After Effect Network Render Error.
Hi Everyone,
I tryed the network render with use After Effect.
I use the Pipelinefx Qube 6.5 for to take a render.
After checking the logs I found out that its trying to run the following command:
cmdline : "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\aerender.exe" -project "\\nas-srv-1\vol_0_1\
Qube\TestProject\Test_Project.aep" -s
QB_FRAME_START -e QB_FRAME_END -i QB_FRAME_STEP -output "\\nas-srv-1\vol_0_1\Qube\out\BUG_LOOP_[#####].tga" -rqindex 1
So I try to execute this command on console manualy. I got license error. Then followed the procedure created necessary ae_render_only_node text files in document. I tryed the render command again and I have no longer the license error but a different error :
C:\Users\administrator.SYS>"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\aerender.exe" -project "\\nas-srv-1\vol_0_1\Qube\
TestProject\Test_Project.aep" -s QB_FRAME_START -e QB_FRAME_END -i QB_FRAME_STEP -output "\\nas-srv-1\vol_0_1\Qube\out
\BUG_LOOP_[#####].tga" -rqindex 1
aerender version 11.0x378
has video RAM(MB): 0
LoadLibrary "n" failed!
LoadLibrary "n" failed!
rqindex 1num 1
aerender Error: After Effects error: Unable to set ∟timeSpanStart↔. NaN is not anumber.
How can we fix this problem?
Thank you.
Ozan.
Have you tried mapping your NAS to a drive letter? Also for network volumes you can use UNC notation (forward slashes). I suspect that this is more of a generic issue where Windows doesn't resolve the network path to proper folder locations. It might also help to avoid dashes and numbers in the path names. Could be misinterpreted as aprt of the command string...

After Effects CC Render Errors with RED footage and ProRes 4444 proxies
Working on an 8 Core, 2008 Mac Pro with 16GB of RAM running Mountain Lion.
I just upgraded to After Effects CC and I'm having a whole bunch of errors ...
-- the 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported
-- error getting package info for file "..." ( 3 :: 164 )
-- Error (4) reading frame from file "..." ( 86 :: 2 )
I'm trying to make ProRes 4444 proxies from RED files (sometimes as big as 4K), which will eventually end up in a 1920x1080 project. I'll make a 4444 proxy, work on it all day with no problems, then when I try to render (or save a RAM preview) any one of the previous errors will show up.
My projects seemed to work just fine fine in AE CS6, and I've worked with RED footage in AE before with little issue. I've completly restarted my system, re-installed everything, worked off an external drive, worked on my internal (software) RAID, rendered to local and external hard drives, adjusted my multiprocesser render settings (on and off), cleared the cache ... nothing is fixing it.
Does anybody else have any ideas? Or insight. Or anything?!
Thanks for your time,
EliotI'm working on a MacbookPro, Early 2013, OS X 10.8.4, and I'm having the same exact error:
However instead of using RED footage, I'm using a 3rd party plugin called Element 3D and Optical Flares from VideoCopilet.net.
I'm not sure if the bug is related, I'm just wondering if anyone else has any idea on how to fix this problem. I have a fresh install of CC so I can't downgrade to CS6.
Another error popped up during multiple trys in export:
In case the old file was actually corrupted, I checked all my backups that worked perfectly fine with CS6 in the past, and I get the same error when I copy them over to my hard drive on my mac.
My current setup is:
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
I really don't want to recreate this entire file from scratch. That would be a lot of hours wasted... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -
After Effects CC Render Error H.264
Win 7x64
Adobe After Effects CC 2014 13.0.2
QuickTime Pro 7.7.6 installed
I'm IT. Not a day to day user of CC Products.
I have a client (Uni) that is having trouble rendering in After Effects H.264 with complex renders. Basic 'simple, single image' renders work without issue. And the error output is set to 'errors only' yet nothing spits out. Users are Standard Users.
Where is a jumping off point to decipher what is breaking? That's nice.
But from your initial query, it's difficult to know whether this person is importing h.264 footage or trying to render h.264 footage. H.264 footage used in AE can cause problems with certain effects, and it is NEVER a good idea to render to h.264.
So this could be an operator error rather than a system error.
