After BT stack installation smartphone cannot find "BT ActiveSync" service

After I updated the new BT stack 4.20.1, my smartphone could not find "BT ActiveSync" service on my laptop.
It only can find "Serial Port".
Below are my equipments.
Laptop: Portege R100
OS: Windows XP Professional.
Smartphone: Dodpod S300
Bluetooth Stack: 4.20.1
Bluetooth SD IO: Toshiba Bluetooth SD Card3
ActiveSync: 4.2

Sorry for coming back late...but finally I got my fingers on such a PDA.
First of all install ActiveSync on the PC side and select the proper COM port in ActiveSync, which is normally COM7 on the PC side.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]
SerialPort=COM7
Please double-check whether COM7 is the first Bluetooth server COMport {LocalCOM-Server} in [START]-[Control Panel]-[Bluetooth Local COM]
Now launch ActiveSync on the PDA side and tab on "Menu". On the next screen click on "Connect via Bluetooth". If you don't have an existing ActiveSync partnership a new window will appear. Tab on "Devices" and select "New Partnership". Now your remote PC will be discovered and a new ActiveSync partnership will be created. After that you should be able to sync with your PC.
Thay way worked on my side.

  • Smartphone cannot find "BT ActiveSync" service

I am using the new BT stack v5.10.17(F), my smartphone (HTC Diamond 2 using WM6.1) could not find "BT ActiveSync" service on my laptop.
It only can find "Serial Port".

Thanks, Tom.  As you can see, I was spelling it incorrectly!  Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
Actually, I am interested in getting better with some command line work, although I have to admit I'm tremendously rusty.  My last work with Unix was > 10 years ago.
    Appreciate the reply.
By the way, I'll also consider Carbon Copy Cloner.  Looks like a great program for point-and-click folks like me.

  • After upgrade to JHS Production: cannot find two standard java Classes

Hi, First: congratulations on the Production release. Great that it is there.
After making several backups, I have upgraded to JHS build 91 Production release (I came from JHS build 78).
    1. after upgrade to JHS Production, I tested my application first (so before re-enabling Jheadstart on the ViewController and regenerating pages). The application still worked fine
    2. I re-enabled JHeadstart on the VC project
    3. I opened my Applictation Definition Files and saved them (I noticed a deprecated property OverwriteUiModel that disappeared after saving)
    4. I ran the generator on my three App. Def. Files.
    5. I rebuild the whole application
    6. I ran the application, the first (Table-style) page comes up fine
    7. But when clicking on one of the records in the Table to navigate to the Form page...the Embedded OC4J exits with a fatal error:
Fatal error: Cannot find class java/lang/StackOverflowError
Fatal error: Cannot find class java/lang/NullPointerException
The last part of the log before these fatal errors is as follows:

Any idea why this might have happened, just because I upgrade to JHS production release?
I am reverting to build 78 again to continue developing, but hope to be able to get working with the prod release soon, but I lack knowledge to determine where the error occurs...

    Sandra,
I have the (ugly) feeling that I am facing the problem mentioned in http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1211326? : it looks like when a JSPX page gets too complex, the Embedded OC4J raises this StackOverFlow class notfound error :-(. Probably the (it only hits me when navigating to the most complex page) generated page generated with build 78 was fine, but the generated page after build 91 has become too complex, allthough nothing changed in between. What I can see from the difference between the before and after build 91 situation for all pages, is that you have added the <id=...> arguments to all ADF elements, like [id="PersonsSaveButton"] in:
    <af:commandButton actionListener="#{bindings.Commit.execute}"
                      action="Commit"
                      textAndAccessKey="#{nls['SAVE_BUTTON_LABEL_PERSONS']}"
                      id="PersonsSaveButton">
                   <af:resetActionListener/>
</af:commandButton>In build78 these were not there. As far as I can see another difference after generating with build 91 is a new element in the page:
<af:panelGroup rendered="#{(bindings.PersonsIterator.currentRowIndexInRange!=-1 and bindings.PersonsIterator.findMode!='true')}">I have not seen a proper solution for this on the JDeveloper forum. I noticed people asking if there is a kind of 'maximum' on how complex a page can get before this error situation happens. No answer on that found (you do not want to know there is a maximum anyway).
The specific page is a master with 5 stacked detail regions and three "use as LOV" groups. Further on about 30 domains are used...
And the page has not finished yet, it will get more "complex" that this. I hope someone knows a good solution so that I can continue to use the Embedded OC4J for testing, otherwise developing wil get very time consuming if I have to deploy to AS every time...something I cannot afford since the project deadline is getting nearer and nearer.

