After Client update to 4.7.209.0, ScRegSetValueExW errors on 2008R2

Hello,
I am getting the following error "The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for FailureCommand with the following error: Access is denied." on all 2008r2 boxes that have the System Center Endpoint Protection client update 4.7.209.0.
It doesn't seem to affect the actual machine but still would like to resolve this.

Hi, we have exactly the same problem here on 2008R2 (majority with SQL Services) Servers after client update 4.7.209.0
This event seems to appear when the patterns are updated.
It clearly doesn't affect the machine but the Monitoring Team isn't so happy ;) Any idea to
resolve this ?
Yeah, I hope someone from Microsoft can chime in on this. I had to tune our alerts with custom conditions that are available through SQL Sentry, so that we don't get these alerts in particular. But still really curious as to how to resolve this as this happened
after the Client update. This issue was also in 4.7.205.0 that they revoked last month.

    We noticed the same behavior when upgrading clients from SP1 to R2. A bug has been filed on Connect:

    I have been starting to roll out the 11.3.1 ZEN agent to my client workstations. A number of the clients have been failing (Update Completed with Errors). Re-deploying the update to these devices does not appear to correct the failure. The devices are running ZEN agent version 11.2.3, using the full location awareness.

    This led me to TID 7014326, which looks to be the issue I am having however the FTF is for the 11.2.4 update. Is there any other workarounds for this issue or an updated FTF that applies to the 11.3.1 update?

    Hi
    Don't know of any FTF's on this issue... did you try the workaround from TID 7014326?

    Select a broken track and press ctrl-i to Get Info. Look on the summary tab for the location where iTunes "thinks" the file should be. Where is it really? Post back the two locations and I can suggest the best approach.

  • Can't connect to SL mini after laptop update to Lion

    Situation:
    - Mac Mini on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (mini-old)
    - Mac Mini on Lion 10.7.4 (mini-new)
    - Macbook Pro on Lion 10.7.4, update from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 since yesterday
    I used to be able to connect file sharing and screen sharing from the laptop to both mini's. Since the update to Lion on my laptop, I can't connect to mini-old from the laptop.
    - file sharing from laptop to mini-old before the lion update -> worked
    - screen sharing from laptop to mini-old before the lion update -> worked
    - file sharing from mini-new to mini-old -> works
    - screen sharing from mini-new to mini-old -> works
    - file sharing from laptop to mini-new -> works
    - screen sharing from laptop to mini-new -> works
    - file sharing from laptop to mini-old after lion update, with guest -> works
    - file sharing from laptop to mini-old after lion update, with registered user -> endless pinwheel, no error in console
    - screen sharing from laptop to mini-old after lion update -> endless pinwheel, no error in console
    - ssh user@mini-old from laptop to mini-old after lion update -> works
    So I can safely assume the settings on mini-old are ok (haven't been changed in many months).
    I've tried deleting the caches with OnyX on the laptop, but that didn't help.

    Update: 'several' minutes = 10
    Same goes for the file sharing.
    I've tried the screen sharing a 2nd time to see if it speeds up, but it doesn't. :-( Don't know yet what's going on, because the connection from the mini-new is instantly.
    FYI: all three are on the same local network, so no remote 'across the internet' issues.
    Anybody?

    I found the following tip from another user that seems to be a similar error. I'd give the steps they provide a shot and see if that resolves the issue:

  • Mail 2.0.5 CRASHES ON OPEN after Security Update 2005-009(Tiger Client)

    I'm trying to figure out how to fix this.
    I rebooted into a techtool pro e-drive and repaired permissions (as well as some other repairs to the drive, etc), but it still is crashing.
    I created a new user and opened mail just fine there.
    So... it is something in my account. Not sure exactly what to do next?

    I'm having the same exact problem. (See Mail 2.0.5 crashes when I get new mail). I deleted my preferences & my junk mail settings, to no avail.
    A remarkable number of other people are posting with similar problems, just in the past week or so alone, and as far as I can tell, no one has figured it out. There is definitely a bug here. I have a hunch that it may be related to a recent software update. I'm going to post this to the other threads in hopes of garnering some attention from Apple.
    For posterity's sake, I am connecting to a Gmail account, a POP account, and a .Mac account.

  • Leopard 10.5.6, Kernel Panic after Airport Client Update 2009-001

    Hi Mac users,
    Actually I'm working for an international school and we have a lot of students with Mac computers. Since 2 weeks now, all Mac crashed (Kernel Panic) several times per day. This issue seems arrived just after the Airport Client Update 2009-001.
    As we didn't perform any change on our wireless infrastructure, we think it's an Airport issue.

    "My issues have mostly disappeared"
    Do you still have issues?. I just spent all Sunday and half morning until I found it was paragon. Not only It panicked every time I logged in, also screwed my time capsule disk (couldn't restore from it). With so many restarts I had a really corrupted RAID disk so since this is my second full reinstall with no time machine, I don't want to get even close to Paragon unless it runs flawless.
    I hope this may help: My solution now is Parallels over a NTFS bootcamp partition. I have a full NTFS disk which I use to bootcamp, since parallels allows you run over it instead of a virtual disk NTFS on HFS+. You can read and write back and forth.

