After Effects CC 2014 Crashing with Magic Bullet Looks on Mac

Hi,
I recently installed the upgrade to the latest After Effects CC 2014 v13.0 and found the Magic Bullet Looks now causes After Effects to crash. I'm using MBL v2.5.2
I opened the Activity Monitor and noticed that whenever the crash occurs the Adobe QT32 Server is in a state of (Not Responding)
On a clip I can apply the MBL plugin with no problems and even if I am copying a previously set up version from a previous clip, it applies and renders without trouble. I can click "Edit" on the plugin controls, open up the MBL control window and make all the adjustments I need without any trouble. The issue is when I then click either "Finished" or "Cancel" to go back to After Effects. The program freezes and I get the spinning wheel of death for about ten seconds and the the whole thing, MBL and AE shut down.
I am running:
MacBook Pro
OS 10.9.4
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i72.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Cuda 6.0.54
The footage is Apple Quicktime ProRes HQ
I have Quicktime v10.3 installed and Quicktime Pro v7.6.6
I am at a loss as of how to fix or even work around this. Any help would be appreciated.

There was a bug in MBL on Premiere CC 2014 that was causing crashing and lockups. Red Giant released an update quite quickly that so far seems to have fixed it for me. I know you're talking about AE but maybe there's some common code that was also fixed? As Rick says, have you checked the latest ver of MBL?

Adobe premiere pro cc 2014 freezing with magic bullet looks

Hi-
I'm running windows 8 with this software and I'm getting intermittent crashing when trying to work on any project when I'm also using magic bullet Looks on it. The frustrating thing is that it used to work fine in premiere Pro CC, but using the 2014 version is very unstable. Also, I cannot go back to using the non-2014 version because the file format is incompatible with the older version and I don't have another version saved. I've already done hours and hours of editing in 2014 only to keep having crashes.
Is anyone looking into this or has any recommendations so I can get work done.

I don't use magic bullet Looks but is that a 3rd party plugin?
If yes, have you checked with the vendor to see if it needs to be updated for the new structure of CC 2014?

After Effects CC 2014 crashing on startup

I downloaded the trial version of After Effects. By downloading it, it activated a 30-day trial. However, every time I try to start up the program, it gives me an error and crashes. I read on the forums issues about fonts and OpenGL, but it doesn't even give me detailed information on the crash. Anybody able to give me a bit of an assist on this? I use Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6 on my PC. I primarily use Sony Vegas for my video work, however I was sent a file on AE and rather than get in contact with the client to have them resend it in .veg, I figured I could download the trial and open it there. No such luck. I've finished the work, but now this AE issue is just bugging me. I am interested in trying it, but if I can't get into the trial, it really curbs my interest in the program.
What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number---e.g., After Effects CC (12.2.1) or After Effects CS6 (11.0.4). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates" or "After Effects CC"; give the specific version number.
     After Effects CC 2014.2 (13.2)    (Creative Cloud says it is up to date, so I'm assuming it is 13.2)

Do you have Service Pack 1 for Windows 7? It's listed in the system requirements for CC 2014. If you don't have SP1, AE won't run.
That GPU sniffer error message is usually what happens. This should be a simple fix! Of course, you should always take the normal precautions when updating an OS, but still...

After effects cc 2014 crashes at start

i downloaded the free trial of after effects cc 2014 and when i start it it gives me this error
it says "error, last message recorded"
"unable to continue, after effects has been an unexpectedly shut down"
since it may be related with the gpu i have a gtx 970 asus strix. From another pc with the same specs i can run it flawlessly

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like the actual system crash log, not this meaningless Adobe stuff.

After Effects CC 2014 - Crash on launch

At first - I've read all topics with that problem , and it doesn't work correctly.
I bought After Effects as Single Application yesterday. And I'm very sad, because of this problem. Can anyone help me?
I've tried this - CC Applications crash immediately after launch . It did not make any difference.
I can see the work space of After Effects at start for a slit second before crash. And then my window are makins smaller with crash. But it doesn't save any crash logs. I tried to fix it.
I've reinstalled program something about 5-6 times. I used Cleaner Tool too...

I'm running skype/chrome like other software.
I'm using OpenGL.
I'm not using Ray Traced 3D,( because my After Effect don't work correctly).