  • Installation error:  Cannot find a J2SE SDK installed at path C:\Program Fi

I am installing latest version of SQL Developer, Release 1.2. I have Sun Java 2 Standard Edition Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_10-b03). When I browse and select the java.exe found it comes up with error: Cannot find a J2SE SDK installed at patch
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_10
I am installing the version I downloaded for Windows systems with JDK1.5.
I have tried on two different machines.
    Any ideas?

This is going to seem loooong, but comprehensive.
I'd initially always suggest using the bundled
package, since that's supposed to be a tested and
proven combination. You know what, I'm gonna be mighty surprised if you're implying that Oracle hasn't 'tested and proven' the releases at http://www.oracle.com./technology/software/products/sql/index.html other than the first 77 MB download labeled Oracle SQL Developer for Windows... :)
After having problems with a graphics card for
example, installing the latest JDK might be
    indicated.Huh?!? Not a clue what you're talkin' 'bout! :S
It's also easy for users who don't know which Java
version to download, or even where to find it! You
guys have proven that: although it's stated you need
.First of all, it says right there on the download page (http://www.oracle.com./technology/software/products/sql/index.html) that:
"JDK 1.5 (JDK 5.0) is required. This is the minimum JDK version required"
And we've "proven that [..] although it's stated you need the JDK, [we]'ve tried running with the JRE" and have NOT been able to run the application. It just presents the user a dialog box to locate the 'SDK' manually and exits gracefully if you try to dismiss it. So, conclusively proven, the JDK (or as SQL Developer puts it, Java SDK) is required- QED.
And given users might have several versions running
on the same machine (I have half a dozen), sqldev
could easily pick up a wrong version. And every JRE installation (atleast all of Sun's) make sure they update the default (via PATH and other required system variables) JRE point to the latest one installed. So if you have anything 1.5+ you're good to go; if not, you've got an incompatile JRE. Doesn't sound that hard to me!
As for being bulky, even without the bundled JDK, it
still is.Ya missed the point. Developers are making Java applications bulkier by including the JRE/JDK with their distributions. A SQL Developer release sans JDK is about 46 MB; with JDK that climbs to 77 MB (sizes quoted from download page linked above).
Imagine what happens when you have, besides SQL Developer (JDK 1.5 included), some-cool-java-app that also includes the JRE/JDK it was built on; and then another-java-app that also includes a JRE/JDK... I bet JDeveloper also comes with a JDK bundled in. So, now you have FOUR copies of JRE/JDK (aside from the "have half a dozen" that probably installed themselves via Java Update Checker)!
Here's the big picture, the savings in disk space would only be the beginning of your benefits. Here's a few others:
    - Class Data Sharing (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/vm/class-data-sharing.html) introduced in Java SE 5.0 provides for storing definitions of commonly used classes in a representation closer to machine code, even closer than bytecode, this reducing load and startup time. Plus all VM's launced using that particular distribution get to share the cache- Performace+ !!
Running each app offa' it's own VM just causes multiple caches to be loaded. You just multiplied your losses! :(
    - Sun is currently working on a way to have applications simply inject into a running JVM. That way, there is no load and startup time for the JVM, just the time to load you app classes. Using different distros would completely defeat this!
(The reason why this feature isn't out yet is because they're still trying to make it possible to specify hitherto VM configurations like security and logging as application configurations. Then there's also the issue of setting up class loading boundaries between applications.
You say you don't have to bring over the VB runtime
for each app? I remember in the 90's doing it all the
time. Of course, being MS, now that's not necessary
anymore, since it's "magical" Windows. I don't have
any machine from Sun, but for sure they've got Java
bundled with it, right?I don't believe you had to do that since VB 5; and that's because MS realized that they messed up on this very point upto then! Sun worked the simple solution to that into their deployment strategy- install only ONE runtime and run all apps off that. As for you're half-a-dozen, I think you can safely uninstall the five older versions; because, even today, people are running apps developed using JDK1.1 on Java SE 6.0!
Again, I find the most logical difference between JRE
and JDK being the debugger. As you say it yourself:
JRE for end-users, who don't need to do any
    debugging.
Now, sqldev is not just a table browser, but also for
debugging PL/SQL. 1 + 1 = 2.I think it's a little naive to differentiate between the JRE and JDK on just the debugger! Aside from the obvious inclusion of a compiler, the JDK has several other tools for monitoring/managing the heap, threads and logging on the fly. There's also the Doclet API and Sun's javadoc implementation, dev interfaces for instrumenting the VM, native interfaces, ...
And I reiterate, we're talkin' PL/SQL developers here. Why would I want to give a PL/SQL developer a Java Development Kit?!? ;|
Nevertheless, as said in the other thread, if the
team discloses how to circumvent the SDK check at
startup, you can go ahead and use the JRE. In any
case, you'd have to agree that won't work as
out-of-the-box solution...You're right, it won't work like a standard Windows OOTB app. But, it WILL work as a Java OOTB that only mandates that there be a JRE available; just like the scores of Java apps out there- from tiny little Pong clones to large IDE's like NetBeans.
BTW, don't even think about quoting Websphere/Rational/Eclipse as counter-arguments. They are the biggest offenders as far as this issue goes. And jikes is an abomination, a curse Sun must carry as a result to opening the VM Spec. But, I digress...