  • Trigger does not work after client upgrade to 8.1.7

    I use a simple trigger to keep a table in three databases synchronized
    all worked fine with client 8.0.5 server 8.1.6.
    Now we are testing client 8.1.7 because another application needs it.
    The front end application is in vb (third party)accessing the db via
    odbc.
    the trigger looks like this:
    and I have two database links for mcct and mcc
    TRIGGER copy_ap
    after insert or update on aptabelle
    for each row
    begin
    if updating then
    update aptabelle@mcct set
    apraum = :new.apraum,
    apmemo = :new.apmemo,
    apfree = :new.apfree,
    apnetadress = :new.apnetadress,
    apkhfarefnr = :new.apkhfarefnr
    where aprefnr=:new.aprefnr;
    update aptabelle@mcc set
    apraum = :new.apraum,
    apmemo = :new.apmemo,
    apfree = :new.apfree,
    apnetadress = :new.apnetadress,
    apkhfarefnr = :new.apkhfarefnr
    where aprefnr=:new.aprefnr;
    else
    insert into aptabelle@mcct
    ( APREFNR, APNAME, APRAUM, APMEMO,
    APFREE, APNETADRESS, APKHFAREFNR )
    VALUES
    (:new.aprefnr,:new.apname,:new.apraum,
    :new.apmemo,:new.apfree,:new.apnetadress,:new.apkhfarefnr);
    insert into aptabelle@mcc
    ( APREFNR, APNAME, APRAUM, APMEMO,
    APFREE, APNETADRESS, APKHFAREFNR )
    VALUES
    (:new.aprefnr,:new.apname,:new.apraum,
    :new.apmemo,:new.apfree,:new.apnetadress,
    :new.apkhfarefnr);
    end if;
    end;
    Now after the update I can still get the trigger doing it's job when
    i do a manual update with toad or sql*plus.
    But if the change is done in the vb front end application I get an
    error and I can't save or make any changes at all.
    I updated the odbc driver to 8.1.7.6 but that did not solve the
    problem.
    Is there an default session limit, connection limit introduced as a
    default with 8.1.7 that could keep this trigger from running?
    Or is there a mistake and the 8.0.5 client just did not bother?
    Why can the local client version influence a trigger running on the
    server anyways?
    Any suggestions where to search?
    thanks
    alex

    It's neither an odbc nor an oracle error message.
    It's just a window with Error/Warning in the title bar and the Text "Error while saving"
    with an Ok Button.Seems you are using windows ...
    How is the trigger run when it's called from the application.
    One thing I noticed is a change in tnsname.ora the three databease we use were just called mcc, mcct and mccp
    now they are called mmc.world an so on
    In the odbc config I have to use these names, but if I create the database links with .world they don't work.
    I also have to use the new names for login in SQL*Plus while the database links don't work with the new scheme.
    As I said the whole thing works in pure sql.Just an idea. Maybe your new odbc-middleware makes a read-after-write, thats a select to check if the update was ok. This will fail since you change the updated values in the trigger.
    But it should be possible to switch the read-after-write off via configuration.

  • Problem with Java after Software Update to 10.5.7

    Hi,
    I am facing problem with Java after having run Software upgrades.
    Here is the whole story. I recently moved to iMac 10.5.6 from PowerPc 10.4. On this new machine I was having problem running a 3rd party application, which requires JVM. As this application worked well on Tiger, I decided to upgrade JVM on my iMAC using Software Upgrade(was I insane!!). As I like my systems to be updated (as with linux on my personal machine) I clicked "install all". As a result I have the following upgrades run on my machine:
    2009-05-20 13:12:01 +0200: Installed "Mac OS X Update Combined" (10.5.7)
    2009-05-20 13:12:10 +0200: Installed "Remote Desktop Client Update" (3.2.2)
    2009-05-20 13:12:26 +0200: Installed "Java For Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2" (1.0)
    2009-05-20 13:58:36 +0200: Installed "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 3" (1.0)
    2009-05-20 13:58:44 +0200: Installed "AirPort Utility Software Update 2009-001" (5.4.1)
    2009-05-20 13:59:07 +0200: Installed "QuickTime" (7.6)
    2009-05-20 13:59:22 +0200: Installed "iPhoto Update" (7.1.5)
    2009-05-20 13:59:28 +0200: Installed "iLife Support" (9.0.2)
    2009-05-20 13:59:38 +0200: Installed "iDVD Update" (7.0.3)
    2009-05-20 13:59:58 +0200: Installed "iTunes" (8.1.1)
    But now, simply running $java on the prompt hangs, i.e. it takes no action.
    $ which java
    /usr/bin/java
    $ ls -ltr /usr/bin/java
    May 20 15:09 /usr/bin/java -> /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java

    Hi,
    I am facing problem with Java after having run Software upgrades.
    $ which java
    /usr/bin/java
    $ ls -ltr /usr/bin/java
    May 20 15:09 /usr/bin/java -> /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java
