After Effects CC: 3D Camera Tracker - No Render Points [HELP]

So I edit Call Of Duty videos and uplaod them to youtube, i always use the 3D Camera Tracker and it usually works perfectly. But, i recently reset my computer and re-donwloaded After Effects, and now my Camera Tracker is Analyzing AND Solving the footage with no errors, but after its done solving no render points come up unless i check "Render Track Points" in the Effects and Controls Window, and if i do that none of the Track Points are clickable. I made sure it is in Full res, the footage layer is selected, and the 3D Camera Tracker fx is selected and turned on in the Effects and Presets window. I get no errors at all and no "Unable To Solve For This Frame" error, so the footage should be able to be tracked, right? Please Help! D:

I had the same problem, I think the way I fixed it is by making sure the clip is exactly the same frame rate as the composition.  I'm having the problem again, but matching the frame rate doesn't effect the results...
Mylenium and Rick, I don't think either of those are the answers.  I've done both and neither solved the problem.  I know it's nothing advanced, it's a minor thing I can't put my finger on.

  • After Effects CC 3D Camera Tracker: Use only in Composition panel error help?

Hey guys, every time I drag the effect over into my clip, it says: 3D Camera Tracker: Use only in Composition panel. I tried right clicking my clip and clicking camera tracker, and it still says it. Can someone please help me?

Select your clip in the project panel, right-click or choose from the file menu "create new composition from selection," then in the timeline that is created from your video clip select the video later and run the camera tracker.

  • After Effects CS6, 3D camera track, matte painting

Hello everyone, I have a stable wide shot of a field that I want to use to practice inserting matte paintings.
The first step I did was track the shot with CS6's 3D camera tracker. It tracked perfect and inserted a "solid and camera".
The next thing I did was setup the different nulls I chose, to align flat with the surface in order for the matte painting to look more
believeable in the scene. The problem i'm having is that the matte painting still doesnt seem to stick correctly even though the tracking points are perfect.
Any ideas? I have never done a background replacement before.

Render a clip and put it up on YouTube/ Vimeo.

You're not going to get better results by recording it slower. You are not understanding the purpose 3D tracking. 3D tracking is used to put a CGI object in a scene  so that the CGI object sticks to the ground. I'm imagining that you want to put something like a character in this scene. If you want to have the character move through the entire scene then 3D tracking won't keep up in a single track. You may, however, be able to track the scene for one or two seconds. Let's say you have a shot that is moving down a street and around a corner. There is a tree on the right side of street. You can usually track successfully from where the tree enters the scene to where the tree leaves the scene. That's about it. Then you have to cut the shot and start again.
You also need detail for tracking to work. Game backgrounds have tied textures and repeating lines. These confuse the heck out of tracking software. What do you see in this frame from your movie that has enough detail to track? There' not much that can be used for 3D info.
Your only chance is to cut the shot up into short sections, track those, then put the scene back together later. It's not going to be a one click solution.

  • After Effects warning: An invalid track index

Hello, I am running CC 2014 on Windows 7.
I have a project with a significant amount of basic animation (just 2D scale and position keyframing), and while working on adding sound effects, I keep getting this error when I try to RAM preview: "After Effects: BE: An invalid track index has been added to the sequence."
If I hit ok, the preview plays, but with no audio.
Any ideas what to do? I've tried clicking tracks on and off, and it does help, but very inconsistantly to where I can't pin point the source of the problem. There's one track that when turned on, I do NOT get the error, and when turned off, or deleted, I DO get the error. This just baffles me.
Thanks for any help-- I'm on a tight deadline and really need to work through this ASAP.

You have two, and perhaps three, problems going on:
    1) Don't use mp3 audio in AE.  Just don't.  It has NEVER worked properly, and problems rear their ugly heads only intermittently... like when you time-remap it.  Convert mp3's to lossless audio files like wav or aiff.
    2) Don't Time Remap audio and expect it to work properly when you render.  It's better to export out the time-remapped audio as a wav or aiff, reimport and use the new audio clip when rendering.  Or just export it and use it in a video editing application along with your animations from AE.
    3) FORTY-NINE layers of audio?  That's crazy in AE!  AE stinks at audio!  It's Hell On Earth to mix all those tracks in AE!
I bet you can find a different application to put all those tracks together with the video.  I bet you can figure out an alternate workflow.  And you should.  The best way to use audio in AE is as a reference for timing your animations.  I use that strategy when I'm working on my stuff, and when I render, I don't render an audio track... not even when it's lip-sync audio!  I match up everything in a video editing application, and I have never, EVER had a problem.  Not once.  You can find a different application for that audio work -- now go find it.

  • Imported song into After Effects CS6 and won't fully render.

I imported a song into After Effects CS6 to use audio waveforms. I click RAM preview but it won't render or play past 18 seconds. What am I doing wrong and how do I render the entire audio track so it will actually play all the way through with the effects on it.

Ram preview length is determined by the amount of available ram. It is also usually limited to the work area. Either lower the resolution of the comp window or extend the work area.

  • Yosemite 10.10 and After Effects CC - Opens, but only the render que.

Downloaded the Yosemite beta 2 the other day, not thinking about how all programs would work or not. So, all adobe programs open just fine, except for After effects. I've heard others having problems opening it - my problem is bit different.
After effects opens up, but almost all menu options is greyed out, and nothing is clickable. The only window that opens is the render que. Is there any way to fix this? I can't find anything on google.
Another problem is that the ray tracing doesn't seem to find my GPU. I got my Geforce GT 750M included in that Ray tracing list file, if that makes any difference.

