• After editing photos in iPhoto

There are some photos that I have edited and would like to have them remain permanently in their edited format. After editing photos I open iTunes to update (sync) my photos onto my iPhone and iPod, however the photos that I edited remain in the original condition on my iPhone and iPod. Is there any way to have the edited photos synced in the edited condition when syncing my photos to my iPhone & iPod?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Here's how to use PSE correctly with iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

• After editing a fillable PDF, how do I make it not editable?

after editing a fillable PDF, how do I make it not editable?

Hi,
Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide this functionality. However, we have made a note of the same and shall try to incorporate it in one of our future releases.
Thanks.

• Unable toupdate an album after editing photos externally (i.E.: photoshop)

I took a photo album and converted it to a book. After laying out my book, I want to edit the photo's externally with Photoshop (Removing date stamp on digital images, better effects and quality control).
How do I update my album/book with the changed/edited images?

To get iPhoto to recognize the edits when using a 3rd party editor like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements you first must select it in iPhoto's General preference section's Edit photo: menu.
Next, double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing and hit the Save button, if you get the JPEG Options window at the next step just go ahead and click on OK.
However, if you get the navigation window indicating that PS wants to save it as a PS file you'll need to select jpeg from the menu and save or click on the desktop in the Navigation window and save it to the desktop and import it as a new photo.
Editing a photo in PS directly from the Finder will result in iPhoto not knowing that the file has been edited and it won't show up in the Modified folder nor will the thumbnail be updated.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

• After editing photos on the iPhoto can i keep the original date of the picture,(when it was taken).thanks

can i recover the original date of the picture whenit was taken after editing with iphoto.

You do not need to do anything - editing a photo in iPhoto does not modify the original date of the photo - that is a part of the photo informatiopn (in the EXIF data) - the only way to modify it with iPhoto is to use the modify date/Time command

• File size augments after editing a form? How to reduce size?

Hello,
I have been building a form and found that the size of my file grew after I made 'edits' onto (ie: changing the wording of the original form scanned onto Acrobat Pro X, changing the font colour some letters etc.)
Question 1: Is this normal?
Question 2: How to reduce the size of the file? (I am aware of the option that I could save the pdf into a version that's higher (by selecting anything between 6 to 10) and that would reduce the size of the pdf.
BUT, I also learned that if the end-user, who will receive my form and fill it in, do not have that particular version that I've saved it to, then s/he could not fill in the form!!
Is there a solution to my problem? Please help!
*I am using Acrobat Pro X.

Thank you all for your responses!
Yes, I always save my file as PDF. Just not reduced its size by saving it to a particular version.
to 'Test Screen Name', there is a misunderstanding on option 2. I referred to it so that I can save the file into a version like version 8.0 or higher. But, I understood from earlier discussions in the forum here, that people may still have earlier versions of reader (ie 6.0 or lower?) and so that's why I suggested having a link for download.
Even with that, I don't know how savvy my end-users may be to download. I 've had problems where people read my file using Apple and that caused problems.

• IPhoto 6.0.4 crashing after editing photo in Elements 3.0

After I edit a photo in Elements 3.0 (double-click to edit, make changes, save as JPEG, max quality, close) and click back to iPhoto, iPhoto crashes suddenly (no error message). Thereafter, I cannot view the photo I edited in full screen mode, nor can I view the photo adjacent to it in the roll. The link to the full-size photo, as opposed to the thumbnail, appears to be corrupt. Opening iPhoto while holding down shift+option doesn't help.

I'm assuming you've setup iPhoto to use Photoshop Elements when you double click on a thumbnail, right?
Try downloading and running BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. See if that will help.
If not create a new library, import a couple of photos and try editing with PSE as you do in the other library. If that one crashes then it's either an iPhoto problem or a system wide problem. If it doesn't crash, try rebuilding the library by launching iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and following the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all the options.

• Help? -After editing, photos are frozen and cannot be burnt, emailed etc...

Hello, I am new to iphoto. After I edit a photo (enhance image) I cannot do anything with the file. I can't burn it to a cd, or email it for photofinishing. What am i doing wrong?

