Why did you remove the "small icons" button from settings? Or were this function now?

    I need this function.

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.

  • Why did you remove The option to disable Java scripts?

Everyone knows malware always comes through java scripts. So why did you remove the option to turn it off ? Why the false saftey excuse? (duckspeak) This makes no sense. Alot of people also get errors and have slower speed with some pages so they disable it. I understand there is plugins available to block scripts but they never work 100%. It just really really seems strange that a browser that was built on the idea of safety, security and trust has now suddenly removed a item that makes users less safe, Under the guise of safety. (doublespeak)
I will no longer use Firefox ever again unless you put this option back.

Also note that the option is available in...
    '''<h1>about:config</h1>'''
    # In the address bar, type "about:config" (with no quotes), and press Enter.
    # Click "I'll be careful, I promise"
    # In the search bar, search for "javascript.enabled" (with no quotes).
    # Right click the result named "javascript.enabled" and click "Toggle". JavaScript is now disabled.
To Re-enable JavaScript, repeat these steps.
    '''<h1>Add-ons</h1>'''
You can alternatively install an add-on that lets you disable JavaScript, such as
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/ No-Script] (to disable JavaScript on a per page basis, as required)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/ QuickJava] (to easily disable and enable JavaScript, automatic loading of images, and other content)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/settingsanity/ SettingSanity] (adds back JavaScript options, including Advanced JavaScript Settings, as well as options for loading images and showing the Tab Bar)
Im also not sure how you are a computer expert and dont even know the difference between Java and Javascript. Its pathetic that you dont know that Java is the most insecure thing, not Javascript, get your facts straight before bashing a correct answer and "Java Scripts" were not removed, but moved.

  • Why did you remove oil paint in CC 2014?!

I use this filter extensively in my workflow, now it is gone from the latest update to CC! This is terrible, all these wonderful new features and you remove one I use on a daily basis!
I will keep the previous PS version for the time being.
Anyone have any workarounds for this going forward?

John, I was thinking more along the lines of a few versions before, not 2 months before.  In the corporate world of software engineering, you can be sure it was gone WAY before that announcement.  The stuff we consumers see released today has been finished for a long time.
With all due respect to Adobe, sometimes even when the work gets difficult it's important to do it anyway - even if it means it will cost more or delay a release.
Some pointy haired boss in the past approved projects to add the Pixel Bender subsystem and the Oil Paint filter.  It was justifiable enough then to implement it where it hadn't existed before.  THAT was a long-term decision.  The product is not a fun little game for Adobe's research engineers; it's something USERS rely on; base their careers on, actually.   Okay, that may be extreme with regard to Oil Paint, but there's no denying people rely on / base careers on Photoshop as a whole.  What parts of it CAN safely be removed?
It's a professional product, fully expected to do EVERYTHING its predecessor did - and then some.  That should be clear given all the folks scratching their heads over why CC (2014) has been released as a separate executable.
As I have mentioned in prior discussions on this subject, people DID actually rely on Oil Paint, and not primarily for simulating fake oil paintings, which it wasn't really that good at.  There is real innovation in the way it senses edges and creates strokes that is pretty much impossible to achieve any other way.  I used it to smooth jaggies.  People used it even though the filter left a nasty 256->240 white point offset that had to be corrected afterward.
A problem at another level - a perceptual level - is that in a couple of different ways Oil Paint added innovative "Gee Whiz" new functionality in a way that was highly interactive (GPU programming).  People noticed that.  You don't just take back out the "Gee Whiz" and call it a day, if for no other reason than it sends a message to the customers that Adobe is no longer capable of delivering "Gee Whiz".
And that takes us to the now brutally bare bottom line:  Since no justification beyond "we outdated the tech" has been offered, Adobe really IS admitting to being incapable of maintaining that particular bit of Gee Whiz,  As flush with cash as they are with the success of the cloud model, it's clear they have chosen not to keep themselves capable of delivering it.  That's fundamentally disturbing.

