whenI get the Firefox page it goes back to desktop. It was fine until I updated to 3.6.15 after being
prompted to do so.
I can't useFirefox at all.

Reboot: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, using the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
Now, return to the Settings > Software Updates and see if it will proceed.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Even After Upgrading to 10.3.1 I am still being prompted to Update the OS

Ok, so after a great deal of trouble that I took to remove some Apps etc to make space for upgrading my Q5 to version 10.3.1.2243, I finally succeeded in upgrading the phone. Shortly thereafter, just when I thought I was all set, I started getting notifications to upgrade again, and this time I was being prompted to free up another 1.7 GB from my phone, which is virtually impossible. The update version that I am being prompted to fee up space for is 10.3.1.1565.
When I connect through the Blackberry Link, it shows my software as up-to-date, with version 10.3.1.1565 installed. Can someone please tell me what is going on, becuase there is no way that I can create an extra 1.7 GB of space for a new update.

Any ideas how to unfreeze my iPad after being prompted to install an update?

After installing an iPad update yesterday, my iPad is only showing the USB plug pointing to the iTunes logo. Here is what I've tried:
- holding power and home buttons. apple logo appears but then same dispaly an noted above
- restarted computer with iPad attached and not attached
Other info:
- iTunes does not recognize the iPad,but my PC does...at least it beeps when plugging in and removing
- Using an iPad 2
- Latest iTunes software is installed
Any help is appreciated.

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

iOS upadates are NOT in the App Store. Also, 1st gen iPads do not run iOS 6. 5.1.1 is the most recent version for that model.
You will need to connect the iPad to a computer running itunes in order to update form anything prior to 5.0. Update over WiFi wasn't available until 5.0.

Being prompted to update Flash, ignore? v11.2.202.228 and v11.2.202.229 Google Chrome

Just prompted by Adobe that an upgrade to Adobe Flash Player is available – within the bullets say includes security enhancements.
Two weeks ago I was made aware that there were security vulnerabilities with Flash. My laptop was infected (3/26). One of the recommendations from my anti-virus software company was to keep all Adobe products updated, especially Flash. Also, I was given the recommendation to consider choosing a less common browser than IE; he used Google Chrome which has its own security features. I had used Chrome once before when it was beta but downloaded the new Chrome, set security settings and testing it out. A few days later, someone I know also in the IS community said their company (a large international company) is uninstalling all Adobe products from all of their employee computers completely.
In reading the Developer Release Notes, this upgrade is for v11.2.202.228.
The Adobe Flash website section detects I have v11.2.202.229 installed. The latest version listed underneath was .228. I questioned how I could have a newer, higher number, version if .228 is the latest release? This was odd, needed an answer and to verify I was current.
In reading the Security Bulletin, it says… “These priority 2 updates address critical vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.63 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris, and Adobe Flash Player 11.1.111.7 and earlier versions for Android 3.x and 2.x. These vulnerabilities could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system… … …Adobe recommends users of Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.63 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux update to Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.228 … … ...can install the update via the update mechanism within the product when prompted. Google Chrome will be updated automatically, so no user action is required. Google Chrome users can verify that they have updated to Google Chrome version 18.0.1025.151, which includes Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.229.”
This answered my question. I am current…and then I found an Adobe forum thread asking if 11.2.202.229 files installed in the correct place. I am deducing from the bulletin that the v.229 is designed with content or files specific for Google Chrome. And I am also deducing I was prompted that a new update is available because Flash Auto Update is looking for any version other than or is “not v.228” and not looking for “both v.228 AND v.229 files” on one’s computer? Concluding that I should ignore this prompt, check “do not remind me about this update” now and in the future if using Chrome [but I would still always need to verify Flash has been updated on my computer or verify I have the latest version of Google Chrome, before ignoring]? And if I do choose not to continue using Google Chrome (uninstall), I should then resume with manual updates. Please provide feedback.
If true, my recommendation to Adobe would be to design the Flash Auto Update to search for *all* versions related to the latest release to avoid a false prompt from appearing and/or *also include within the text of the standard Auto-update prompt’s window the same verbiage as within the Security Bulletin (which is not normally read by users) regarding Google Chrome, directing that no user action is required. It may or may not be harmful for someone to proceed with installing v.228 when they already have v.229… meanting it may not delete or replace any important files specific to Google Chrome and protecting against security vulnerability as it might be that .229 may only have a few additional files. *Another recommendation would be that both the .228 and .229 v for Google Chrome be listed as the latest release on Adobe Flash website page and release content. This may have been a timing issue. Google/Adobe might want to re-consider the timing/order in which they deploy their versions or re-consider the auto-update feature within Google Chrome all in itself to avoid confusion, avoid the need to then verify it anyway afterwards (an added step in itself) and avoid Google Chrome users that are completely unaware of this and what action to take, from updating to a different incompatible version that could possibly conflict with the requirements of Google Chrome or its security. However, everything would be resolved by the first recommendation. I did wonder why I just got prompted today for a release on March 28th, but luckily it looks like I have the latest version. And I did find it interesting how I noticed underneath the install for Adobe AIR that you may have to disable your anti-virus before installing.
I look forward to your feedback to my question confirming whether or not I should just to ignore this update. In effort to prevent PCs from future attacks, I provided my feedback and recommendations. Thank you.