Here are the steps: 1. I download picture from my Canon Powershot S30, 2. I enlarge the images as to fit one at a time on my screen. 3. I rotate the image selected, then if needed I crop or click on the magic wand icon to improve color and contrast. 4. I click END. 5. A small dialog box appears to inform me that the changes are being saved.
After these steps, I insert an empty cd and try burning images via the disk utility that came with my computer. The files all appear as "ghosts". There are no error messages.
Same goes when I try to upload the files on Walmart photocentre. It seems the revised files are not recognized and cannot be uploaded even though they are in jpeg format.
Hope these details are helpful, thank you for your quick response.

• Digital Photo Frame df1010v2 - how to download photos in the order they appear on USB?

Photos installed nicely into my df1010v2 digital photo frame, but not in the order I wanted them. I had painstakingly named all of them by date, and they appeared chronologically on the USB drive I copied them from, but they downloaded in random bunches.

Does anyone know why this happened and whether there is a fix? Pictures are for my 90-year-old mother, and the weird order will confuse her. I do not have frame set to view in random sequence, but that's how they will appear to her

P.S. Many of the photos are scans of old photos, so setting them to appear by date taken will not work here.

Thank you for any help!

Hi,
If you are happy with PSE 6, why not continue to use it?
PSE 13 can display the images in date/time order like PSE 6 does. The time doesn't appear when you hover over a thumbnail but can be displayed below the thumbnail. The best thing is for you to download the trial version (select version 13 from the following link) and try it for 30 days to see if you like it.
Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10
If you use the trial, to see the date and time under each thumbnail you need to go to the View menu in the organizer and ensure that Details is checked.

• After Editing, Photos Change

This was happening in iPhoto 8 and still after installing iPhoto 11...same problem. After an edit, the photo changes, not back to original, but to something other than what I edited. The thumb will show the corrupted version, but when I go back in to re-edit, the photo changes back to my originally desired changes. After getting back out, the thumb will be appear corrupted again.
After moving to desktop and opening with Preview or emailing to another computer, it shows the corrupted photo.
This started after updating to Maverick.

NO!
You NEVER inmport one iPhoto library into another iPhoto library
This was a test - it shows that iPhoto is OK andy your library need to be fixed
backup your iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and from the resulting first aid window rebuild your thumbnails and then repeat and rebuild yhour database

• After editing, photos now look blurry

The photos out of my digital SLR camera were really crisp right after upload to iPhoto; but after straightening and using the editing tools while in full screen mode, the photos now look a little blurry. Any ideas?

Hi all,
I've noticed the same problem.
But clearly this blur does not affect the picture files as they are saved on your disk. It's probably just a question of optimized display when looking at pictures in iPhoto.
Take a crisp image, import it into iPhoto. Now simply crop it a bit (you don't even need to rotate it !). When looking at it in full screen, it will now look much softer than the original one, you can check this by pressing the shift key. But now press "1" to see it at 100% : your image is not blurred, it's just badly displayed !
Same problem when simply opening an image in Preview.app -- since leopard there are some fancy zoom animations, but images look indeed very soft at everything but 100%
Hope they will fix this soon, It's frustrating to look at softened images from a marvelous camera ...

• After editing, photo goes to end of film strip and I lose my place

In the beta, in develop mode, I would work on a file, go to CS3 for some editing, then back, and then export jpeg. Now, my work flow gets a little messed up with 1.1 because after I export, the photo I was working on disappears to the end of the film strip and my film strip is at the end. So, I keep losing my place. Is there a way to go back to the beta way by setting some preferences somewhere? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sara-
It sounds like your sorting is set to "by edit time" or some other that's sending it to the end of the line. Also, work inside of one folder at a time.

• After sync photos onto computer how do l view them?

• IOS 8 Photos App losing metadata after editing photo

Since the iOS 8 update, every time I edit a photo with new editing Tools or with the new 3rd party app editing fonction I lose the photos Metadata's like location, date & time or other exif informations. I realize that they are missing once I open those photos in different application. All metadata / exif information disappeared only for the photos I edited in the Photos App, even if I have only rotated the picture.
Does anybody has a solution for this problem?

Try going into Settings/Photos & Camera and toggle My Photo Stream OFF and ON. From what I have read, this has successfully caused other peoples Photo Stream (in the combined "Recent" Album) to repopulate. See if that works for you.
