I have all the system requirements but..
I have a intel i3 processer... that's the only thing I wouldn't be to sure off!
and I don't have quicktime as I thought that was only for Mac's

Bought a Quadro K2000 Video Card, After Effects CC Won't detect it?

I recently bought a Quadro K2000 for some simple 1080p video editing and rendering. Now there comes the problem, It seems like After Effects is not detecting the card, CUDA is enabled and the card is supported in the list. I have tried many solutions but unfortunately I still have this problem. Also with rendering a video my CPU still takes all the load instead of the GPU, therefore it goes really slow, 5 minute render takes up to 2+ hours. I bought this video card so my render also got quicker but it seems like After Effects just won't use the GPU for rendering. I have Ray tracing 3D rendering on.
Can someone please explain to me why my Quadro K2000 is not used for rendering the videos but instead it still uses my CPU. I hope the $500 was no waste of money for this card.

You have given us little information to go by. What exact version of After Effects? What operating system. Show a screenshot of your GPU Information dialog box in After Effects.
The Quadro K2000 was added to the list of cards tested and supported for use by the ray-traced 3D renderer in this version:

After Effects CC won't update

Hi,
After Effects CC won't update on both my computers.
Every time I try to install the AE CC update, the installer asks me to close AdobeCrashDaemon to continue.
After quiting AdobeCrashDaemon and checking Activity Monitor to make sure it's not running, the installer keeps asking me to close AdobeCrashDaemon.
I hope you can help me.

Hi Jeff,
I checked the installation log file and found the error notice:
ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC/Adobe After Effects CC.app/Contents/Frameworks/mc_dec_amr.framework/mc_dec_amr"(Seq 4)
I opened the folder Applications/Adobe After Effects CC, and can't find the rest of the /After Effects CC.app/ etc. path inside it.
What would be the next step to solve this?

Not that I'm aware of. I think the largest one I've ever made was around 98mb. At that point, the file became way too cumbersome, and I ended up splitting up the project more efficiently into multiple project files. There may be a limit, but if not, then it would probably be any file size limits imposed by your OS.

After effects CC won't start in Mavericks 10.9.3

I just reinstalled OS X and updated it. I didn't realize that the 10.9.3 update was out until I found this problem. Anyway after al the OS stuff I installed the CC programs I use but after effects doesn't start. I know that there are compatibility issues between mavericks and after effects so I downloaded the last update from the site (12.2.1). The problem is that it won't install the update either, it says that it's not compatible.. What can I do? I'm stuck with no AE at the moment..

The file name of the update I downloaded from adobe.com is "AfterEffects_CC_12_2_1_ftr.dmg", maybe there's a multiple version or some localized version to use since I use italian version of CC. For reference the 12.0.1 update file that I still have it's called "AfterEffectsTrial-12.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate" (opening that ends with the same result now, with OS X 10.9 was working all right).

Premiere (and After Effects) CS6 won't open anymore!

     Hi everyone,
Recently, I've been working on a project which required a dynamic link between After Effects and Premiere CS6 on my MacBook Pro, which runs OSX Mountain Lion. Everything worked great until yesterday, when I got an error message that said something along the lines of "Adobe Premiere has encountered an error. We will try to save your project and restart Premiere again".
     I re-opened Premiere, and although the same thing happened again a few times, I was finally able to get back to my project. Today, however, the same message appeared when I opened it again. I went through the same routine again, opening it and then exiting out, but this time, it didn't work.
     Not only is Premiere not opening, it is no longer even showing the error message. It simply goes to the loading screen and the the infamous "Spinning Beach Ball of Death" appears. I've force quit multiple times and re-started my computer with every application closed. I've also relaunched Finder (I honestly don't think that would help, but I tried anyways) - still, the loading sign freezes and the SBBOD appears again.
     Instead of sitting there trying to fix it and wasting my time, I tried opening After Effects to at least work on the linked compositions that were in my Premiere project. I then get this message before After Effects force quits automatically:
"Last log message was: <140735255806336> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 3
Generating crash log, which may take a few minutes."
So, apparently this has something to do with my GPU or CPU? I'm not really that educated when it comes to GPUs, so I'm not sure what to do now. I have a CUDA Driver Version 5.5.47 on my computer (I'm not entirely sure how it got there in the first place...), and System Preferences has been notifying me that it needs to be updated. I heard somewhere, on a different forum, that this may have something to do with it, so I downloaded what I thought was a newer version of the driver, although this just turned out to be the same version (5.5.47) that I already have (which seems to be the newest one).
So, what do you think I should do? Is there something very specific that should be done? Does it have something to do with this CUDA thing? Is the best option to just uninstall and then reinstall?

