I have my previous HDD still avalaible (inside a USB case, so I can access it if I plug it)
Since I have reboot from Time Machine, my most recent time mahcine backup was... 2 months old :-(
I use Maill app, I have 2 email accounts, they are both driven from Gmail small business
Since I have just rebooted my system form this 2 months old backup, I am afraid of opening my Mail app.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

  • I achieved some gmail emails and can't find the archive to retrieve them

I archived some gmail emails and can't find the archive file to retrieve them.

Rosetta Stone does make a Mac OS X compatible version of their software.  You may be elligible for a crossgrade or a Mac version of their CD.  Or you might need to consider installing Windows on your Mac, if the disc only has a .exe file.

  • On my iPad2, how do I send a Gmail email to trash?

On my iPad2, how do I send a Gmail email to trash?  I do not see an icon for trash, i.e. the usual "trash" can.
    Please help me.
    Thank you!

What you're looking for would be the "archive" or so called "delete" button. It has an arrow pointing down to a box.
What it actually does is that any mail that is "archived" in the mail app results in an action where the app from the orginal location (i.e. inbox) is transfered to the bin in Gmail which is cleaned up every 30 days.
If you happen to mistakenly archive your mail on your iPad, you can locate this mail in the gmail folder within your mail app, bin, hit the mail to view it. If you wish to transfer it back to your inbox, simply hit the folder icon with a down arrow in it.
Linking back to my first point, I'm saying its a so-called delete because in fact, a delete (the word in your context) action that puts the mail into the bin for 30 days before it is really deleted. But its just an archive.
    Does it help?

  • HT4910 My iCal has frozen after I tried to paste info from an email into a reminder.  I get a "server reports an error" message with what I tried to paste in the box.  Calendar is frozen and will only close by forcing it.  Any help?

My iCal has frozen after I tried to paste info from an email into a reminder.  I get a "server reports an error" message with what I tried to paste in the box.  Calendar is frozen and will only close by forcing it.  Any help?

Did another window open with the pasted information?  If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time.  That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.

  • How to Manually Restore SharePoint Content Database from DPM Backup to Alternative Farm

I have restored a content database of a site collection from a DPM backup, and the result is the MDF and LDF files of the database in a directory I specified in the restored wizard in DPM.
In my other SharePoint farm (a test environment) simply trying to attach these files in the target farm's SQL server produces an error as follows:
"Paths that begin with \\?\GlobalRoot are internal to the kernel and should not be opened by managed applications. (mscorlib) "
Given I have the DPM restored database, on an alternative farm, how can I manually restore this content database? What are the required steps?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi
Gr8 - don't ask me to explain, somehow SQL caches the backup location which is from a snapshot starting with
\\?\GlobalRoot and copying them discards that so they can me mounted.
    Glad that resolved your issue.

  • How do I convert a pdf form into an app?

I am NOT a programmer but it seems to me that it shouldn't be that difficult to convert a pdf form into an app? There must be some kind of tool within adobe that I can use to do so? I am a member of Creative cloud.
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie1moon,
You are trying to convert the form into which format?
Adobe Acrobat can be used to convert a pdf into formats such as .doc,.docx,.ppt,.xls,.jpeg etc. but it will remove the existing formats and validations if any applied on the form fields.

My iPhone overheats. Battery drops from 100/90% to 10% sudenly. Got the device 20 days ago. I'm currently living in The Hague, there is no Apple Store in this city, took an appointment in Amsterdam, after 3 hours drive and 60€ travel cost got into the Apple Store, 73 minutes delay on my appointment the Genius  tech tells me I should leave my device for further checks in the store and come back in a week or two. Not presicely the answer I was looking for, plus he did not have any device to lend me until my iPhone was checked. Quite dissapointed, Apple was standard for quality on customer satisfaction, in the last 10 years I bought 3 MacBooks, 5 iPdas, 7 iPods, 5 iPhones and 2 iMACs... please don't let me down. [email protected]/[email protected]/[email protected]

Dear Ocean, one is a complaint about the quality of the device.
The second about the quality on response from Customer Service.
No worries, I'll delete both post since it seems that won't bring anything productive.
    Good bye Apple!

  • How do I restore locally saved emails from back-up after Lion re-installed

Since upgrading (?not sure this is the correct word) to Lion I've experienced periodic crashes- my 24" iMac (2.93 GHz Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory) suddenly shut down using iPhoto, Safari, and/or Pages. Applecare expired so I took it into a Genius bar: after running numerous hardware diagnostic tests I was told it was not a hardware problem, and a complete reinstall of Lion and all Apple software was recommended. I agreed- after all I had back-ups on a My Book which I thought I could easily use to restore my personal data. I was directed to drag files between Finder windows rather than try to restore from backup via Time Machine. All was well & good until I tried to restore my numerous mail folders and locally-saved emails. Evidently Mail is a hidden folder... I've been told by my helpful user group buddies how to see the hidden Mail folder on my iMac, but not on the My Book. Trying to restore from back-up via Time Machine is not an option, as I guess it doesn't recognize the newly installed system. Also tried going into Mail and importing, but when I navigate to the backup there is no visible Mail folder. Another suggestion was to try 3rd party software i.e. Back in Time or BackUp Loupe. I keep thinking there's some secret key combination, some easy way I just don't know of to retrieve my Mail data from the backup... is there???

    Mail is in the username/Library/Mail
In the Finder- Library his hidden by default.  If you use the drop down menu Finder>Go  hold the option key down to make visible the Library.
    or Go to Folder
    ~/Library/Mail

  • 25GB of not-visible files on bootdisk after backup-how to find and delete?

After backing up my iMac G5 internal HD to an external Firewire HD, the internal HD has accumulated an extra 25 Gigabytes of hidden/invisible files.
** How can I locate and delete presumably unnecessary hidden files?
iMac HD had 100GB used. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone iMacHD to iMac backup, which had been zeroed with Disk Utility. After several failed partial clones using CCC, I erased iMac Backup -without zeroing- MacOS Extended (not journaled), and successfully made a bootable clone, excluding only .Spotlight-V100
Did the failed clone attempts create hidden temporary files? Each time I tried, I would get more folders cloned, including the files at which it had hung, without error messages (mostly).
Visible folders total 95 GB -exactly the same on Imac HD and iMac backup
    Using
    sudo ls alh /.Spotlight-V100
.Spotlight-V100 totals 185 MB on IMac HD
Just before the above history, iMac HD had been zeroed, Tiger reinstalled, updates taken, and other data restored using Migration assistant, from iMac Backup, which had been the boot disk because iMacHD had twice, in the last 6 months, developed bad disk sectors ( invalid leaf count in Disk Utility, surface scan errors in Techtool Deluxe. iMac HD has just passed both those tests, for now.)
If this happens again, Applecare promised me I get a new HD.
(Applecare Australia works the same hours I do M-F, so I get to talk to them only on Saturdays)
