After Effects 7 refuses to import transitions made in Premiere Pro 2

Hello,
I want to import the timeline I created in Premiere into After Effects for Rendering (the renders always turn out clearer while Premiere makes them blocky and the text unreadable, and the text was part of the Raw video). but After Effects won't import some of the transitions I put in (eg; tumble away) but they import other transitions like crossfade just fine, what can I do to fix this? Or to get premiere to export nice and clear like After Effects does?
Thank you

>but After Effects won't import some of the transitions I put in (eg;

Nothing. Some Premiere effects simply have no equivalent in AE and thus cannot be "translated". Which effects get imported/ exported is certainly clearly spelled out in the manual and I'm sure it says something like "only dissolves and dip to color....". As for your export issue - please let us know to what format you are actually try to export. There's just too many variables to this game. From what it sounds like, my initial guess would be that you are not using correct field settings, but could of course be other things as well.

  • After Effects are not visible when exporting in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

I have made a simple name/title bar for an interview video, using Adobe After Effects. When i import the composition to Premiere Pro it's visible in the preview window BUT; when I render the video in Premiere Pro the After Effects clip is not visible anymore. AND  when i export the complete sequence to a .wmv file, the After Effects clip is not visible either.
I'm not that much of an expert in Premiere Pro or After Effetcs, so hopefully this can easily be solved.
What is it that i'm doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

The names are the same, but the programs are very different... CS4 is 32bit, CS5 and later is completely rewritten to be 64bit
So, there is a different forum for CS4 and earlier http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous?view=all

  • After Effects error: Can't import file "(FILE TITTLE)" unsupported filetype or extension

Hello so I was working with AE3 for 2 years and i had no problems with it but.. when i reinstall my windows and install AE3 with same installation file as always i was using.. and  I got problem. When i try to import AVI or wmv or other video clips except mov format I getting this error "After Effects error: Can't import file "(FILE TITTLE)" unsupported filetype or extension".. i tried everything: 3 different installs of AE3 but nothing always same.. so decided this is windows problem so I installed new one  with SP3 but i got same problem then I tried it on SP2 but still same problem.. So i installed windows7 and my AE3 was working but i didn't liked a windows 7 and i back on xp SP3 and guess what guys? yes! i got same error again on AE3. I don't know guys what to do. Can you help me?

I assume that you mean "After Effects CS3". After Effects 3 came out more than a decade ago.
Do you have QuickTime Player installed? After Effects requires QuickTime to be installed to import some file types.
Could you be explicit about exaclty what files you have tried to import? Even giving file names might help. For example, this error has been seen when the characters used in the file name were non-standard characters (e.g., this thread).
When you re-installed Windows, did you also re-install any codecs that you may have previously had on the system?

  • After Effects CC crashing on importing PSD (ae.blitpipe error message)

    Hi guys,
I hope you can help me, Adobe Support couldn't so far.
I recently installed After Effects CC on my MacBook Pro 13" (2012), 16GB RAM, Mountain Lion 10.8.4.
I cannot import PSD files into AE. Everytime I try, it crashes with the following message:
Zuletzt protokollierte Meldung: <140735306359168> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context
It doesn't matter, what kind of PSD file I try to import. But to be sure, I created a new PSD file, 1920x1080, 72 dpi, RGB, just with a background, no effects, flattened, just that single background layer. It won't import, AE always crashes.
I'm also running After Effects CS3 on that MacBook. Importing PSD files there works perfectly here.
    I tried these troubleshooting procedures:
    - trashing preferences
    - uninstalling every single Adobe Product
    - cleaning with the Creative Suite Cleaning Tool
    - Reinstalling just After Effects CC (still wont import PSD files at this stage)
    - Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11, creating a new PSD file, still doesn't work.
I don't know what else to do right now. I want to avoid reinstalling the whole operating system because I'm working on projects at the moment (with Final Cut Pro X).
    You have an idea?

What SWF file? What source? How was it generated? SWF generated by Flex/ Flash Server may contain constructs that are incompatible and SWFs that render all their elements dynamically using Flash drawing primitives and use lots of ActionScript may also not work...

  • Import After Effects composition - blending modes will not transfer to Premiere

I have a lower thirds composition I want to import from After Effects CC into Premiere Pro CC. While I have no problem importing the composition, I do have a problem with Premiere Pro displaying properly the blending modes I set in AE.
I've tried every blending mode... (I read somewhere Premiere Pro is only compatible with some AE blending modes.)
What appears in Premiere is a completely flat composition.
Is it possible to import an After Effects composition, including blending modes? Any suggestions?
Blending Mode effect shown below, Soft Light. (After Effects first, Premiere Pro second.)

    @ Jim Simon
Here's a sample of the lower-third in various stages. Each image is only a few frames of eachother (to show it's animated). As you can see in the final image (in Premiere), it's as tho the blend mode imports – you can see the light gray uglyness – but doens't blend.
After Effects composition, without blending mode.

  • After Effects is warping my imported vector graphics.

I am using ai. files to create a logo animation in after effects, but whenever I import the graphic and add it to my composition, it quite literally squishes the vectors and changes the colour of the graphic slightly.
I have a feeling that it is not after effects that is creating the problem, but with the illustrator file itself.
I will post this in an illustrator forum as well but does any know why this is happening?
    Thanks for your time.

Oooh, that's not good.  Change it back to square.  To view the comp properly, use that switch described above.
AE's really good about treating footage properly when you mix standard pixel aspect ratios in the same comp, and you're using standard ones.  So don't worry.

  • Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC

Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC. But I can into After Effects CC.
I also can't export to DNxHD files to an MXF file either.
I do have latest Quicktime Pro installed and I also have Avid Media Composer and the other pieces of the Avid package.
    Conflict?

I only have one account on the computer and it has Administrator priveleges.  What I am doing to make it work is opening the application using the "Run as Administrator" command (e.g., right click application shortcut on desktop, choose "Run as Administrator").  I am not a Windows guru but I would guess there is something different between opening an Application with a user that has Administrator priveleges and opening an Application choosing "Run as Administrator".  Also, your answer still does not address the fact that I can't use my jog wheel.
    Anyone else have some ideas?

You can render the title out of Premiere Pro as a movie and bring it into After Effects as a video file. Titles aren't automatically converted when you copy and paste from Premiere Pro to After Effects or use Dynamic Link to send something to After Effects.

Zone Alarm, eh? I used to use that program, but it got in the way of almost everything that I did, that I canned it completely.
Glad that removing ZA solved your issue.
Personally, I find MOV Animation CODEC to be quite good, and use that for a lot of work. Jeff Bellune, here, like the Photo JPEG format, but I have not explored that.
    Good luck,
