After Effect blurry and fuzzy !
Hi plEASE help why my imported ai_illustrator file is blurry and fuzzy in after effects cs6 (retina display) Both render and ram preview are blurry!
Show us the appearance panel from one of your illustrator layers. Select one of the layers in AE and press the u key twice (uu) to reveal all properties of the layer that have been modified and any effects applied, check file interpretation by right clicking an Illustrator layer in the project panel and selecting Interpret Footage and select More Accurate from the other options panel. If the illustrator file is clean then your edges should be fine. If effects are applied in AI or layer styles are used then you must not scale the layers over about 120% or move the camera too close.
One other hint, when grabbing screenshots from a mac you can use Cmnd + Shift + 4 to marquis select an area of your screen so the images are not so big. I also resize mine from my MBproR because they are twice the size they need to be for the web. It's also probably not the best idea to give the world the serial number of your mac.

After Effects CS6 and CC crash when Composition panel is closed, moved, switched w/ Layer panel, etc
Kind of hard to word the problem in a non-confusing way, but here goes. After Effects CS6 and CC will only work if the Composition panel is in its default spot in the Standard workspace, and that it's the only thing displayed there. No layer or footage panels can be opened - it can only be Comp or nothing.
In other words, AE is 100% certain to crash if:
- The composition panel is closed or moved to another spot in the workspace.
- A file from the project is double-clicked and opened as a layer/footage panel
- Any attempt is made to switch the Standard workspace to another
The crappiest thing about this is that I've searched Google using as many different phrases as I can and haven't found any discussion about this particular problem. It's as if I'm the only one on Earth who is having this issue.
It should be noted that After Effects CS5 does not have this problem on my PC, but I need CS6 or better because that's what we're using at work now. I can't work from home (as I need to do occasionally) if AE won't work properly.
System:
Windows 7 PC, 12GB RAM, Quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.7 Ghz, ATI Radeon HD 6700 series GPU (1GB)It's not like a regular crash that instantly closes the program and has a "sorry, AE crashed" popup. It basically just freezes until the process is forced to quit.

Error Code: 34 Mac OSX 10.8.4 for Photoshop CC, Bridge CC, After Effects CC, and Flash CC

So I am installing all the CC versions of the software and all but Photoshop, Bridge, After Effects, and Flash installed without a hitch. On those 4 programs I get the same error code: 34. I am able to install the CS6 variants of them without any problem and run it. Here is the error code:

I have been unable to fix this on my own and with what I've found online. I'll list what I have done so far to try to fix this issue. I have tried to use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool but the issue is since PS, BR, AE, and FL won't install I can't clean them to try a fresh install. I tried installing the CS6 versions to see if it would dowload the 'Camera Profiles Installer_8.1".
Any help on fixing this ASAP would be much appreciated!

Adobe After Effects CS6 and Premiere CS6 wont work on OS lion
I just bought a teacher Edition of Adobe Production Premium. I installed the softwares on my Mac which is running OS Lion 10.8.2. Everything works except Adobe After Effects CS6 and Adobe Premiere CS6. It always start up with the splash page then a pop up window opens that reads unexpected error occured send to apple.
I don't understand because Photoshop, illustrator and the other softwares worked fine.
I have tried uninstalling, re-installing, re-starting and even tried to download the After Effects CS6 and Premiere CS6 on creative cloud thinking that maybe those on the web will be more updated to address the issue.
But still I cant get it to work.

After Effects CS6 and Premiere Pro CS6 not available for installation for 32-bit systems
After Effects CS6 and Premiere Pro CS6 require a 64-bit operating system and processor to be installed and run.
If you subscribe to Creative Cloud but use a 32-bit computer system, you will not be able to download and install Premiere Pro CS6 or After Effects CS6.
This issue primarily affects users on the Windows operating system, since all supported versions of the Mac OSX operating system are able to run 64-bit applications.

I used msconfig, first disabling startup items, -same result.
Enabled all startup items, disabled all non-microsoft services - AE worked!
I re-enabled each service in turn until AE crashed.
The fault was related to an item for a video streaming device I have in my house. It was Monsoon-multimedia's Vulkano Service. Sometimes under the old name of Hava, this is an app that acts like a sling-box to send my Cable TV to my screen. It does load a couple of virtual devices in device manager, and uses a proprietary codec.
I uninstalled the vulkano streamer application and rebooted the external Vulkano device. I reinstalled the Vulkano and verified it connected to the device and could stream. Once it did, I tried AE again and IT WORKED!
I wonder if simply rebooting the Vulkano would have fixed it. Its like opening the garage door to turn on the refridgerator.

