I have this too, with ML 10.8.2 - pretty sure you can't install custom drivers. Did you find a solution?
EDIT: Didn't realise I had to update the CUDA drivers manually on OS X! Downloaded from here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda-mac-driver.html and all is OK

When will After Effects CS6 get a retina update?

I know there are people saying that After Effects works "fine" with retina, but they must not be as picky as me. After Effects is not at all fully compatible, at all. It's not even usable for me. The content viewer does not support retina resolution and is stretched to roughly twice the size that it should be. It's using Apple's percieved resolution and not actual resolution.
This makes the program completely unusable for me as it doesn't accurately represent what is being rendered.
When where there be a fix for this canvas problem?

I hate to throw water on your fire but AE is accurately displaying what would be seen for it's interpolated screen resolution with a retina display even with custom views, Photoshop, on the other hand, is showing you Actual Pixels so the image seems to be 1/2 the size as it would be displayed on a Retina display. I'd rather they fix Photoshop because it's way too hard to make pixel critical judgements in Photoshop at 100% scale than it is in AE on a Retina display.
I'd rather see how it would look on the display than the actual pixels because the pixel density is so high on a retina display that it's nearly impossible, without a magnifying glass, to see if you have artifacts in the edges. The image size of an element in your Comp on a retina display will be the same size as it is on a non retina display computer with the same apparent resolution. IOW a HD comp at 50% on a 15" Dell laptop will be the same size as a HD comp at 50% on a 15" MacBook Pro R.
This is why some web graphics look soft on a Retina display, They are scaled up approximately 200% when the website is not properly styled for high resolution displays.
The same things goes for movies played on a Retina displaya. You're not seeing actual pixels, you're seeing a denser pixel pattern which does give you a slightly better image. That's all I'm going to say about it.

CC will not allow After Effects CS6 to Update

I am a frequent After Effects CS6 user; not so long ago I started a subsciption with Adobe Creative Cloud and I've had nothing but issues with it.
The CC desktop would crash my whole system on launch, so I cancelled my subsciption and uninstalled anything related to CC cause I saw no real benefit.
But the CC apps remained on the system no matter what I tried to remove them.
Now my Premiere Pro CS6 is unable to open, and After Effects CS6 is unable to update.

I used that link already. I believe my old cc subscription is blocking. It states 'updates have been suppressed by the administrator'. After effects crashing after ram previewing. CC was removed after it crashed my desktop a few months ago. I have CS5 & cs6 which I paid for installed but I cant get into premiere pro because cc hijacks it. Cc was removed uninstalled because My system desktop wouldnt load so I discontinued my subscriptupm but it has interferred with my ability to use tge CS6 programs!
I have not been able to get any support and now I cant even edit a 2 minute short film which is due tomorrow.

Latest Version of After Effects CS6?

This may be a stupid question (is there such a thing?) but ...
As a CC subscriber, I currently have installed After Effects v. 11.0.0.378. Adobe Application Manager simply shows that AE is "installed." But I see at

that there is a newer version of AE: v. 11.0.2.
My question is two-fold:
(1) Why doesn't the Adobe App Manager notify me of an AE update?
(2) Should I update my CC version of AE manually to 11.0.2? Or will this mess up my Creative Cloud AE subscription somehow?

Could you please Launch AE and click on Help>Update. It will launch AAM in updater more and provide you all available updates.

Trouble installing After Effects cs6 on my new Yosemite system.

