After Effects CS4 not installing
If this isn't the place on the forum to post this please say so. Every thing was working until one day after effects started making my image sequences alot smaller than usual. I could find no help for this, so I restored my computer. After it got done restoring After Effects wasn't installed. I restored it to when it had been installed. This confused me so i tried to re-install it using the package that you download from the trials(I'm using the trial versions). It got to about 80% loaded(Not 80% installed, the installer was 80% open) it froze and wouldn't go any further. I had to use Ctrl Alt Delete to get it closed. I reinstalled the installer many times, but the same thing kept happening.Thanks for your help I can't figure out what's going on.
No, sorry, all wrong. First, let's get the obvious out of the way: You cannot extend the trial. With your incorrect attempts at "fixing" it, you have effectively ruined it completely. Even if you can revive it now, it will tell you that your trial period has expired and that is that, as they say. Only buying the full version will allow you to continue work. That aside, the only way to get it installed correctly once more would be to use the CS4 Clean Script from the support pages to wipe the installer database. This will make it look like there never even was an AE on the system, with the exception of the licensing system. When using it, you should also uninstall other Adobe software first. The script doesn't cover things like Adobe AIR, Acrobat.com etc., yet those can often be a cause for trouble during installs. Those tools have to be manually uninstalled to not get in the way. Well, anyway, as I said, this is most likely moot, regardless of your efforts...

All operate fine, except for After Effects and Audition. I can pass on Audition, but I disparately need After Effects. It will not load. I use a Mac Pro, at 3 GHz, with 3.5 Terabyes of RAM. I have downloaded After Effects four time and the trial vesion once. I have gone through three of you technicians — one of them suggest loading and trying the trial version. That doesn't work either.
Every time I try to load After Effects, it doesn not load and I get the same error.
Is there any way to load AE or will I have to drop the Cloud and buy a hard copy?

After Effects did not install with the rest of CS4
I purchased the Student Edition of CS4 Production Premium. When I ran the installer I selected "custom" and AE was unchecked and it would not let me check it. I did regular install and it did not install AE. I used all 4 discs in the box. Any thoughts?

Hello i am german and 14 years old so please be sorry for my bad english I have a question to after effects cs4! I installed the demoversio a half year ago but i never used it! Now i want to test it before i will buy the full-version! But if i start after effects it only says accept the lizens and then nothing happens!

Photoshop and After Effects is not installing with the new updates, any suggestions?
Each time the update says that the "update failed". I have tried the update several times, both on my laptop and my iMac. Photoshop finally installed on the iMac, but neither will update on the MacBook Pro.

Premeire CS4 and After Effects CS4 not working
If this isn't the place on the forum to post this please say so. Every thing was working until one day after effects started making my image sequences alot smaller than usual. I could find no help for this, so I restored my computer. After it got done restoring After Effects wasn't installed. I restored it to when it had been installed. This confused me so i tried to re-install it using the package that you download from the trials(I'm using the trial versions). It got to about 80% loaded(Not 80% installed, the installer was 80% open) it froze and wouldn't go any further. I had to use Ctrl Alt Delete to get it closed. I reinstalled the installer many times, but the same thing kept happening. After this happend I figured I could live without the After Effects Trial. Adobe Premiere worked perfectly untill I tried to export to a media file. When I do that it comes up with an error. When I click the error button a text file comes up with a bunch of numbers, also it says something like "This operation was canceled by the user". I didn't do anything to cancel it so I have no idea what's happening. If you need the text document posted please say so. Thanks for your help I can't figure out what's going on.
I'm trying to export to .avi, but the weird thing is was it was working before the whole thing with after effects.

All of space(primary storage) is 499.07GB and l can use 391.3GB more.
l bought all of Cs6 program so i installed Photo shop, premiere, lllustrator, lndesign and so on.
but l can't install After effects. l don't know the reason.

Hello, I have tried downloading and installing After effects CS6 countless times, through the download assistant and through the adobe application manager. It installs and all but before it finishes downloading into my computer it gives me an error. the error says this:

Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content only installed on one of two computers

I installed Adobe Creative Suite CS4 MC on two systems. One system lists "Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content" in Add/Remove Programs. This left me a bit baffled as to what this content is and why it only installed on one machine (i.e., assuming I did not erroneously selected or deselected it during the default install). I thought it would be reasonable to install the missing content on the second machine but I cannot find an installer listing "Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content" in the CS4 default or custom installer.
Could someone please tell me what this content is used for and how I can install it on the second machine?