Chrome was installed after 3/26. I am guessing these are for Active X for IE and they don’t look like the latest version. As I mentioned, when I checked with Adobe to see what version is running on my system it only displays the latest version for Google Chrome which is a current one. So one (a user) wouldn’t know of the other versions that need to be updated. You are correct that I thought there was only one version on my system. Thanks for informing me, I didn’t even search or think of that. If I forcefully download the update anyway, will it update both of these directories?
Also when you say, “Manually downloading or updating Flash Player from Adobe will not affect Chrome's installation of Flash Player.” I realize moving forward it wouldn’t affect future Chrome installs but did you also mean downloading .228 when I have .229 will not affect this currently the installed version?..…if built-in, does Google Chrome store any files on my system or is it completely built-in?

Restoring iPhone Via iTunes: Being prompted to update iPhone, despite iPhone already being up-to-date?

I am trying to restore my iPhone 5 after forgetting my 'Restrictions' password. However, after connecting it to my Macbook Pro and attempting to reset the iPhone through iTunes, I am prompted to allow iTunes to download the latest 7.0.4 update. However, my phone is already updated to this, as confirmed by iTunes itself.
I have tried everything, obviously onboard resetting on the iPhone isn't an option due to the fact I can't remember my 'Restrictions' password, and I have already downloaded this update on my Mac when it first came out, as well as Backed up my iPhone on both iCloud and my Mac... Yet I am still getting the same result

To remove the Restrictions Passcode you will need to Restore as New.
Restoring as New will Download the Latest iOS version for your Device and install it.

I am still using (and will not be updating) Windows XP. The details of a Firefox update indicate that the new version (which I don't need) may interfere with XP. I want to have Firefox cease and desist prompting me for an update. How can I do this? I just keep selecting "Ask me later". Is there a more permanent fix?

Firefox 32.0.3 works fine on WinXP and contains many important security patches - in fact the "nightly" Firefox 35 pre-release tester version works fine, too.

Itunes 9.1 won't open after 3/30/10 update

I let the software update prompt me to install the new version. It wouldn't open afterwards. I've gone through all of the troubleshooting articles and tips that I could execute and still none of them work. I've completely uninstalled all itunes, quicktime, and related components and then reinstalled. It still doesn't open. I'm a relatively happy (until now) itunes user, but I'm getting very frustrated and making contingency plans to recover my library and get it off of this laptop. Can anyone help me? Apple are you doing anything about this?

Hi People, thanks for your help. I had the same problem. After being prompted to update to iTunes Ver. 9.1 I went ahead and let it automatically update and install iTunes and Quicktime. After updating to Ver. 9.1, iTunes would not open or run on my Windows XP system. It would show up in "processes" as a running program but would not show up on my screen.
After reading your discussion about how Bonjour would interfere, I tried to uninstall it. It wouldn't uninstall because it is using one of the processes. I tried quite a few things including completely uninstalling all Apple programs and reinstalling iTunes. I manually uninstalled Bonjour. No luck!
Here's what you need to do. After reinstalling iTunes, Navigate to the Program Files\ Bonjour folder and rename this folder Bounjour.Old. Restart the computer. Bounjour service should not now show up as a service in Administrative Tools\Services. DELETE the Bonjour.old folder. THEN go to Control Panel - Remove Programs and REMOVE Bounjour. It will now uninstall sucessfully.
After doing this iTunes started right up, loaded all my old settings, and recognized my iPod just like normal. Hooray and good luck.

HT5624 I was prompted to update to ios7 so I did as usual. But this update has made my ipad a piece of junk. I am unable to access Siri, I can't read the faint print particularly those tiny letters on the top row which show the visited websites, etc.

I updated to iOS 7 last might after being prompted by Apple. This caused me to lose many useful features of my iPad2. First I find that Siri has disappeared. When I contacted Apple support, the guy who took my serial # and model # verified things on his end and said emphatically that I should have Siri, but could't help me find it. Another rep simply disconnected me after seeing that she was unable to help me with the problems. After wasting hours with these people and waiting several minutes for their promised supervisor to come online, I was again disconnected by them. My second major problem I wanted solved was the hard to read fine and faint print. I don't have good eyes and with iOS 7 on my iPad2 I am now unable to read the top row which has the list of websites in avery faint and fine print. I could read everything on my iPad until yesterday evening when I made the mistake of updating to iOS7. Till yesterday evening I loved my iPad but after that update to iOS 7 last night it is a piece of junk for me. Hope there is help somewhere out there to restore Siri and other useful features of iOS 6 or get iOS6 back on my ipad So I can use it again. The chat with apple support has not helped at all as they themselves did not know that Problems like the ones I mentioned to them even existed with this iOS 7. I want my iOS 6 back!!!! Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