I then attempted to install all the software from my old computer. Installed Entire cs6 suite, after effects is greyed out.
When i tried to open, i received an error " You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X. You have “Adobe After Effects CS6” 11.0. "
I then read online that there was fix by updating to After Effects to 11.4. Due to the fact that i cant open program to update from within i downloaded update and tried to install via the installer. I acts like it it will start even giving a timeline of how long it will take then closes and says update failed.
It then says you can look at error log, when i do it says " Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.4) update Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M2P28 ".
Anyone knows how i can fix this issue and get after effects working? Thanks in advance

There have been a few people having problems getting updates and a few different solutions. It all depends on what's messed up on your machine.
It could be as simple as fixing permissions: fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications
Somewhat advanced, but it worked for somebody: Unable to upgrade to 11.0.1 for AE CS6
You may have to defeat a daemon... Newly installed After Effects CS6 won't launch.
One solution for a different OS and AE version, but might solve it: Mavericks and AE 12.0/12.1/12.2

Thank you so much, Mr. Curtis! I'm not sure exactly how that worked, but it allowed me to get back on both AE and Premiere Pro. 10 points to you!
Also, for the other people that may have similar problems and are viewing this forum, definitely try this out. Listen to Jim's advice, don't use the most recent version (which is currectly 5.5.47) - instead try a slightly older one. The one I had installed was version 5.5.24.

Error 101: After Effects Cs6 Trial (Not enough available disk space)

This is the error that I get when I attempt to download After Effects trial. There is over 500 Gb of free space on my computer. Photoshop and Dreamweaver trials downloaded fine, and nomatter howmany times I try to redownload After Effects it still will not work. I've tried uninstalling the photoshop and Dreamweaver trials, I've moved the destination folder for the download in many different files (ie: C, Desktop, Users ect.) nothing works.
Please Help.

I even tried the direct download and it has the same error nomatter what folder I try.
any other advice?

I was just downloading and installing the latest updates on both my windows workstation and my Apple MBP. Everything went fine on the windows machine but I keep getting the following error when my MBP attempts to update After Effects CS6:
Update Failed
The download appears corrupted. Please try again after a few minutes.

I am running the latest version of Yosemite (10.10.2). Is there some half downloaded file I can delete to make this work? I've waited. I've rebooted. I'm VERY reluctant to delete my current installation of CS6 if this is what is required. I'm an instructor at a local community college. The college currently only runs CS6. I teach an animation class that uses After Effects and as such I need CS6 working on my MBP. If this update is non critical I'll just let it ride. Oh, yea and I also keep AE CC and AE CC 2014 for no other reason than I can take a students CC 2014 file all the way back to CS6 so they can work in class. I'm guessing I'll need to add CC 2015 or what ever they call it so I will have 4 installations of AE just to do file conversions..... but that is another thread.
Any help on the current install issue would be appreciated

What update is it? What current version of CS6 do you have?

You're referring to the CC version, which will be released June 17th. On the 17th it should appear as an pad ate. Hope that helps.

How can I update After Effects CS6 to work with Mavericks?

I bought CS6 in September and now I have updated to Mavericks on my Mac. It says it won't run on Mavericks? Is there a new download? I don't want to move to Creative Cloud, I just want to keep my purchased version.

After effects cs6 isn't showing as an available app in Creative Cloud

can anyone answer why this isn't available on my list of products in my creative suite, which I pay an annual fee for. No version of Ae is showing. I can download the cloud version via the internet while logged in, but I want cs6 as it's what I use at school.

Adobe After Effects CC is part of CC and so you will see only this, not the cs6 products, in your CC Apps. After effects cs6 - which you have installed - you only will find in your Adobe directory. I'm using windows and so I can use it by clicking into my start menu or - if necessary - into a desktop shortcut link.

I am having the same problem as the user who originally posted.
(I am not the insulting poster, by the way)
Specifically:
- my current version of After Effects CS5 is 10.0.0.458. This was purchased as a retail DVD as part of the Production Premium Suite.
- when I run Adobe Updater from the program it says everything is up to date.
- I downloaded the dmg file directly from Adobe (AfterEffectsRetail-10.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg)
- when I run the file off the disk image, it again launches Adobe Application Manager and give me the error message "Update is not applicable."
So I can find no way to install this update.
I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6 on a 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Thank you for your help. I am having the aiff audio bug that others have experienced and documented and would like to be able to install this upgrade.
