After Effects CC won't install/update in Mac OS 10.9.3 (Maverick)

I just updated my Mac OS to 10.9.3 (Maverick). I was able to re-install/update all of my CC programs except for
After Effects. I get all kinds of errors. First it was "can't patch". Now it's "There was an error installing this update. Please Quit and
try again later. Error Code U44M11210". What can I do to get After Effects to work?

Adobe After Effects CS3 won't install

I have windows XP, and I used to have my version of Adobe After Effects CS3 installed. Then I uninstalled it because it kept crashing, but I forgot to deactivate it before I uninstalled it. Now every time I've tried reinstalling it, the installation goes completely fine until the last step, when it says:

Did you correctly uninstall the software? Are there other Adobe programs on the system? Sounds like there are other, newer versions that throw off the install. You need to uninstall those and reinstall them after you have installed CS3. Also simply delete the caps.db in C:\Program Files\Common Fiels\Adobe\caps. And for further diagnosis it might help to have a look at the install logs.

After effects cs4 won't install with the Adobe Creative Suite 4

yesterday I bought Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, i let it download through out the night and the next day i installed it and noticed that it came every single application except after effects cs4. there is no folder or icon for it, but everything else works. im in the process of uninstalling it and re-installing it, but i doubt it will help. i downloaded the after effects cs4 trail months ago, then deleted it. i don't think that's the problem though.I called adobe and was on hold for literally two hours, and when i was able to talk to someone they were not really able to help much.
im on a macbook, version 10.5.8
2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo
2 gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
EDIT: i installed it again, looked at the install options more closely and realesed that it does come with it, it just wont let me install it or check it to be installed, because it says its already installed. i checked all over my hard drive for it and its not there. i really need some help.

also if I waited and got after effects cs5 do you think it would actually work, and would i be able to get the student discount again?

After effects 7 won't install

when I click on Adobe After Effects 7.0, it asks if I want to run the software, and I click on “RUN,” then a window opens and immediately closes and another one comes up, “Adobe AD 7.0 Installer Information” w/ exclamation mark in yellow triangle saying “You must install Adobe AE 7.0 using Setup.exe.”
I click OK and get “InstallShield Wizard completed... wiz was interrupted before AE 7.0 completely installed...to complete install at another time, run setup again. Click finish to close wizard.”
and that’s it.
no install interface ever comes up.

Thanks for this. I noticed the mention of this at that download page, but since I was directed to it by Adobe chat support and told it would be where I would download, I did so anyway. I asked about the activation server being "unavailable" and what that meant but was just told again to go there to download. Nice of them to bother to send me there and have me uninstall and reinstall, etc., knowing it would not work. Why even have that list with all the download links. Waste of my time and now I have a program that I spent a lot of money on that is useless. This makes me very reluctant to buy any more Adobe products in the future.

Lastest Adobe After Effects Trial Won't Install!

Hi there, I have a Dell Inspiron 530S with 2gb ram and 140gb hard drive, and I downloaded the Adobe After Effects, the latest one, CS4, and then I ran the extractor. And then, when I run the setup, a pop up comes up and says like Windows is searching for the problem, and it says adobe setep has stopped working. Im running vista. Any help ideas please? I have tried running as admin so I'm really stuck here.

As pointed out by Andrew, please provide more detailed info. some things to look into:
- Do you have sufficient disk space in your user home directory (Users/Chris/Temp and so on)?
- Likewise, do the directories required for the generic components have enough capacity? (Program Files, Users/All Users/AppData, Users/Chris/AppData/Local etc.)
- Regardlkess whether you are running as an admin, check your UAC and DEP settings. If you think they may be a problem, there is no harm in turning them off, at least temporarily.
- The usual rest: check your files and directories for general user permission issues.

After Effects CC won't update

Hi,
After Effects CC won't update on both my computers.
Every time I try to install the AE CC update, the installer asks me to close AdobeCrashDaemon to continue.
After quiting AdobeCrashDaemon and checking Activity Monitor to make sure it's not running, the installer keeps asking me to close AdobeCrashDaemon.
I hope you can help me.

Hi Jeff,
I checked the installation log file and found the error notice:
ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC/Adobe After Effects CC.app/Contents/Frameworks/mc_dec_amr.framework/mc_dec_amr"(Seq 4)
I opened the folder Applications/Adobe After Effects CC, and can't find the rest of the /After Effects CC.app/ etc. path inside it.
What would be the next step to solve this?

Yes, I've read this before, but renaming folders was impossible cuz i've deleted all from Program Files/Adobe. But I've read this again after your reply and I realized that some files were in Common Files in folder Adobe. And that files were the problem because when I've deleted all of this, the installation was successful;) It took three days cuz adobe creative suite cleaner tool didn't delete this files. Thanks a lot!

I have this too, with ML 10.8.2 - pretty sure you can't install custom drivers. Did you find a solution?
EDIT: Didn't realise I had to update the CUDA drivers manually on OS X! Downloaded from here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda-mac-driver.html and all is OK

I installed it over the weekend after seeing it mentioned in my RSS feed and have been using it heavily for a few days. The updater launched from within AE did not find the update. I had to go to the download page that was linked to in the feed. Installed from that download with no problem on Windows 7.
AE 10.0.1. has crashed on me twice over the weekend. Both times I was scrubbing through a composition that uses a pretty intense plug-in (Video Gogh). I would submit a bug report to Adobe or the plug-in developer, but the problem has not been repeatable. Also, an AE composition dynamically linked to PPro may have made PPro crash. I wish I could give more details on that but I was, as usual, trying to do too many things at one time.
Other than that, everything went smoothly during many hours of compositing in AE.

I am having the same problem as the user who originally posted.
(I am not the insulting poster, by the way)
Specifically:
- my current version of After Effects CS5 is 10.0.0.458. This was purchased as a retail DVD as part of the Production Premium Suite.
- when I run Adobe Updater from the program it says everything is up to date.
- I downloaded the dmg file directly from Adobe (AfterEffectsRetail-10.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg)
- when I run the file off the disk image, it again launches Adobe Application Manager and give me the error message "Update is not applicable."
So I can find no way to install this update.
I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6 on a 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Thank you for your help. I am having the aiff audio bug that others have experienced and documented and would like to be able to install this upgrade.
