After effects composition preview video not working correctly

Okay so, whenever I try to change something on the composition preview video, it doesn't work. I have to go to a completely different screen and go back to see what ive changed, and when I try to ram preview it doesn't even do anything but play the music. Im not very tech savy so I don't know any big words, so try and dumb stuff down for me okay? Please help me, Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with premiere's cs5 "replace with after effects composition" command. Every time I try doing it I get just a new comp made in after effects but no files so the screen is just black without content.
Then the video in premiere dissapears too and the "file" in the timeline turns a pink color.
Any ideas about whats going on here? thanks in advance.

Grant, I did figure it out (and felt rather silly when I did). You have to select all your files from the Project portion of AE and drag them into the Render segment - bottom left corner of your AfterEffects screen - in order for them to play. I guess I should have come back to the forum and reported once I got it working, so everyone would know that there's nothing wrong with Adobe. Once you do that, there are all sorts of super-cool things you can do with a slide show for video presentation. I did decide to put it into Windows Media Play and convert to MPEG before uploading to the internet, however, because it reduced the size to roughly 15% of AVI. I preserved AVI for DVD because of quality, which is far better.

After Effects CC, Premiere Pro CC 2014, Photoshop CC 2014 work correct with Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

Uninstall the Blackmagic drivers and install the latest version.
If that doesn't help, make sure you are using a comp size that matches a frame format supported by the Blackmagic card.

After update insert trigger is not working correctly

Hello experts!
I created an after insert/update trigger and what strikes me is that it is not working as expected.
The trigger launches a procedure that does an insert in a second table if values in the triggered table ("my_table") are altered.
The problem is that the values in my second table, which are correlated to "my_table", are not changed with the correct values right away. The trigger and insert trails behind!
I have to update twice for the values to appear in my second table. Only then, the data of the first update will be inserted into the second table wheras the parent table ("my_table") will hold the latest values.
Do you have an idea what could be wrong?

Let's concentrate on the trigger and procedure:
The purpose of the procedure is to insert data into tbl_test once a record in "fangzahlen" has been updated or inserted.
Tbl_test holds the mean average values (int_anzahl) for a number of collected items (lng_schaedling).
I need to insert date values for the combination of each lng_fangzahlen, lng_schaedling, lng_falle and int_fallennr into tbl_test.

My problem is thatthe values above will only appear after I do another update to table fangzahlen or insert a new record into it. Theoretically the result above should be inserted right away?

Preview video not working

I recently purchased iMovie 09, and up until today it was working fine. Now, videos don't play in the project preview window or in full screen. They play as I scroll through them, and they play in the preview window if the clip isn't in the project, but if they're in the project and I press spacebar or whatever, the video stops wherever the cursor is pointed to and the audio plays, but the video doesn't play.
Also, yesterday I downloaded the Safari 4 beta. I read somewhere that this could be the problem, so I uninstalled it, but iMovie still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated!

Possible Solution:
If your iMovie project is using video from an event that has a lot of video in it, split that event up. Do this via right click->Split Event Before Click.
Background:
When I would start up iMovie '08 (7.1.4) everything worked fine until I clicked on a certain project that I had made. Then the preview window would not work--it showed a blank screen or was checkered, even though the audio would play. Weird things would continue to happen, and none of the other projects would play in the preview window, it seemed to get progressively worse.
The project used video from an even that had a lot more video in it than other events I was using. It had 45:45 and the others less than 30min. I split the event up half way via right-clicking about half way and then selecting "Split Event Before Clip". This split the event into two events, and everything works fine now. (When you split the event, you need not worry about messing up your project, it knows that you have split the event and can still find the video.)

After Effects CS4 Sniffer_gpu is not working

After Effects was working fine a few minutes ago and then the next time I started it up it suddenly gave me this message that sniffer_gpu had stopped working. After that, it said something like "After Effects can't continue:sorry. After Effects have crashed". I've been searching all over the internet only to see that no one was able to solve my problem! During the time where it last worked and the time where it began to NOT work, I did not install any weird software or close down anything - I was simply trying to open a project file.
After Effects did not work even after I've ran a deep care scan on Advanced SystemCare Beta. And I have no idea how to access the "product details" of my computer to give further information. Please help me, guys! I need an answer ASAP!! I'm a book trailer maker and I need After Effects working! I have a deadline I need to meet! >.<

Uhhh... you have to restart the system? I always put my computer on hibernation since I have lots of programmes working mid-way and I don't want to close them and then find out where I last stopped. Is hibernation bad? I tend to get Windows Updates and within a few hours my anti-virus software goes from A grade to D grade!