  • Installation Failure: Cannot find Office.en-us\OfficeMUISet.msi

Upon installing MS Professional Plus 2010, I repeatedly received "the installation encountered an error and will now close." Consequently, I attempted to uninstall all previous versions of MS on my computer; however, this was unsuccessful with the Add and
Remove Programs utility and FixIt solutions, leading me to follow a guide to uninstall MS 2007 manually to remove MS 2010 (I could not find a similar guide for 2010). Now when I attempt to install MS 2010, I receive the error that legacy MS Groove software
is on my computer, conflicting with my MS SharePoint Workspace. Furthermore, when deselecting SharePoint from installation, I receive another error that the installer cannot find Office.en-us\OfficeMUISet.msi.
    I am running a 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
Any information on how to help me fix this problem would be appreciated greatly.

For those of you who are still having problems, this solution worked for me. If you're feeling a little daring, follow these steps to delete all office registries:
    Hotkey Win + R
Type regedit, enter and accept UAC prompt
File export to desktop to make registery back up
    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Office
Delete as much items within the folder as you can
There might be other Office folders around the same parent directory. Look around and delete. This worked for me after trying many different methods, good luck!

While trying to install Solaris 8 freeware on an AMD K6 233 with 128
Mo of RAM, a primary master hard drive with 1.4 Go capacity, an Atapi
    CD-Rom
as primary slave and a 6 Go hard drive as secondary master with Linux
installed, I had the following error message:
    - Boot on DCA Floppy with CD Soft n1:
    boot: cannot find misc/krtld
    - ~with the install CD-Rom
    (...) no dump device configured
    rebooting ...
Is there solutions for this problem ?

