What happens when you attempt to play a Netflix movie?
I would update your SilverLight (which is what netflix uses).

I have the same problem with my Conceptronic CH3HNAS and have found a free and easy solution.
Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.

My mac book pro is running super slow after downloading Lion. Its so slow and all I see is the beach ball wait icon. Also my safari and firefox internet apps crash like crazy. What can I do? Hate it!

I also have this problem. My MacBook pro was brand new in august, but i bought it just a few days before the release of lion so i installed lion after i bought it. Only used it 1 day with whatever was on it before and seemed to work fine.
Ive been too busy to do anything about it but im very annoyed by how slow it is so i have to do something now, what can I do? can someone help with some specific steps? someone posted something about changing the network settings but I wasnt sure if that applied in europe (spain)... any guideance in non-technical terms please?

Damaged software display after downloading lion or upgrading.
When i want to upgrade my software evryting works fine.
But after the download is done it says that the software is damaged.
How can i fix this problem because i have done this so many times but it still stays the same ?

Have you tried repairing your hard drive? Reboot from your Mac OS X install disk (hold down C with the disk in the drive at startup), choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, select your hard drive and click Repair Disk.

PhotoStream is purely a conduit for transferring pictures added to or taken on one device onto all the others seamlessly. Photos are held there only for 30 days. There is no way of accessing, viewing or deleting individual photos; you can reset the entire Photostream, erasing everything.

Safari is now VERY slow after downloading Lion

My Safari (which is the latest version) is now VERY slow after downloading Lion. It takes forever for anything to load, and some pages don't load at all anymore. Any way to fix this? It is very frustrating!

I've just made a change to try to keep the wifi from crashing and it also seems to give me a speed boost online.
Go into your System Preferences, choose Network, and then in that dialog box choose "Advanced..."
Once there, select the DNS tab.
Click the plus sign and add the following to your list of DNS servers:
8.8.8.8
It's Google's public DNS and seems to have fixed both the dropping and speed issues.

I have been trying to fix a similar issue on my wife's PowerBookG4. I cannot pin point when it started, but she noticed it a couple weeks ago when she tried burning a disc. We have come to discover that her drive will no longer mount any discs at all (blank or otherwise burned discs or software). If I had to make a guess it had to have started in the last month or so after some recent update. Maybe 10.5.2? I am not sure.
I am getting extremely frustrated with Apple though on this matter because I have been browsing multiple forums and seeing this exact issue over and over again and nobody seems to have a solution or correct diagnostic for it.
I have tried zapping PRAM, I have tried many types of discs, brands, etc. and nothing works. I know this is a Software issue, it has to be. There are a LOT of people reporting this issue. If necessary I will start linking to all the different posts that I found in the last few days.
Please post some help, ASAP. This has been a major inconvenience and I cannot believe that Apple hasn't discovered the problem with how many people have been reporting it.

How can I reconnect to internet after downloading lion

After a few days of downloading Lion, I keep having the problem of connecting to the internet. My other devices are able to connect to the internet. I have tried using the diagnostic in settings, and restarted my modem, but nothing works.

Power cycle your modem and your Wi-Fi router (pull the power cords on both devices, next plug in your modem first. Wait until your modem initializes - about 30 seconds. Now plug in your router.)
Reboot your computer and login to your new user account. Go into System Prefs>Network>Airport
Turn the Airport on if it is off. Using the network drop down menu, do you see your network on the list? Can you connect to it?

I am trying to download Silverlight to use Netflix, however I just get a silverlight_developer.pkg that opens in Terminal and nothing happens.

I have Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 and I'm having trouble downloading Silverlight to watch Netflix. I've tried several different ways from researching online. It just downloads a silverlight_developer.pkg and when I open it it opens in Terminal and says Silverlight_Developer.pkg-bash-80x24. I'm not a computer genius so I don't knwo what any of this means, but I knwo its not right. Please help!!

Garageband won't open after downloading Lion, what should I do?

I downloaded Lion from the app store, now my garageband won't open. Also I use Pro tools 8.4 and that won't work either!
I would appreciate any help or advice.

If it is the third party apps crashing - try downloading another app - any free app is fine. See if that resets the other apps.

I have just finished downloading Lion to my desktop and on launching it I note a no entry sign is fixed over my icons for 'W' 'X' 'E' (ilife?)
The error message when I attempt to open them says:
"you can't open application Microsoft Excel because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Does this mean I have lost Word, Excel and Entourage or have I done something wrong here.
I would really appreciate any constructive tips and am keeping my fingers crossed that there is an easy fix for this????

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

Invalid File after Downloading from Database using JSP/JDev 10.1.2

Hi, i got a problem when i download a file from my blobColumn in database.
Well, actually i got no problem in reading the file out of database, but when i download this file, there are 3 more bytes then in the original one in Database...
Here's my java-code in the jsp-page i used as "save as" field:

There are 3 bytes 0A(hex) at the beginning...
I dont know why.
after closing "outs" i made system.out for checking the amount of bytes in "fileBytes"-Array, and it was correct, just the 28 bytes like in the file from the Database.
But i actually dont get, why there are 3 more bytes at the beginning after downloading it.
The main problem is, some other files like word or excel documents cannt be opened, because of this 3 bytes at the beginning, and they seem to be invalid.
Would be glad if someone can help me, got really stuck and have no idea any more.