Adobe After Effects Multiple instances does not working parallel using Scripting

Hi all,
i am uploading after effects template to my site, user came and upload his desired contents.
i update the template using scripting with user's contents and then render video so user get video with his uploaded text/images etc.
its working perfectly when i update a single template at a time but when multiple users come at the same time then they need multiple instances of after effects
so i open multiple instances of after effects by using "-m" with after effects shortcut
after looking at windows task manager there are both instances but the problem is
only once instance continue and the second one stop, after completion of first instance the second one still in pause status
i need 2,3 4 or whatever instances to work parallel without pause/stop
i am using windows server 2008 R2 with XAMP installed

IChat Audio and Video not working correctly...

Hi.
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. Before upgrading, I was able to video chat with little to no problem with family over iChat. I just tried it again today for the first time since upgrading to Snow Leopard and the audio is barely working (can only make out every few words, if that), and the video is extremely distorted to where you can sometimes not even tell there are people there. It gets all pixelated and weird. I tried doing the chat with Google Talk and then again with Skype, and had just as many problems with those. My family is using a Mac with an older OS, and they can see and hear me perfectly fine. I'm not sure if the problem is with my computer or with theirs, or if it's just a communication problem, but any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks!

After iChat developed missing audio and video pixellation problem post Snow Leopard installation at my mother-in-law's machine (and ours), I tried the usual decrease the bandwidth fix to no avail.
The solution that actually fixed the probem was to turn off port forwarding protocol on her Time Capsule and our Airport Extreme. Things are now working smoothly even at 500 kbps settings on both ends.
An interesting aside... Turning off port forwarding for ssh to her machine doesn't kill the ssh port tunnel from the outside LAN to her mac. It looks like iChat and the Time Capsule keep an incoming ssh tunnel open even if you have disabled port forwarding on the Time Capsule. I suspect this "secret" opening of ports is the magic of why iChat and screen sharing have been so much easier to set up when a Mac is behind an Apple router. 3rd party routers need ports manually forwarded to the Mac. Apple routers just worked ---- and it looks like Apple does it by invisibly opening ports on their routers when a Mac runs iChat.
Pretty nifty, but also silently opens a security hole that you may THINK you closed. SL seems to trip up over this arrangement when you also turn on Port Mapping Protocol and manually assign ports to forward.
At any rate, it wasn't the data rate, it was a new bad interaction between the Apple Router's Port Mapping Protocol and iChat 5. Turn off PMP on the airport and all becomes well once more.

After effects ram preview video playback issue

Greetings -- I have Mac Pro 2.93 GHz 12 Core with Nvidia Quadro 4000 & 24GB Ram.
During ram preview playback, it seems as though the video isn't refreshing fast enough in the display -- meaning its almost as if I can see the refresh on the top/bottom half of the frame happening separately. It's a bit diffucut to describe, actually. This does not happen with the same clip in Premiere, just AE.
The rendered video is fine and plays in QT/VLC, etc. without issue, it's just ram preview and is very distracting.
Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated!

IPhone Video Not Working Correctly

So I just got an iPhone and I love it, but the video on it seems a bit buggy. I have a few videos, a movie trailer, and a music video on there and sometimes the video doesn't play and sometimes just the audio plays. Sometimes the video and audio play and then the movie just quits to the main video selection screen.
Some tech stuff you should know...
All files are .mov 480x320 and encoded with MPEG-4 video codec and AAC audio
Also note that they all play fine when played from iTunes.
Please help hope I don't have to take my phone to the shop already

Why is a line appearing on my After Effects composition that is not present in the original .ai file

There is a small black line that cuts through an area of my AE composition. The composition is made up of layers from an original AI file. When I go to edit the original, there is no line present, but when I go back to the AE comp, it is still there. Any ideas on how to rememdy this glitch?

Here is the screenshot of the entire comp panel. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. I went into AI to check my layers to make sure there were no hidden lines. Pressing "U" twice didn't show anything other than a change in position. I have made any changes to this particular layer. However, it must be something on the layers because when I move it, the line stays with it. When looking at the layer in the project panel, the line shows there as well. I went into illustrator and added a box on top of it to see if the line would show, but it didn't, however, when I copied the letters in the AI layer and added them above the original ones, the line still appeared in the AE. I'm assuming it is something to do with the letters, or perhaps the pattern I used. It's just funny that it only shows in AE and it's not affecting any other layers. The letters have been outlined and expanded in AI and are all on separate sublayers.