After Effect CC 2014 crash (0::42)

Hi all, I have a new computer and I have downloaded the trial of Adobe After Effect CC 2014. After the installation, I have started the program and the program crash. I have 3 error messages:

Red line with Magic Bullet Looks

Magic Bullet Looks in the Video Effects panel shows as a 32 GPU accelerated effect.
However, when I add it to a clip in timeline one, two or three, I go from no lines (including yellow) to a red line above that clip.
If it's a GPU accelerated effect why am I seeing a red line above the clip when I add that effect?
My card is a 285 that works fine with everthing else.

Magic Bullit Looks is not a accelerated effect, so that is why you are seeing the red line.
Effects with the icon on the left are accelerated.

Render Problem with Magic Bullet Looks

Can't render effects from Magic Bullet Looks with Final Cut Pro. I receive this error message: 'The effects looks failed to render: your hardware cannot render at the requested size and depth.'
However, it renders fine with CS4.
The graphics card I have is the ATI RADEON HD 2600 XT. 256MB
All this is on the same computer.
Any suggestions?

Photoshop cc problem with Magic Bullet Looks 2 !

I am having trouble with using Red Giants' Magic Bullet photolooks 2 plugin with PS CS6 (32&64).
The standalone program works fine on its own but fails to launch properly from PS's filter menu. It tries to launch the app but then reports an error Sorry, an error occurred (12288), Corrupted memory profile, then an error Can't open dest profile. These errors can't be cleared except by going into task manager to kill the app. Photoshop reports the error as LooksBuilder failed to launch. Please ensure the application has not been renamed or moved from the install location and then Could not complete the Photolooks command because of a problem with the filter module interface.

i heard that the fix is by the color management , but i dont know how

Disable those plugins until you can get an update from the plugin manufacturer. Just change the name of the folder they're in to start with ~ and relaunch Photoshop.
Also, the magic bullet looks have nothing to do with color management.

After Effects CS5.0 crash with just a file

Hi
When I tray yo open a After Effects file in a Mac Pro 2013 with Mac OS X 10.8.5 the program shows the AE Suicide after indicate a font problem.
In other Mac Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the same version of After Effects CS5.0 there are not problems.
I need to work with Mac OS X 10.8.5 .
Can you help with this issue please

I'm guessing that you haven't installed the bug-fix updates.
Listed in the fixes for After Effects CS5 in the 10.0.1 update:
"Crash on start due to bad fonts."

After Effects CC 2014 plays/renders incorrect audio for mp3 (Mac OS X Yosemite)

Hi,
I'm translating the audio for a number of animations made in AE. Sometimes when the mac users import new audio in another language, AE plays and renders a totally different mp3 file than what has been imported. It is playing another piece of translated audio from another folder but I can't tell where from (as it's in another language).
When I click reveal in Finder, the track in Finder plays the correct audio.
When I re-import after purging and emptying caches, AE still plays the wrong audio.
I found a work around where if I copy and re-name the audio and import that it works. The problem is, we can't tell when this has occurred until reviews have been performed and it's costing us a lot of time in re-renders and fixing.
Does anyone know what causes this problem? Has anyone even encountered it?
Any advice is much appreciated.

Sure: You are using MP3 files. AE never has been good with them. Convert them to WAV/ AIFF.

HELP: Keep Getting Error When Applying Magic Bullet Looks

get this error when applying Looks.
"After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in "Looks".
and then it says
"After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <2280>
<MCExportInfo: Destruct> <5> Destruct for 420462944"
I try to apply Looks to another video and I get a different error saying language registry key. I apply Looks to a third video and I get the dynamiclink error. It's like different error for different video. All 3 videos shot with different cameras.

Same problem here ! I have Vista 64 bit and Intel 4500 Mhd
driver. The issue is Magic Bullet Misfire works fine in Adobe After
Effects CS5 but it crashes with Magic Bullet Looks.
Have checked OpenGL in AE CS5 which are by default OFF, that is if you open Adobe After Effects CS5 and into edit and then click 'preferences'. Under previews there is ur OpenGL info. Click OpenGL, its says need to update driver or get a better OpenGL above 2.0. I think updating to new OpenGL may fix the issue. I have made a video with Magic Bullet Misfire and it works fine but the issue is with only 'Magic Bullet Looks' presets where the AE crashes.
So it cant be Windows 7, Vista or 32 bit or 64 bit issue. Probably a driver error or an internal Magic Bullet 1.4 or Adobe After Effects CS5 64 bit error.
