I recently changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 and am trying to download iTunes to Windows 7. When I do that , the download is saved. What is next step?

Run the installer... as with any other installer on Windows, double-click on the file to launch it.

  • My iTunes on Windows XP freezes when I try to change airplay device.

I can successfully stream from iTunes (on a Windows XP Pro PC) via Airplay without any difficulties.  However, at times when I change airplay devices (I think generally when I disconnect from them), my iTunes crashes.  Has anyone else had that problem.  If you have a successful fix, I'd appreciate it.

    Hello decramer,
I recommend this article named iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1421.
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up
After clicking "Continue", determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you see the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the Create a New User Account section below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-insfor steps on how to remove third-party plug-ins.Create a New User AccountWhen troubleshooting a variety of issues, it can be useful to determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows XP:
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
    Open User Accounts.
Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
Log in to the newly created user account.
Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.
If you see the same issue in the newly created user account, proceed to the System-wide troubleshootingsection below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult the User-specific troubleshooting section below.

  • Blocked file after downloading iTunes on Windows XP

I have downloaded the iTunes onto my Windows XP from apple.com/ipod/start. However, each time I try to open file, I get the same message: "Windows found problem. Unknown publisher. iTunes set-up.exe, blocked file." I am so frustrated!!! I bought an iPod Nano for my 11-year-old for his birthday and haven't been able to access a thing! Please help. Since I am "new" to this whole iPod thing, I need explicit instructions on how to fix the problem. Thanks for your help!

  • Downloaded Itunes to Windows 8. When opening Itunes error message 'Apple Application Support is required to run ITunes. Please uninstall Itunes, then install ITunes again.' I have uninstalled and reinstalled still same error received.

I downloaded ITunes onto my computer with Windows 8. Each time I try to open it I get the same error of "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is reuired to run iTues. Please uninstall ITunes, then install ITunes again. Error 2 (Windows error 2)". I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it multiple times and continue to get the same error. I am unsure of how to fix this.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Trying to download itunes for windows 7 and when i open the installer it says the file is corrupt? what do I do?

I have tried to download it mutiple times, restarted my computer and tried again but it still says corrupt file. any idea what the problem is and how I may be able to fix it?

    Okay.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I found htis other post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3401328?start=0&tstart=0
I also found this in another post
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • Hi, I have downloaded itunes on windows 7,when I click on the itunes icon on my desktop nothing happens,it does not open itunes, can anyone help me with why it does not open or know how I can open itunes, thanks.

Hi, I have downloaded itunes on windows 7,when I click the icon on my desktop nothing happens, does anyone know why itunes does not open?

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name.  (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud.  Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.)  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library.  If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account.  To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
