1
Note: We didn’t get this error before applying the hot fix.
I have attached the installation logs after Upgrade.
Kindly help us on this issue..

thank you Joe for filing the Bug.
When I observed the issue I was quite at a loss and it took me a while to find the reason.
I created a softlink on libm.so.2 but this didn' t solved the issue. ldd /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/Apache/bin/web-server showed that this library was now found but some other still not.
The reason was a bit strange and I am not sure if my troubleshooting steps caused it (e.g. re-applying the patch) or if I was just unconcentrated as "it was late in the evening ...."
Finally I found that the other library files which comes with LMS (libaprutil-1.so.0, libexpat.so.0, libiconv.so.2, libapr-1.so.0) and are stored in NMSROOT/MDC/Apache/lib have had a byte size of 0;
Happily, I had still another server running and could copy those files to the local server, restarted dmgtd and got it back running
So I am not sure if the patch just introduces libm.so.2 or if it also has some impact on somee other libraries in NMSROOT/MDC/Apache/lib.
I will update the other server in the next 2 or 3 weeks, then I can tell....

How to do SAP Buffer Tuning

Hi Gurus!
We having performance problem on some tcode lately (we are using sap R/3 4.7 on Windows - 2003 Server & our database is Oracle - 9i )
Can anybody give me an advice or link to sap notes or the other article or guide how to perform sap buffer tuning, and optimizing instance parameter ?

Task 1 :
Check for tables which are not buffered, but should be.
For example, check the customers:
 Customising tables, (table names beginning with Y or Z)
 Condition tables (for example, table A<nnn>, where nnn 500 to 999
Task 2 :
Check for tables which are buffered, but should not be.
 For example, check large and frequently changed Customising
 tables, such as:
 Table TCURR (exchange rates)
 Tables A005 (prices), A017 (customer/material), and A018 (vendor/material)

Dump error after applying patches

Dear all;
after applying SAP_BASIS Packs (SAPKB62019 and SAPKB62020) the transaction was canceled before finched implementing the patches and We are receiving ABAP dump errors while executing any transaction ( syntax_error)
could you help me to resolve this proble?

           Symptom: After you import Basis Support Package SAPKB62020, you may experience a change in the system response at different points in an R/3 Enterprise system. This problem can be seen in the sudden appearance of screen elements, for example, or in changes in the process flow of transactions. In extreme cases, it can also cause data corruption.
           Reason: Support Package SAPKB62020 included an incomplete correction to BAdI processing that caused the execution of BAdI implementation of deactivated Enterprise Extensions.
           Solution: You must refer to SAP Note 601742. Import Basis Support Package SAPKB62023 as soon as possible (planned release date is May 06, 2003) or implement the additional correction instructions as described in Note 601742.
