After downloading the newer version of Firefox, I now cannot open the NYTimes crossword puzzle with Across lite (I could do it before). Help!

Yestereday I downloaded the newer version of Firefox. I also as recommended did the same for Adobe Flash. When I went to NYTimes site to print a crossword puzzle (as I do everyday) using AcrossLite, I got this error message: /Users/mary/Downloads/Jun0911-1.puz could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.
I tried updating AcrossLite to see if that made a difference. I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.7

Mozilla are aware of the issue in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release.

Even when I do accept the risks the site no longer looks the way it's looked for years. ok, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

In the previous versions of Firefox when you went to you Bookmarks menu it gave you the options to either Bookmark This Page 'command' + 'D', Subscribe to this Page, Bookmark All Tabs 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'D', and Organize Bookmarks 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'B' however in the newest version of Firefox there is no Bookmark All Tabs so you can bookmark all the tabs that you have up in one window at a time. So I need to know if it is possible that the feature is now in a different place, is gone altogether, or if you can get that feature another way?
For me personally and my work I go through hundreds of web pages a day and save around half of those so it is imperative that I be able to bookmark more then one tab at a time because I can't be bothered to bookmark every single page separately and then go through hundreds of tabs in my Unsorted bookmarks in order to sort those bookmarks. It is simple inconvenient to sort every bookmark individually that is why the previous version of Firefox with the Bookmark All Tabs button was superior in its convenience.

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar. 
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button. 
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button. 
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab. 
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

What is the exact text of the message you get. Take a screen shot (command/shift/4 and post it. Also, what do you see regarding iTunes if you go to App Store/Updates?

Since loading the new version of Firefox it will not open. When I try to download Firefox 4 or older versions I get a messase that says I must close Firefox first. Everything else is closed!

A new version of Firefox downlaoded the other day and now Firefox will not open at all. I tried to redownload version 4 and an earlier version (3.6) but I get a message that says that "Firefox must be close first in order to continue". There was no other box open at that time. As I said, the other day I had downloaded the latest version of Firefox and after doing so none of the icons for the different websites that normally go to are no longer there. Websites such as MSNBC, MSN, Most visited, that entire strip is no longer visible. I tired resetting Firefox and still nothing. Can anyone tell me how to get them to appear again? It's a hassle every time that I want to go to one of those sites I have to type it in the search bar, instead of just clicking on it as I did before. Please keep in mind if you answer, that I'm still learning about these things called computers and not very well versed in some of the things that you experts know:) Thanks

On Windows XP Firefox shows the menu bar by default and not the orange Firefox menu button that is shown when the menu bar is hidden. 
The menu bar is the toolbar at the top that shows menu items like File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help. 
You can press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily in case this bar is hidden (View > Toolbars or Firefox > Options).
The Navigation Toolbar shows the Back and forward button and the input field where you type the address of a site that you want to visit (aka location bar) and also has a search bar where you can type items that you want to look up with a search engine (Google).

It shouldn't be necessary to reboot the computer to complete an update. 
Download a fresh copy of Firefox ([http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html]) and do a reinstall of Firefox on top of the current version. 
You may need to do a clean install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
