After Effects CC mov errors.

Is anyone having serious trouble importing and playing MOV files into AE? I keep getting errors(4) reading frame from volume. Never had this issue till I installed the new CC.

My After effects wont open. I've read many forums and info that others have written about it not opening. Stuff about erasing fonts, deactivating fonts, then also, finding folders /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore---> which was empty and had nothing to erase or do anything with http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/973961 ...Still nothing.

What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number (e.g., After Effects CS5.5 with the 10.5.1 update). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates"; give the specific version number.

It has worked for about 4 or 5 days. It was even working when i was doing the same action prior to the last time it stopped working. I was uploading a file from my other computers file. Which i had done many times throughout the day. As i work on one computer and when i have to leave and bring my laptop with me i do so. Because i work on my computer all day long. Desktop or laptop.
Do you have QuickTime installed. (You should.) If so, what version? The answer should be specific, such as "QuickTime 7.6.2".

After Effects CC (2014) Error "I need some serious help right now!"

I wanted to create a Superman opening title sequence from After Effects CC (2014). So, I decided to download it from Creative Cloud and put the new "amtlib.framework" file on package contents in the "Framework" folder. I open the application and I get this error.
Then, this other error popped up.
That's where I'm at right now. So, a few questions come to mind.
1. Should I open it in trial mode and quit out of it and then add the "amtlib.framework" file to "Framework" or will it just open and give me the same errors?
2. Do I have to turn off my Wi-Fi and then open the application?
3. Do I have to get the updates first?
Anyone who knows what to do with this issue, I would appreciate it. Don't give me BS answers and don't tell me that I have to update from Mavericks to Yosemite, because I have no interest in Yosemite.
Before I forget, here's info on my MacBook for those wondering.
This is an old laptop I had in the last week of January of 2011. I upgraded it to OS X Lion to Mavericks on 2014. I'm still on Mavericks.
Anyways, some answers and guidance would be great so I can fix the issue and move on.

Yes, it is. And with an unsuitable processor and insufficient graphics memory at that. This will never work. You can only download an older version of AE as a trial.

After Effects CC 2014 Error "error cannot be imported this moov file is damaged or unsupported"

Well, outside of the RAM preview issues that are stopping me from using AE CC 2014, I decided to at least use it to render a AE CC project already composed in CC.
I shut the CC project opened it in CC 2014 (same computer, same drive) and got the moov file error message. It would not recognize any Quicktime PNG movies, etc.
But the old CC does recognize them. Back to CC!

The permissions issue for the preferences folder seems to be the most common culprit recently.

After Effects CS4 Rendering Error

Every time I try to render a small loop I get the error message of :After Effects Error: Creating file "comp1.mov"- Access denied (-5000) (3::3)

What version of AE are you using and on what OS ?
Basically AE cannot write your file because it's already been used by another program. It could be locked by Quicktime, or maybe locked by your antivirus, or Time machine, or Even AE if the file is opened in your project.
It also can be locked because of file/folder permission (even if you are an administrator on Vista for exemple, your software cannot write file to some places without running them in Administrator mode, by rightclicking on them and selecting "run as admin").
Try to close any application that could be using your file, and try to export your file to another directory with another filename.

After Effects Disk Full error (-1610153463) when rendering to QTs

Hi! I'm having a very weird error on most of my computers when rendering to our shared storage,
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file "E:\xxx.mov". Disk Full. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1601053463)
All the machines in here can access the same media and storage volumes, they are mounted as NTFS volumes fron an iSCSI storage called DDP. All this was working fine until about 2 weeks ago, nothing was updated or upgraded on the storage.
Weird this is this do not fail if the render to the same location is done in AVI format, or with certain QT codecs.
NON codec fails immediately, writes a QT that is about 8 MB in size and fails.
DNXHD writes about 1 second of frames and fails.
BMP codec fails too.
but...
all those codecs render fine if I render to my desktop or to my D drive that is also a local drive inside of the computer, NTFS formatted too. So the codes mys be fine.
I can not discard ad storage issue, but like I said before, it ONLY fails if I use QT and some codecs, PhotoJPG for example does not fail, space, I have plenty.... and, this only happens from the windows computers, the MAC does not fail.
I'll keep testing stuff and will post what I find.... but if anyone have any suggestions or ideas.... are very welcome...

It is actually not a network drive, is is a NFTS drive mounted over iSCSI, its not a NFS volume. Workd fine for over a year, until last Windows Defender update... and it is actually fasted than my local drives since the local drives are simple SATA drives and this is a 48 Drives RAID connected over 10 GigE iSCSI and with a performance of 1050 MB/s.
Even our projects are saved on these iSCSI volumes, so all the rooms we have can work from the same project without having to duplicate media or projects between rooms, so producers can jump from room to room with the projects if the artist is bussy with something else and they need changes, someone else can take care of it...

After Effects 7.0 Error

Hello! I have a huge problem. We have a film project that it supposed to be finished soon. We are making a kind of big project. The project is about 10 minutes long. So now I am finished, trying to render but I always get after effects cant make ***X*** buffer. I Have tried all the methods I could find, Lowering the RAM cache, enabling disk space cache, lowered the undo setting and entered the "secret" preferences and such. None of these works! My work have to be done soon but I just cant export the movie! Please help!

The size of the buffer that cannot be allocated will give you a clue. Is it the same size as the composition, or the size of a nested composition? If the size is much larger than all compositions, it's usually a Blur effect that must allocate a buffer that is bigger. Try lowering the amount of blur and add several blur effects on top of each other to get the same look.