So I tell you what, Mr. IT Guy -- go buttonhole this person, put your heads together, and answer the litany of diagnostic questions you'll find here:
FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
Between the two of you, you'll have a much better chance of coming to the root of the problem... but separately? That's a crap shoot. -
After Effects CS6 render error - grey artifacts
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could help me? I am rendering out a video in After Effects using H.264 codec, High 5.0 Profile at CBR 5 and 25fps. However, on all occassions and with all videos, not just this one, when the video renders, many frames appear grey (see below);
I have tried rendering it out at various levels of quality, both CBR and VBR, and even using Adobe Encoder also, and the problem still persists. It is not always in the same place also and appears randomly. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem and had a solution?
I have re-sintalled the Adboe Suite on several occasion to try and counteract this, but again, the problem presists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
OllieIt appears you are viewing your footage in Quicktime X, which in itself is not particulalrly sensible. Use the "classic" Quicktime 7 If it's okay there, then the file will work. Other than that this could be something with your source footage, your media cache, whatever. We cannot know. You are not nearly providing half enough info, so we end up guessing around. Also simply render to another CoDec and do the actual conversion in Adobe Media Encoder.

After effects cs4 render error/problem
I started rendering my video. After 1:30 minutes after i started rendering, the video changed intro something looking like a TV without signal, and stayed like that till the end of the video.Something like in this photo
I don't think you understood me. When you get the color bars there is missing footage in your comp. Try scrubbing through your timeline to the place where the color bars appear in your render. You should see the same thing in the comp window. Find the layer that is giving you the color bar image, right click and select find in Project, then right click the footage and use the replace footage option to find the footage.
If that does not fix your problem please give us a screenshot with the CTI at the point in your render where the color bars appear and reveal all properties of the problematic layer.
I just looked up the codec you are using. It's a highly compressed 3rd party codec and that alone could be causing your problem. There are lots of users of that codec that have problems. If you do not have missing footage in your project then Transcode the original screen capture footage to a suitable production quality codec and replace the footage in your AE project with a standard digital intermediate codec. Jpeg compressed Quicktime is probably one of the most versatile and dependable DI codec. -
After Effects on mac error message, Disk Cache, can't do anything (CS6)
Hello,
My name is Lukas.
Everytime when I open my After Effects, the render window opens up and an error about the Disk - Cache appears.
I own the version 11.0.4.2 for CS6.
I cleared the DC already, I do have enough available Disk space, but I cant do anything.
All I can do is to open up the preferences Window and change Settings.
I can't do nothing in the rest of the menu bar (for example open up a new composition).
(I'm sorry for my english, my motherlanguage is german)
I would be very happy if you could help me with my problem!
Thanks in advance!Na dann erzähl uns doch nochmal alles richtig. Aus dem Gestammel wird keiner schalu, zumal du uns keinerlei Informationen gegeben hast, wo denn der Cache liegt, wie deine Festplatten organisiert sind und welches System du verwendest...

Error After effects quicktime Render
Hello
I am facing a problem rendering in After Effects CS5.
This is my computer :
- Windows 7 Pro 64bit
- Processor: Intel Xeon E5 2660 V2 - 20CPU
- 32GB Ram
- CG: Nvidia GTX 780 TI
My problem:
I'm working on a movie with a green screen sequences in .mov, animation codec. When I start rendering, it runs for a few pictures and then the error:
Error made in the background. Rendering in the foreground will be activated after 229 images out of 486 (26 § 142)
After Effects (Error) Error (4) when reading image from file D: \ ****** \ Sequences \ TV_Sequence-3a6.mov. (86 § 2)
After Effects (error): Keylight out of memory. (4) (25 § 241)
I tried a lot of manipulation:
- Checking "using the OpenGL" and it works but the rendering time is multiplied by 10 if not more.
- By changing the format of the green screen sequences (wmv, mp4, avi) and it works. So it's really a .mov problematic.
- By activating or not, the hyperthreading and it crashes.
- By testing a render without movie inside the comp and it works
So I think it comes from Quicktime and the number of processor cores, but how to solve this problem? : s
I already check this link : troubleshooting QuickTime errors with After Effects CS5, CS5.5, CS6, and CC | After Effects region of interest but it doesn't works
Thank you for your help
(sorry for my english)The QuickTime version is 7.7.5.
With my old machine, it worked perfectly.
I can make a render in .mov (animation, h.264, etc ) with no .mov in my comp but if there is, after effects gives me an error ...
Thanks for your reply -
After Effects Disk Full error (-1610153463) when rendering to QTs
Hi! I'm having a very weird error on most of my computers when rendering to our shared storage,
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file "E:\xxx.mov". Disk Full. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1601053463)
All the machines in here can access the same media and storage volumes, they are mounted as NTFS volumes fron an iSCSI storage called DDP. All this was working fine until about 2 weeks ago, nothing was updated or upgraded on the storage.