  • How do I set new tabs to BLANK? Why did you remove that choice from me?

    FF 5.0
There use to be an option to set new tabs to blank.
How do I do that now that you removed the option.
I tried the obvious (?) of setting the new tab to "about:blank" and it still comes up with what ever search engine is paying you money.
I even tried an add on to set it to blank. That didn't work either.
Are we no longer allowed to have a clean, fast loading new page?

Firefox always Opens a New Tab in a Blank page. You must have some add-on installed that's making the new tab to not open as Blank.
-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Exit'''
-> '''Start Firefox in Safe Mode''' (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
Firefox Safe Mode window will open. DON'T SELECT ANY OPTIONS, just click '''Continue in Safe Mode'''
Check if the New Tabs are now opening as Blank pages while you are in Firefox Safe Mode.
-> '''The problem does not occur in Safe Mode'''
    * https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting%20extensions%20and%20themes#w_the-problem-does-not-occur-in-safe-mode
Check and tell if its working.

  • Why did you remove HD Audio via MINI USB out in Lollipop update?

I am really upset.  I would never have updated to Lollipop if I had known you had removed HD Audio output via mini USB.  Why??  Is it coming back?  You still advertise this tablet as having this feature when sold, but then you take it away?

I am wondering how we best get sony to hear and understand this issue.Currently the Lollipop Walkman app (8.5.A.3.3) is feeding all audio through the android framework (analogous to the Windows Kernel Mixer), which results in unnecessary signal processing and is detrimental to audio quality. If the Xperia Z Series and the Walkman app are to support Sony's positioning as a brand for audiophiles, they need to set this right. There should be a choice to send audio directly to the internal or an external USB DAC without any processing at all (similar to WASAPI in Windows)Material with >96kHz samplerate should be downsampled in integer ratio. 192 -> 96, 176.4 -> 88.2 to achieve maximum qualityIn the user interface there should be an indication of the bit depth/samplerate of the source file and the bit depth/samplerate that is sent to the DAC. Then one would see immediately, whether the source file is sent to the DAC bit-perfect or not.The USB Audio Player Pro app does most of these things right, which goes to show that it is not impossible to do this. Someone simply needs to sit down an do it. Am I the only one to see this as an issue?

  • WHY DID YOU REMOVE .MOBI EXPORTER!

PROBLEM: You have removed the .mobi exporter, and the the new Export > epub > Kindlegen process completely IGNORES the Table of Contents, whether the source anchor option is chosen or not.
Why couldn't you leave it the way it was? It worked great before.
I will be cancelling my CC membership and going back to InDesign 5, which exported .mobi JUST FINE!!
This kind of "improvement" is the most stupid of all.
    Sherry

The link to their plugin page is here.
Unfortunately there is little we can do to help you here as Amazon's InDesign plugin remains in "Beta" and they have not updated it to work on CC, which shipped almost a year ago.
I have had conversations with members of that team about this both in Seattle and in India but whether they do it and when they might do it is entirely upto them.
Do make your interest known over on the Amazon forums here and perhaps they will up their priority for this work.
We too wish KindleGen would more completely support EPUB3 - we intend to keep improving our support as it better captures the design richness that InDesign can create.

  • Why did you remove the "unlink this device" option?

Whenever I sign into Sync on a public device (like school computers), it syncs in my bookmarks, passwords, and history, which is good. That's what I want. But when I'm done using the device, I have to sign out of that device, and I can't find an option to do that. When I sign out of sync, it doesn't remove my bookmarks, passwords, or anything. I have to go and delete the bookmarks manually and clear search history. Which is VERY inconvenient. I do have a master password, but that only held with passwords, not with history or bookmarks. This is very troubling. I should be able to sign out of that device and have all my information removed. That's what Google Chrome offers and you don't! Where's the unlink device option?