    [boot] - ~with the install CD-Rom
    (...) no dump device configured
rebooting ...This one looks like a kernel panic. You can try to get more information
about the cause of the panic by booting with "kadb" installed. Boot
from the "Software 1 of 2" CD-Rom, and at the "1 interactive or 2
custom jumpstart" type "b kadb -v" instead of 1 or 2.
If the kernel panics when "kadb" is loaded you can read the complete
stack trace and other low-level information about the panic. If you
post the information the kernel provides for the panic here, maybe
someone can give an educated guess about the possible cause for
    the panic.
You should also provide a detailed list of hardware installed in your
system (like additional NIC cards, e.g. recent 3com cards are know
to crash the solaris kernel), and which solaris 8 update release
    you're trying to install.

  • Installation Error, Cannot find "CrossRef"

I am trying to install Lync 2013 on a new server and I'm having an issue while preparing Forest, this is the error I am getting.

Have you looked at the note on Enable-CSAdForest?

  • BPC 7.0 Server Installation Problem - Cannot connect to reporting services

I am upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0 version for SAP BPC.  Everything went smooth on the development server (single instance installation including SQL Server 2005 developers edition 32bit, web, reporting and application services on the same server). I tried to repeat the same process on the test server, and the installation went off the rails.  I started with clean installations of SQL Server 2005 on both servers.
When I try to install the BPC server software, I get to the point of access to the report server, and everything stops. I get the following message: Cannot connect to reporting services.  I have verified the reporting server name, and I have verified that the server name is correct in the installation panel. I have also verified that the reporting server is configured, started, and that there are no errors.
    Any advice?

    Hi Sorin,
Thanks for the tip, but this was not the case.  The problem was solved by re-loading the OS. Using Windows Server 2003 gave an issue during the re-installation of the SQL Server database. The problem was in the installation itself. After a clean install of both the OS and SQL Server, then SAP BPC 7 worked. The installation does require a number of tweaks, particularly, in my case, the entire Management console must be configured, even if not being used.
    This problem is now solved.

  • After iTunes 10 installation I cannot open iTunes now

I've just tried to install iTunes 10 on my pc laptop and during the installation I got the following alert:
After the first attempt I removed iTunes from the laptop via the control panel and tried the install again. Same thing happened!
I removed iTunes again then removed the installer file and restarted the laptop. I then downloaded the installer file again and I keep getting the same issue.
I have also removed Quicktime to see if that helped but it didn't
I've googled this and found a site that suggested using a windows clean-up utility tool but this is no longer available so I'm wondering if there is an alternative fix?
There are some other posts on here with links to this clean up file via a 3rd party vendor but I really don't want to go down that route unless absolutely required.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Also, is it possible to download iTunes 9 and reinstall that?
I currently have no iTunes on the laptop which...
Some additional info if it helps:
OS - Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
    Laptop - Acer TravelMate 5520G
    CPU - AMD Turion 64 1.90 GHz
    RAM - 2GB DDR2
    Thanks
    Bryan

I had a similar problem, I got the message that there was a problem with the installer, but I also got an error number 2203. I searched the web,and one person advised running the windows disc checker. Right click on the C drive icon, select tools, then check disc. It worked. But also I had a program called PC optimizer, which I also ran. So I can't tell you which program fixed it, but it did work. Hope this helps.

  • My ITunes had frozen on my Mac Laptop, so I uninstalled it. I went to the Apple website and reinstalled, after reinstalling, the ITunes I cannot find out how to open it. How would I open it?

My iTunes had frozen so I uninstalled it. I then proceeded to reinstall it. After I got the "Installation complete" message I closed the download, but iTunes was nowhere to be found. I reinstalled it again and again but iTunes would never appear and I was incapable of opening it. Where/how might I be able to open iTunes?

As with anything on the Mac click on the search icon (magnifying glass far right next to the clock) and write iTunes then hover over the result for a second and the "Path:" will show up for you to follow.