Weird this is this do not fail if the render to the same location is done in AVI format, or with certain QT codecs.
NON codec fails immediately, writes a QT that is about 8 MB in size and fails.
DNXHD writes about 1 second of frames and fails.
BMP codec fails too.
but...
all those codecs render fine if I render to my desktop or to my D drive that is also a local drive inside of the computer, NTFS formatted too. So the codes mys be fine.
I can not discard ad storage issue, but like I said before, it ONLY fails if I use QT and some codecs, PhotoJPG for example does not fail, space, I have plenty.... and, this only happens from the windows computers, the MAC does not fail.
I'll keep testing stuff and will post what I find.... but if anyone have any suggestions or ideas.... are very welcome...wonder if you read my previous post answering to myself?
It is actually not a network drive, is is a NFTS drive mounted over iSCSI, its not a NFS volume. Workd fine for over a year, until last Windows Defender update... and it is actually fasted than my local drives since the local drives are simple SATA drives and this is a 48 Drives RAID connected over 10 GigE iSCSI and with a performance of 1050 MB/s.
Even our projects are saved on these iSCSI volumes, so all the rooms we have can work from the same project without having to duplicate media or projects between rooms, so producers can jump from room to room with the projects if the artist is bussy with something else and they need changes, someone else can take care of it... -
After Effects wont open error message
Hello.
My After effects wont open. I've read many forums and info that others have written about it not opening. Stuff about erasing fonts, deactivating fonts, then also, finding folders /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore---> which was empty and had nothing to erase or do anything with http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/973961 ...Still nothing.
this is the error.
Last log message was: <140735190438672> <EAMountPoints> <0> Error: mount point list is empty
My computer is a brand new mac book pro. Tip Top of the line. Not sure what other details i should give.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
UGH boooo
thanks
LI saw that there were a series of questions i need to answer in order to get the right answers.
What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number (e.g., After Effects CS5.5 with the 10.5.1 update). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates"; give the specific version number.
12.2 - after effects CC - CS6
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
yes. i even uninstalled and reinstalled the newest...again.
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
Mac OSX 10.9.1
Tell us about your computer hardware. Include CPU type and number of processor cores, amount of RAM installed, GPU, number of disk drives, and how any external drives are connected.
2.3 GHZ Intel Core i716GB 1600 MHZ DDR3Macintosh HDprocessor #: 1Zero external drives connected.I use my local connection with my desktop to share files. Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 16 GB
What versions of drivers for your graphics hardware do you have installed (including CUDA driver and driver for display adapter)?
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MBInstalled CUDA
Do you have any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU)?
NO
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
Last log message was: <140735190438672> <EAMountPoints> <0> Error: mount point list is empty.Generating crash log, which may take a few minutes. although there is another window that says A LOT MORE!!
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
trying to open it.
Has this ever worked before? If this worked before by doesn't work now, what has changed on your computer in the intervening time?
It has worked for about 4 or 5 days. It was even working when i was doing the same action prior to the last time it stopped working. I was uploading a file from my other computers file. Which i had done many times throughout the day. As i work on one computer and when i have to leave and bring my laptop with me i do so. Because i work on my computer all day long. Desktop or laptop.
Do you have QuickTime installed. (You should.) If so, what version? The answer should be specific, such as "QuickTime 7.6.2".
10.3
What other software are you running?
iWork - Numbers
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
Yes. I've since deleted them but i'm not sure where else to find the files if they're still around. ?
Are you using OpenGL features in After Effects?
Not sure i know what that is?
Does the problem only happen with your final output, RAM preview, or both?
its just not opening
Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing?
if that is the Double line play button then yes.
Are you using the ray-traced 3D renderer?
Not sure what that is.
If the problem is with output, give your exact output settings (both render setting and output module settings). Screenshots help.
What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking?
Thanks for any help you can give me:)

I've been getting frequent, but not consistent, errors during rendering AE CS5.5 projects with lots of 3D layers and lights. I have gone back to a known clean project to confirm the issue isn't with a particular project. The error is usually an error invoking the advanced 3D render engine. This is sometimes followed by a bad tracked memory id popup. But sometimes the program just hangs up.