** Filtering is not working correctly in ALV (REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY)

We have one Z report that output is displayed in ALV. We are using the standard FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
We have requirement to remove leading zeros for the field like Material Number (MATNR), Equipment Number (EQUNR) etc. We did the changes by applying the field catalog properties as below.
lw_fieldcat-lzero = space.
lw_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
After this, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly in the ALV. (Leading zeros are suppressed). But, when we do filter for these fields, in the filter window it displays all the values with leading zeros.
1. We don't understand why it is showing in the Filter widow with all leading zeros. All it shows all the records instead of unique items.
Later on, we removed the above fieldcat coding. Then, we have called the CONVERSION_EXIT routines (in the domain) for the fields to remove leading zeros.
Now, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly (without leading zeros) in ALV. When we do filter, it is also doing filtering correctly. But, when we do filter which have EQUNR having long values (after zero suppression), it is not working correctly. i.e no items are displayed in the ALV.
Not only for this items. If we filter character columns which have long text, it is not filtering correctly.
2. It is not able to understand why the filtering is not working for long items. But in the standard report, the filtering is working correctly.
We are using SAP ECC 6.0.
Friends, can you clarify the about doubts. It is surprising for me.

I agreed on your point. When we define the Internal table the type for element EQUNR & QUMNR , we are referring the SAP data element for EQUNR, QMNUM field.
Our doubt is even though we refer the standard data element, in the ALV display, it shows with leading zeros and also it creates problems in the filtering and in the filter window all values instead of unique nos.

You haven't given us much to go on here. What exactly are you doing and what exactly happens when you try? Which specific version of each program are you using? (Go to Help>About...)
On a side note, a simple, brief thread title is all that's needed. Something like "After Effects Issue" would be fine. You don't need the full question there.

Replacing a subclip with an After Effects Composition doesn't work properly

I have a Premiere Project with DV PAL footage. I have gone through my footage and identified all sorts of subclips in my project, and arranged them into bins. For a few, on the sequence timeline, I want to replace them with After Effects Compositions so I can add some effects.
If I right-click on a designated subclip (or part of a subclip), and choose "Replace with After Effects Composition", After Effects starts up and I end up with an After Effects project containing 3 items:
- a composition called "MyProject Linked Comp 1" (duration: length of sub clip, but the comp's layer itself (the next comp) has a duration of zero, so I just see black)
- another composition called "My Subclip" (duration: length of subclip, starting at beginning of original video footage, not at start of subclip),
- and then the full original video file also called "My Subclip" (and I mean the full original video file that the subclip points to). This is full length.
The linked Composition is therefore viewed as being blank in After Effects, and is returned as such in Premiere Pro.
What does work properly is if I simply drag a selected clip (in/out) from the Source Monitor in Premiere Pro to the sequence timeline, and then right click and choose "Replace with After Effects Composition".
Then I end up with an After Effects project containing:
- a composition called "MyProject Linked Comp 2" (duration: length of selected clip, and the comp's layer itself (the next comp) has the correct duration, so I see the selected clip!)
- another composition called "My SourceVideo" (duration: length of full original video, starting at beginning of original video footage, not at start of subclip),
- and then the full original video file also called "My SourceVideo" (and I mean the full original video file that the selected clip points to). This is full length.
In this case the linked Composition is therefore viewed as being the selected clip in After Effects, and is returned as such in Premiere Pro.
So subclips don't work as I would expect them. I have also tried with a few different video formats. Can anyone else reproduce this behaviour, or even better, find a way to make it work?

I had the same issue. Created multiple subclips from various parts of a master, mixed subclips on the timeline (all from the same master clip) and when I replace it with an AE comp is send it over with 1 subclip only (eg I had clips for showroom and warehouse, it only send showroom) so any refences to the clips it didn't send were blank!
So I had to replace all the clips with the master clip (I would like to know if there is a quick way to revert subclips back to master, had to do it manually and it was a pain) and now it is working fine. This doesn't mean subclips don't work; if all the clips are derived from the same subclip it worked for me.

I need to push the buttons twice, and than atv is only reacting sometimes.
Any ideas?

Same problem here. First, I thought it was the Apple remote's battery. I replaced that and the problem persisted. I then used my digital video camera to verify that the remote was actually transmitting infrared, it was. In frustration, I tapped the buttons rapidly while pointing at the Apple TV. The Apple TV responded. The next button press it failed to respond. I tapped rapidly again and it finally responded. After many many rapid presses, while pointing directly at the Apple TV, it finally began responding to all presses. Once I'd regained control (I thought) I unpaired and re-paired the remote. Everything continued to work. At that time I also saw that I could "learn" another remote. So, I set up my Samsung TV remote. Sweet. Until the Apple TV went into screensaver mode again and I had to go through the same rapid button press sequence... with either the Apple remote or my learned Samsung remote. Conclusion, since the Apple TV will become fully responsive after the rapid button press sequence, it is certainly a software related problem.