You have opened After Effects in Render Engine mode.
Don't double-click the icon in the application folder named Adobe After Effects Render Engine.
Remove any file named ae_render_only_node.txt in your Documents folder, as detailed here:

  • After Effects and the simple 20 hour render

    Hi,
I have this HD scène that is about a minute in playtime. When it was done it rendered out in about 1 hour and 20 minutes on my Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHz. That seems pretty reasonable to me.
I decided to add some lightwrap and edgeblur for some bad matching cg objects. For this I precomposed transformed layers so I had maybe about 20 preComps. For every preComp I added a matte layer, adjustment layer and light layer. So that's 60 layers. Note that all this is divided over about 10 parent comps (shots) so it's not all in the same comp.
Anyway, don't think so much about it, it hardly changed render time in the preview. Every frame still takes about 10 seconds to show up on screen when there's no cache, which is the same as before and seens reasonable.
But after the changes, render time was 20 hours!
This is ridiculous. It has no crazy stuff at all. Any cg was prerendered in other software and they together didn't even take that long.
I remember I had crazy render times some other time when I had a LOT of precomps. But the internal preview worked just fine then also.
It made me think about After Effect's efficiency so I put my CPU monitor gadget on screen (Windows 7 Pro x64) and it shows that After Effects is only doing a half decent job!
You see that all cores are working. The idle start and first peek is when I loaded the project and started rendering.
    Two questions:
Why is After Effects lazily using between 20 - 70 % of my CPU? There is clearly no HD I/O bottleneck involved, because 20 hours is enough to copy the internet as a figure of speech, and how can I force it to speed up?
Can I get a detailed log or something about what is rendered and how long it takes on a per-layer basis so I can see what is the bottleneck?

    Thanks for this information.
Though partially misunderstood me, pherhaps I said it wrong. Sorry for that.
I am not having 20 lights. This is a relatively simple 2d composition. I added lightwrap: a copy of the background over the middle- and foreground with some glow and holdout to pretend the subject fits in better.
I do a lot of compositing, cg and rendering, and anyone in my shoes would agree one maybe two hours is a reasonable render time for what I am doing. The preview time remained the same or increased by a neglitable amount, but the final render time increased 10 times. That strikes me as odd to say the least.
I have to examine the More Information note from "Information shown for current renders" to see if I can get per-layer rendertimes but it is not mentioned. I will check that on my next render.

  • Adobe after effects fps and camera movement

    Hello,
I'm new to this forum and i have a question for you people. I have been creating video's on youtube for a game. And the game has an average rate of 32 fps. Now another editor has done something amazing to his video. I think he adjusted the frame rate but i am not sure. Also, the video seems to be much stabilized. My question is, what plugin did he use for the framerate and colours?
As example: the video without the plugin (just skip to the gameplay): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9d_TTTaDJU
And the video with the plugin (just skip to the gameplay):     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9TG5FCRZJg
I hope you guys can help me out!
    Tom

I saw some examples that looked like time-remapping was used to speed up and slow down the video. See "Time-remapping".
There were lots of blurs and glitchy colors, so it's hard to know exactly what the person did to achieve this specific result. It seemed like a nearly random assortment of blur effects and color correction effects, with some other stuff thrown in.
By the way, figuring out how something was done is almost neever a matter of answering the question "Which plug-in was used?" Usually, the core of a technique or look is actually a bunch of the basic building blocks of After Effects assembled in a specific order. What I'm getting at is that the best way to learn to create a look of your own or dissect the work of others is to get a solid grounding in the basics first. And then build on that with some trial and error of your own, once you know enough to put some of the pieces together.

  • After Effects CC (2014) Error "I need some serious help right now!"

I wanted to create a Superman opening title sequence from After Effects CC (2014). So, I decided to download it from Creative Cloud and put the new "amtlib.framework" file on package contents in the "Framework" folder. I open the application and I get this error.
Then, this other error popped up.
That's where I'm at right now. So, a few questions come to mind.
    1. Should I open it in trial mode and quit out of it and then add the "amtlib.framework" file to "Framework" or will it just open and give me the same errors?
    2. Do I have to turn off my Wi-Fi and then open the application?
    3. Do I have to get the updates first?
Anyone who knows what to do with this issue, I would appreciate it. Don't give me BS answers and don't tell me that I have to update from Mavericks to Yosemite, because I have no interest in Yosemite.
Before I forget, here's info on my MacBook for those wondering.
This is an old laptop I had in the last week of January of 2011. I upgraded it to OS X Lion to Mavericks on 2014. I'm still on Mavericks.
Anyways, some answers and guidance would be great so I can fix the issue and move on.

    This is an old laptop
Yes, it is. And with an unsuitable processor and insufficient graphics memory at that. This will never work. You can only download an older version of AE as a trial.

  • After Effects error: strange situation [0/-939524096]  ( 26 ::139 ) help!

I am editing footage from a Nikon D7000 in Premiere. I select all and replace with after effects composition. Aftere effects opens and gives this error message. I am on a windows based machine.

Thanks for you responses. This is a short sequence with about 20 clips. I have in the past used this workflow successfully on short sequences. I like to assemble in pp and then apply colour correction/colour grading, and some sharpening in after effects. This problem has occured since I went from AE 5.5 to AE creative cloud. It was my intention to contrast and colour correct each individual clip as needed, then using an adjustment layer over the entire sequence to apply a colour grading. As an enthusiastic beginner, If there is a better way to accomplish this Id love to hear it.