My System:
i7 [email protected]
24GB RAM
Windows 7 professional 64 bit SP1
NVidia Geforce GTX 570
I have trashed the preferences, cleaned the cache, turned off rendering multiple frames, deleted Open GL, updated the graphics card drivers and even tried reverting to old graphics card drivers. Window's Memory Diagnostic Tool didn't find any problems. System File Checker Tool didn't find any corrupt files. My system drive is not fragmented. I have reinstalled AE, reinstalled all of CS5.5, and did a system restore to a known working point (both with and without doing the Windows updates that have occurred since the restore point). None of this fixed the problem.
I have tried the script BG Renderer to render in the background. I have consistently gotten the following error running the script, which I'm hoping will be a clue:
"aerender ERROR An existing connection was forcible closed by the remote host.
:Unable to receive at line 314
aerender ERROR: After Effects can not render for aerender. Another instance of aerender, or another script, may be running; or, AE may be waiting for a response from a modal dialog, or for a render to complete. Try running aerender without the - reuse flag to invoke a separate instance of After Effects."
The first two times I tried to render with BG Renderer, the error came right after closing AE. But I still got the same error if I left AE open and just sat and watched.
Any help is appreciated.Update: I believe I have discovered the problem! It was a bad RAM stick. Windows Memory Diagnostic tool found nothing wrong, and nothing in my system seemed to be effected other than the ability to render complex AE projects with 3D layers. After a complete system restore to a known working point failed to help, I opened up the machine. Finding nothing loose, I methodically tested all the memory sticks to find the culprit. Everything is running smoothly now, albeit on less RAM.

Adobe After Effects CS5 & Quicktime ERRORS / crashing...
Greetings,
I am having a lot of AE CS5 crashing (app just quits for no reason while scrubbing) and other weirdness...like today, and I am being told on the Adobe Boards that it 's Quicktime related. I am rendering a 3 minute piece in ProRes 4:2:2 (1280x720p) to my RAID (no special plug-ins or anything) and I get the following error at the very end of every render:
+After Effects Error: Rendering error while writing to file (insert my RAID path here). An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted (-1610153464)+
They are telling me the long number at the end indicates a Quicktime problem, which is unfortunately not so rare with 64bit AE due to how Apple does not really have a 64bit Quicktime and Adobe needs to work their way around some of that.
Is this true? Can I fix this on my own or is there a 64-Bit QT Pro coming with the new Final Cut Studio? Any input is gratefully appreciated...thanks.
JoeyThere are some suggestions regarding the error in these threads that may help:

After Effects wont render full res - possible RAM issue?
Not sure if this has ever come up before - I'm unable to render out of after effects and RAM preview half res. When I try and RAM preview the comp just goes black and when I send it to render I get the following message:
After Effects warning: Logged one error - "error Rendering while writing to file. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted(-1610153464)"
I'm able to RAM preview half res okay, and can render out half res as well. I've tried it with rendering multiple frames simultaneously on and off, clearing the disk cache and turning off any RAM hogging effects.
An obvious cause I've identified is that I've recently upgraded and replaced the RAM on my machine, however, after effects has been the only software effected. Cinema 4D renders no problems and I've had no other problems with the general running of my machine.
Have there ever been any cases before of After Effects not working with certain types of RAM?
My set up -
Mac Pro - Early 2008
OSX Mavericks 20.9.2
2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
16GB 800MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
250GB Samsung SSDI'm running After Effects CC 12.2.1.5
Sorry should have mentioned, no matter what format I render as, whether it be QT or TIFF sequence, I still get the exact same error.
QT version i'm using is 7.6.6
In terms of reproducing the error, it seems to happen to pretty much anything I try and render, unless it's an extremely simple one layer comp. Rendering a comp with 2 image sequence layers (1920 x 1080) will cause this to happen, but if there's just the one image sequence alone in the comp (and no other layers) then it will render. -
After Effects CC 2014 Error "error cannot be imported this moov file is damaged or unsupported"
Well, outside of the RAM preview issues that are stopping me from using AE CC 2014, I decided to at least use it to render a AE CC project already composed in CC.
I shut the CC project opened it in CC 2014 (same computer, same drive) and got the moov file error message. It would not recognize any Quicktime PNG movies, etc.
But the old CC does recognize them. Back to CC!See this for troubleshooting QuickTime issues:
troubleshooting QuickTime errors with After Effects CS5, CS5.5, CS6, and CC
The permissions issue for the preferences folder seems to be the most common culprit recently. -