After Effects CS5.5 Error Rendering known clean project even after Reinstall and after System Restore

I've been getting frequent, but not consistent, errors during rendering AE CS5.5 projects with lots of 3D layers and lights. I have gone back to a known clean project to confirm the issue isn't with a particular project. The error is usually an error invoking the advanced 3D render engine. This is sometimes followed by a bad tracked memory id popup. But sometimes the program just hangs up.
My System:

24GB RAM
Windows 7 professional 64 bit SP1
NVidia Geforce GTX 570
I have trashed the preferences, cleaned the cache, turned off rendering multiple frames, deleted Open GL, updated the graphics card drivers and even tried reverting to old graphics card drivers. Window's Memory Diagnostic Tool didn't find any problems. System File Checker Tool didn't find any corrupt files. My system drive is not fragmented. I have reinstalled AE, reinstalled all of CS5.5, and did a system restore to a known working point (both with and without doing the Windows updates that have occurred since the restore point). None of this fixed the problem.
I have tried the script BG Renderer to render in the background. I have consistently gotten the following error running the script, which I'm hoping will be a clue:
"aerender ERROR An existing connection was forcible closed by the remote host.
:Unable to receive at line 314
aerender ERROR: After Effects can not render for aerender. Another instance of aerender, or another script, may be running; or, AE may be waiting for a response from a modal dialog, or for a render to complete. Try running aerender without the - reuse flag to invoke a separate instance of After Effects."
The first two times I tried to render with BG Renderer, the error came right after closing AE. But I still got the same error if I left AE open and just sat and watched.
Any help is appreciated.

Update: I believe I have discovered the problem! It was a bad RAM stick. Windows Memory Diagnostic tool found nothing wrong, and nothing in my system seemed to be effected other than the ability to render complex AE projects with 3D layers. After a complete system restore to a known working point failed to help, I opened up the machine. Finding nothing loose, I methodically tested all the memory sticks to find the culprit. Everything is running smoothly now, albeit on less RAM.

Adobe After Effects Cs6 Installation Error. HELP!

When i do my installation of Adobe After effects cs6, i install as trial version, because i want to see what it is like, and i do everything like everyone says, and then it stops at 2 percent saying Installation Failed and it comes up with these solutions, and i did them all about 5 times and it STILL wont work! SOMEBODY HELP!

Adobe After Effects CS5 & Quicktime ERRORS / crashing...

I am having a lot of AE CS5 crashing (app just quits for no reason while scrubbing) and other weirdness...like today, and I am being told on the Adobe Boards that it 's Quicktime related. I am rendering a 3 minute piece in ProRes 4:2:2 (1280x720p) to my RAID (no special plug-ins or anything) and I get the following error at the very end of every render:
+After Effects Error: Rendering error while writing to file (insert my RAID path here). An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted (-1610153464)+
They are telling me the long number at the end indicates a Quicktime problem, which is unfortunately not so rare with 64bit AE due to how Apple does not really have a 64bit Quicktime and Adobe needs to work their way around some of that.
Is this true? Can I fix this on my own or is there a 64-Bit QT Pro coming with the new Final Cut Studio? Any input is gratefully appreciated...thanks.

After effects cs4 "distiller error"

I recently bought and installed adobe creative master collection cs4. My computer isn't the best...but i made it meet the minumum requirement nessecary to run the programs.
Anyway,more to the point.
Every program seems to work apart from adobe after effects, i was looking forward to using that one.
When i open it, i have to minimise all other windows, or it won't load, all i hear is the good old MS "beep error sound".
about 1/10 times it will come up with an error, i don't remember exactly but something along the lines of this.
"another instance is being used in distiller. this instance will not continue".
Any Ideas, it's probably something simple i know
P.S-I installed all the updates nessecary, at 1st it was running, but i made a few clicks and it closed itself, now it refuses to run, i have uninstalled and re-installed it. it gets to installing the media core and stops.

Another app (some older Adobe software, presumably) is having a hold on your shared PDF libraries or the Adobe font system, which AE also needs to deal with vector files or legacy PostScript fonts. The quick, but unelegant solution is to terminate those programs/ services (Acrobat quick starter for instance) by killing their process in task manager, the long-term solution would be to straighten out that mess and get a handle on which program does what. I have installed After Effects CS 5.5 on my new Mac, through the Adobe Creative Suite Help / Download CS 5.5 products. This error keeps on coming up when ever I open an old project or I'm about to save a new one. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, used the clean up tool provided by Adobe and nothing is working. I even chatted with Adobe Tech Support and the user informed me that my "issue needs expert assistance". I could really use some help! Please and thank you!

Thank you Rick! I have reset the permissions in the Library/Preferences folder, I don't know if I did it correctly so I made a before and after to show you what I changed.
And here is the new warning message now. And when I tried to save a new test composition, the original error came up, so I'm assuming I didn't change the permissions correctly.

After Effects CS6 upgrade error in mac mavericks

Say hello to everyone.
Now i'm very tired and irritated about upgrading after effects cs6. Because my mac version is mac os x 10.9.5, mavericks so have to upgrade After Effects cs6.
BUT, only upgrade version 11.04 installed, and the others (11.01/ 11.02/ 11.03) still not installed and have an error message : the error code is U44M2P7.
What is this code mean and what should i do next?

If you have 11.0.4 installed, you have everything in 11.0.1, 11.0.2., and 11.0.3
There is no reason to install any update other than 11.0.4