That's not true for one case.
If you install After Effects in trial mode, the third party content won't be installed. But it leaves the third party content installer on your machine so that when you add a serial number the plug-ins can be added. This causes a new installer to run, so it will be registered (and need to be uninstalled) separately from the main installer.
Frederick- Verify that both machines have the third party plug-ins that Mylenium listed. If it's not on the second machine you probably have it in trial mode and need to serialize. (If not, try uninstalling and reinstalling After Effects from the Master Collection package.) -
Problem installing trial version of After Effects CS4

I'm trying to install the trial version of After Effects CS4 on Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1 32-bit Operating System, Processor 2.4GHz, RAM 4GB.
At the initializing stage it gets to 90% on the 'Checking System Profile...' dialog box, something flashes and then it freezes.
I've downloaded it a second time in case of corruption.
I've rebooted several times and retried it with no other applications running.
I've run updates on any existing adobe products I have.
Any ideas? I've never had problems installing adobe products before.

a) Download the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility and install it
b) Download the CS4 Cleanup Utility from Adobe's support pages
c) Run the CS4 Cleanup, electing to remove all debris from your failed install
d) Manually uninstall all instances of Adobe AIR products (Acrobat.com, Adobe Media Palyer) using Add or Remove Programs
e) Launch the Microsoft Installer Cleanup and look for instances of Adobe Installer 2.0. Have them removed. Optionally, have it remove other Adobe stuff that may have been left over from CS4.
f) Try to install CS4
Note: The cleanup utilities will not remove anything physically, only clean out the installer, so they pose no danger to your system. You will only lose the ability to uninstall those programs from Add or Remove Programs.

After effects cs4 won't install with the Adobe Creative Suite 4
yesterday I bought Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, i let it download through out the night and the next day i installed it and noticed that it came every single application except after effects cs4. there is no folder or icon for it, but everything else works. im in the process of uninstalling it and re-installing it, but i doubt it will help. i downloaded the after effects cs4 trail months ago, then deleted it. i don't think that's the problem though.I called adobe and was on hold for literally two hours, and when i was able to talk to someone they were not really able to help much.
im on a macbook, version 10.5.8
2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo

EDIT: i installed it again, looked at the install options more closely and realesed that it does come with it, it just wont let me install it or check it to be installed, because it says its already installed. i checked all over my hard drive for it and its not there. i really need some help.

also if I waited and got after effects cs5 do you think it would actually work, and would i be able to get the student discount again?We cannot know. We need exact system info. As a start, you might consider turning off UAC completely and running as admin...

After Effects CS4 WMImport.AEX not loading

I just installed a fresh OS and CS4 and AE throws an error when I load it. Can you please help me figure out how to fix it?

The machine is a dual xeon quad core 2.5 SuperMicro with 16gb of memory and several TBs of storage. The OS is Vista 64 SP2, with all of the updates applied. AE is version 9.0.2. I've uninstalled AE, and reinstalled it, with the same error still coming up.

MikeAs Steve said, re-installing Windows Media Player seems a good idea. Manually initiate a Windows Update and check, if you are offered to upgrade to WMP 11 or if it's already on your system. if it is, then you may need to download the Windows Media Redistributable package and install it manually. The plug-in may be looking for an old DLL or registry key that is no longer used by WMP 11, but usually would be on your system when you ran the updates from an earlier state. Also consider installing an alternate Media Player like VLC. This may also fix the misconfiguration of the Windows Media components.

After Effects CS4 install on Win XP 64bit OS
I am trying to install the After Effects CS4 trial unto a Win XP 64bit OS. There was only one trial download available and figure that if there is a 64-bit trial versions, it would be packaged with this also.
The installer designates installation location as "C:/Program/Adobe" which is correct as this is the 64bit program folder location. However, it actually drops the application in "C:/Program Files/Adobe (x86)". Also when After Effects CS4 is ran, it shows up as a 32-bit app in the Windows Task Manager process list (labeled as "AfterFX.exe *32")
If possible, is there a way to get After Effects CS4 properly recognized as a 64bit app under XP64? I know this OS is not fully support per system requirements, but managed to install Photoshop CS4 as a 64bit app without issues.
Another thing that confuses me also is the After Effects CS4Readme/technote:

Does this mean After Effects CS4 is a 32-bit only app?Thanks for the quick clarification. I figured since video is so memory intensive, After Effects and Premier Pro would naturally be the first apps in their lineup to receive full 64bit compatability. Seems Photoshop CS4 is the only full 64bit app in their productivity line up.

Adobe After Effects CS4 will not load to Snow Leopard
Recently My hard drive crashed. I reloaded Snow Leopard on my computer and all of my support applications.
I attempted to load Adobe After Effects CS4, but it would not load.
I read where others had problems back in 2009.
Is there a fix for this problem?Mmh, something is leaking. Are there any other Adobe products on the system that use MPEG CoDecs (Premiere, Encore, Adobe Media Encoder). If so, my best guess would be that those are not installed correctly or were messed up during an update or so. That stuff is shared by all apps and while your system is not ideal, it certainly should work and not give this error. Depending on what is going on, only a full re-install of everything might fix it, though, unfortunate as it may be. So make friends with the CS3 and CS4 Clean Scripts from the support pages, set aside a good afternoon and take some deep breaths...