Severe audio problems in After Effects CS4 and MXF and more...
Hi!
I've been experiencing a lot of problems lately with several CS4 products.
First, and the worst, is that there seems to be some severe audio bug in After Effects when handling mxf-files. I pre-cut a project in premiere CS4, shot with a Sony EX1, and then imported the project in After Effects CS4.
In premiere everything worked fine and I had all the audio. In AE however the audio matched with the MXF-files disappeared (Yes I had the import audio box checked). All other audio worked fine from the music tracks and so on, but the MXF-files (MXF for NLE) was completely blank, the waveforms were completely flat. I checked every option there is in AE regarding audio and tried enabling and disabling XMP ID's and so on. After a lot of tweaking and testing I understood that the problem was not with any settings anywhere, the MXF-files lacked audio even if I started a new project and just imported the MXF-file.
The problem seems to be connected to when importing from Premiere. My colleague was editing a similar project on his computer in After Effects without problems, and he started out fresh in AE (didn't pre-cut in premiere). However, we tried to move my project to his computer, to see if the problem was connected with incompability with my hardware or such, and he got the same problem as me when he opened the project. Waveforms on MXF-files were completely flat. Certain confirmation that the problem was not connected with my computer appeared when he later reopened his own project, that had worked fine before, and audio was now completely gone - waveforms flat. An hour later, by chance, his audio suddenly popped back.
I have experienced this problems in two different projects in different forms (but both pre-cut in premiere). In the first, audio disappeared while previewing but was there when I ctrl-scrolled and rendered (no I hadn't muted audio in the preview panel). In the second, audio was completely gone even when rendered.
In both cases I tried saving and restarting the computer, reimporting from premiere, starting a fresh after effects project and only importing the mxf-files, changing the project settings, fps fixed to the correct instead of auto, changing output audio mapping, changing XMP, and so on in every possible way and combination I could imagine.
At my company our suspicion is that After Effects flags mfx-files imported from Premiere in some wierd way, to strengthen and ensure compatibility between the two - regarding different audio tracks, settings and effects from premiere (and this is almost what you could suspect that the XMP ID is for, but as explained with or without doesn't change a thing regarding this). We have no problem with the pure MXF support for AE, as MXF-files work just fine in After Effects if you import them directly and have not imported them through premiere earlier (but after a file has been "flagged" you seem to be sc***ed)
Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I missing something huge?
As additional notes, the dynamic link function seems extremely buggy and both premiere both sometimes complains about "dynamic link already in use and only one connection blah blah" even though only one link is used, and even though you restart the projects, programs, computer, whatever.
In furher addition Adobe Media Encoder (which also seems to be using some sort of dynamic link offspring) is super-buggy and most codec formats either doesn't start to render or just renders partially and then the program hangs. The problem have a connection with a process named pproheadless.exe eating upp all the RAM (4gbs).
(My workstation has been working smoothly for one and a half years and I have had very little problems with CS3 and "just" AE CS4. I am cautious of updates, don't have spyware and use Quicktime 7.5 as 7.5.5 is superbuggy and people seems to have problems with 7.6 and it doesn't fix the gamma issues anyway.)
Sorry if this was a long post but the problem is complDude, that's what these forums are all about. Everyone in here says they dont work for Adobe, but they all act like apologists for what is clearly a disaster of a software release. My complaints aren't as specialized as yours, just very basic, and I wont go into all of them, because the list is long, and includes nearly every program in CS4.
I'm going for a refund, either from the retailer or my credit card company. Releasing software like this is dishonest. -

Do you have $50? You could become a subscriber to the Creative Cloud for that and get the very latest version of AE (which is version 12.2 right now, whereas CS5.5 is version 10.5). You would get access to the Roto Brush, the 3d camera tracker, and a Lite version of Cinema 4D along with a ton of other enhancements and new features!
Adobe is only selling CS6 (version 11) these days and renting both CS6 (version 11) and CC (version 12).
For free you could download CS6 or CC and use the trial for 30 days.
Alternatively, you could download a trial of CS5.5 (down this page somewhere: http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl) and use it for the next 30 days.
Another option: you can look for third-parties selling their copies of CS5.5, but beware of shady people selling pirated software. -
After Effects crashed and wont open
Ok so a few days ago I was working on After Effects CS5 and it crashed while rendering. I've to open it many times but always gives me the same message. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but the problem remains. And also downloading all adobe updates and it still doesn't work. If anyone could please help, if anyone actually knows the problem.
This is the window that keeps appearing. Stressing me out!To clear all preferences, delete the entire 10.0 folder. After Effects will recreate a fresh copy when it starts.

Dear users of AIO 610-1270, is anyone has experience with blurry and fuzzy screen appearing randomely, black color is disapiring in favor of red, you can see on attached photos.
I upgraded video drivers, but is was helpful for very short time only.
I checked computer's video using hp support assistant, no erroes beenrepotred even screen was blurry and fuzzy durring checking.

i7, 6mb RAM, 2Tb HD 23"touch screen, graphic AMD Radeon HD6450AI have several thousand photos in several folders. I have noticed that whenever I want to change the folder used as the side show source, it takes the Screen Saver Preference pane a very long time to respond. It is as if it is scanning all the photos in the currently assigned folder in order to display them in the preview window provided, and it gets so dogged down doing that it can't respond to my clicks on the Choose Folder option.
Assuming you don't want to redistribute your photos into a greater number of folders or subfolders so there would be fewer in each folder to process, you could try a workaround. Try moving your currently-assigned folder to your desktop temporarily, before opening the Screen Saver preference pane. If the preference pane can't find the old folder, it may immediately ask you to choose a new one. You could hopefully then do so, close the preference pane, and then put back the old folder.
It's my understanding that there will be no future updates to Tiger, only security fixes. -