  • Why oh why did you remove rosetta support?

This has caused me a bunch of pain. It was great that Lion was only 29.95 but upgrading to it means I have to rebuy MS office for mac and I have to buy parallels and I have to rebuy a bunch of programs to run in parallels not cool guys, not cool at all.

Jrizzo, the first essential step in upgrading to a new OS is making sure all the software you depend on has been updated to work with it, and that you have satisfactory replacements for any programs that won't. The lack of support for Rosetta in Lion was announced weeks or months before Lion's release, and was rumored for many months before it was officially announced.
Upgrading to a new OS is always optional. No one has to do it at all, or do it quickly, or make an irrevocable commitment to the new OS before they're sure it will work for them. If you do your homework, learn what will be involved, get your ducks in a row and make a bootable clone of your hard drive with the old system on it beforehand, upgrading will always be less painful and traumatic than if you just jump into it.

  • Why oh why did you remove the continuous play feature from videos!? Please bring it back!!!!!

  • After Effects CC 2014 - removal of H.264, MPEG-2, WMV, FLV, F4V, and SWF exporters - WHY !?

While reading the features of AfterEffects CC2014, I noticed the following:
"removal of H.264, MPEG-2, WMV, FLV, F4V, and SWF exporters from After Effects"
    THAT IS IS REDICULOUS!!
    NO FLV !?!?
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT USERS TO IMPORT INTO FLASH ??
IF no FLV export is available under After Effects CC 2014, there is NO WAY to EMBED an flv into flash !! (Linking is NOT always what is wanted!!)
    NO H264 !?!?!
    HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY ?!!?!?
    YOU BREAK WORKFLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    THAT IS REDICULOUS!!!
Any chance of restoring such features so that it makes updating to it worthwhile ?

To date I've primarily been a Photoshop user and have dealt with years of mystifying UX and workflow changes, features that are useless to me added, and critical ones taken away (I'm looking at you Bridge, you worthless piece of garbage).  Then, to add insult to injury, Adobe forum mods telling me I'm doing it wrong and should be jumping through more hoops to achieve the same results. Now, with AE becoming a bigger part of my work, I am sad to find, that the same culture of disconnected arrogance and myopia prevails on the AE dev team.
"Oh um user, you really want to be going through AME, because um technically speaking there have been many problems with the H.264 and MPEG-2 exporters in After Effects"
Oh really? Tell me more about my job. Tell me about my experiences exporting these formats directly from AE. Tell me how my client views my content, is it on a Mac, or a PC? Maybe it's on his phone, or her iPad. What kind of phone is it though? Tell me at what point in my process it's ideal to render. Tell me about other tasks I'm performing. Tell me about the resolution and the bit-rate my files should play at. Tell me the final application I will be using the footage. Probably broadcast right? Or is it web? Or is it PowerPoint? Wait, what if there is no final output? What if it's just pre-vis for some other application?
Tell me how to win over my clients; what's the correct method of presentation to engage them most impactfully? Tell me about how much time I have to render massive video files. Is it more time efficient due to the nature of my composite to render once because my file is super shallow and will render quickly or is it more efficient to render twice because my file is extremely complex with hundreds of layers?
That the deprecated formats were hidden away in the preferences menu is dumb and annoying. That this same preference would then be removed is despicable and petty and is further confirmation that Adobe has contempt for me as a user.

  • Why is Dynamic Link between Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014 not syncing audio changes?

When I try to use a Dyamic Link between something I've cut in Premiere and a composition in After Effects, if it is simply an audio level change it will not update in AE.  Only if I alter the Video track does it then take the changes reflected.  Any suggestions as to what is causing this?
Running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014.

As Dave alludes, AfterEffects is all about the visual changes ... or at least, mostly. For changes to the audio outside of PrPro's internal controls, highly suggested you use Audition instead. It is all about the sound ... and yes, will update PrPro when used correctly.