Thank you so much, Mr. Curtis! I'm not sure exactly how that worked, but it allowed me to get back on both AE and Premiere Pro. 10 points to you!
Also, for the other people that may have similar problems and are viewing this forum, definitely try this out. Listen to Jim's advice, don't use the most recent version (which is currectly 5.5.47) - instead try a slightly older one. The one I had installed was version 5.5.24.

After effects cs4 won't install with the Adobe Creative Suite 4

yesterday I bought Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, i let it download through out the night and the next day i installed it and noticed that it came every single application except after effects cs4. there is no folder or icon for it, but everything else works. im in the process of uninstalling it and re-installing it, but i doubt it will help. i downloaded the after effects cs4 trail months ago, then deleted it. i don't think that's the problem though.I called adobe and was on hold for literally two hours, and when i was able to talk to someone they were not really able to help much.
im on a macbook, version 10.5.8
2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo
2 gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
EDIT: i installed it again, looked at the install options more closely and realesed that it does come with it, it just wont let me install it or check it to be installed, because it says its already installed. i checked all over my hard drive for it and its not there. i really need some help.

also if I waited and got after effects cs5 do you think it would actually work, and would i be able to get the student discount again?

We cannot know. We need exact system info. As a start, you might consider turning off UAC completely and running as admin...

My After Effects CC won't update to 2014 (13)

My After Effects CC is on version 12.2.2.5.
I just read 2014 (13.1) is out, but running Help>Updates doesn't offer me any updates for AE. It does offer me updates for other parts of CC.
What could be going on here?

If you're subscribed to CC, you have access to version 11, version 12, and version 13 nothing more needs to be purchased.
However, version 13 (CC 2014) is downloaded and installed separately from version 12.

After Effects CC will not download

After effects was not opening due to an error during start up. I uninstalled it, but CC still thinks I have it on my computer so it wont allow me to download it again.

After effects 7 won't install

when I click on Adobe After Effects 7.0, it asks if I want to run the software, and I click on “RUN,” then a window opens and immediately closes and another one comes up, “Adobe AD 7.0 Installer Information” w/ exclamation mark in yellow triangle saying “You must install Adobe AE 7.0 using Setup.exe.”
I click OK and get “InstallShield Wizard completed... wiz was interrupted before AE 7.0 completely installed...to complete install at another time, run setup again. Click finish to close wizard.”
and that’s it.
no install interface ever comes up.

Thanks for this. I noticed the mention of this at that download page, but since I was directed to it by Adobe chat support and told it would be where I would download, I did so anyway. I asked about the activation server being "unavailable" and what that meant but was just told again to go there to download. Nice of them to bother to send me there and have me uninstall and reinstall, etc., knowing it would not work. Why even have that list with all the download links. Waste of my time and now I have a program that I spent a lot of money on that is useless. This makes me very reluctant to buy any more Adobe products in the future.

Lastest Adobe After Effects Trial Won't Install!

Hi there, I have a Dell Inspiron 530S with 2gb ram and 140gb hard drive, and I downloaded the Adobe After Effects, the latest one, CS4, and then I ran the extractor. And then, when I run the setup, a pop up comes up and says like Windows is searching for the problem, and it says adobe setep has stopped working. Im running vista. Any help ideas please? I have tried running as admin so I'm really stuck here.

As pointed out by Andrew, please provide more detailed info. some things to look into:
- Do you have sufficient disk space in your user home directory (Users/Chris/Temp and so on)?
- Likewise, do the directories required for the generic components have enough capacity? (Program Files, Users/All Users/AppData, Users/Chris/AppData/Local etc.)
- Regardlkess whether you are running as an admin, check your UAC and DEP settings. If you think they may be a problem, there is no harm in turning them off, at least temporarily.
- The usual rest: check your files and directories for general user permission issues.
