After authorizing a second computer, playlist incomplete

I purchased several songs using computer #1. Then, I purchased a song using computer #2. I authorized computer #2 to play songs, but the playlist shows only the 1 song purchased using computer #2. Any suggestions?
Computer #1 is a Mac with OS X, computer #2 is a Dell with Windows 2000.

Hard Drive Won't Mount After Repair by Second Computer

I have an G4 Cube with OS 10.2 on the internal hard drive (which is full) and OS 10.4 on an external La CIe hard drive (that I use as my main OS). The external hard drive accumulated serious damage that couldn't be repaired by Disk Utility on the internal drive. My copy of DiskWarrior X would not run under OS 10.2 (10.4 was required) and it wouldn't boot from the CD either So I connected the external hard drive to my second computer, an iMAC running OS 10.5. (Unfortunately, I disconnected the external hard drive when the computer was off instead of ejecting the drive by dragging it to the Wastebasket.) The external drive mounted and DiskWarrior easily constructed a new directory, defragmented the files, and eliminated all of the damage on the external hard drive visible to Disk Utility. However, when I reconnected the repaired external hard drive to the G4 Cube, the drive wouldn't mount. Privileges were repaired on both computers with the external drive connected without helping. Being repaired while connected to a higher OS or perhaps simply being connected to a higher OS seems to have left the LaCie external hard drive in a state which couldn't be mounted by an earlier OS.
Following this hypothesis, it booted the G4 Cube from the OS 10.4 Installation CD while the LaCie external hard drive was connected. When I cancelled installation of OS 10.4, I was asked to choose a start-up disk AND OS 10.4 WAS NOW MAGICALLY AVAILABLE ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE. Simply starting up from a more advanced OS allowed the hard drive to mount.
Shockingly, when I restarted from OS 10.2, the external hard drive was still mounted. Whatever was preventing the drive from mounting was a TRANSIENT STATE, not backwards incompatability.
POSSIBLE LESSON: If a hard drive won't mount on computer A after being connected to computer B, consider booting computer A using the OS on the installation disk from computer B.

If you need to repair a hard drive with OS X installed on it, you must use that same version of OS X to perform the repair. Using another--in this case, newer--OS can cause quite a bit of trouble, as the directories/permissions may be dealt with differently between the OS's.
Seems you've learned this lesson--and luckily you didn't lose anything!

I have a new iPhone. I already have an existing iTunes account on my home PC. I want to be able to access this account from my iPhone, but I can't. Do I have to authorize a new computer on this account? If so, how do I do that?

Let me ask: is your home PC the main computer you use to synchronize your iPhone? The reason I ask is that your main sync computer must use the same iTunes account that you want to use on your iPhone, to download music, apps, etc.
If it is not, then do the following on your iPhone's main computer:
Open iTunes. On the menu bar, select the "Store" menu, and select "Authorize Computer..." This will open a dialog box asking you to enter your Apple ID and password - in this case, enter the Apple ID that you normally use on your home PC. That will authorize the second computer to use the account, provided that the particular Apple ID has not been previously authorized on five computers.
If you DO use your home PC to sync your iPhone, I think a little more information would be needed. What specifically is preventing you from accessing that particular account on your iPhone?

First off, yes, I have searched around for the answer to this, and no, nothing has led me to any conclusion.
I have recently just reformated my computer and did not know I was supposed to deauthorize my computer before reformatting. This should be all fine and dandy if I could go into the iTunes store and authorize a my new computer (yes, I've entered my login info many times thus far) but either I do not see an option for it (I have scowerd the main page and account settings) or it does not exist in Canada. I cannot use the 'de-authorize all' button because it is not there as I have not authorized 5 computers yet. I consider myself to be computer savvy and have spent about 2 hours trying to fix this (after my iPhone wiped all my songs/pictures/apps/videos/podcasts off, fun) I am out of options. Please help!

Hello fellow Canadian.
You should be able to authorize your computer with ease by clicking *Store > Authorize Computer.* Both authorization options are coupled together in the same menu. You enter your account login info then the immediate success notification says "Computer Authorization successful. You have authorized # computers out of your available 5." Even if you didn't deauthorize, the message will be the same. There is no authorize button within Account Settings.

60gb ipod frozen after plugging into second computer

I plugged my son's 60 gb ipod into my computer, but my computer asked me to erase his sync settings and sync it to my computer.
I said no, the computer failed to recognize the ipod, I shut the computer down and unplugged it.
Now his ipod is frozen, and holding the menu and center buttons does nothing.
When he plugged into his usb port, the ipod made whining noises that also projected through his computer.
I have itunes 7.0.2 (15) on my computer, he has 7.0.1 (7)

First plug your mini on an USB-Power adapter NO PC!!
Than normally it will start, load the mini's battery for a while.
Than instal the latest version of itunes on your pc.
Open itunes than plug your mini in...
And it normally shows up.. Restore and done!
When it doesn't work the mini has a wrong format! That happens when you restored it on a mac!!!
Maybe you've done that. Than plug it into a mac open Disc-Utility than change the format to FAT.
Than again in your windows and will it work...
Ask again when it won't or you does'nt understand

iPad can connect only in one iTunes Library. If you want to connect it to a iTunes Library then you have to erase it. You can erase it from iTunes. Make sure you iPad doesn't have a password, or if it has a password make sure that you connect to the computer and enter the password of your iPad

Sorry to ask, how do I do it please. I have my first ipod with the same account on both computers that have different libraries one of which I am building now. Do I have to de-authorise my original ipod on the computer that I want to use my new ipod on with the new library and then register my new ipod. I would rather do this than have 2 libraries on one itunes, but keep the same account details.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.
No answers here, but you are definitely not alone with this issue.

Time Capsule No Longer Backs Up First Computer After Adding Second Computer

I'm new to this forum and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.
I have a 1 TB TC. I used it to begin backups on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.6). I did the first backup on 1/4/09 and, up until today, it has been working very well, with hourly backups, as it is supposed to. Today, I added my wife's PowerBook (also 10.5.6). After the first backup (by ethernet link), it now performs hourly backups on hers. On my MacBook, however, it reports "preparing to backup" for hours, with nothing happening. Again, everything was fine on my computer, until I added the second one.
Any idea what might be happening?

Problem is solved. It turns out that I had three events that occurred, only one of which caused my problem. As you suggested, adding a second computer had nothing to do with it. A second, unrelated issue had to do with my Cannon scanner driver. An old driver version was producing the Console readout about vendor and device. The real issue was that I had experienced a screen freeze and had to to a forced restart. That likely produced the "deep transversal" discussed in the link to which you referred. In any case, waiting an appropriate length of time finally produced the back up. Everything seems normal at this point. Thanks for the help.

It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time
