After effects cs6 explosion help

Hi ,
I am trying to create a boat explosion in front of two people for which i have shot the boat scene(without people) and two people converstaion seperately. Then I have created the exoplosion in after effects. Now I need to join these two videos and make the explosion appear in front of those people. What best can i do to achieve this. I have tried rotobrushing the people scene, but takes too long and leaves me with rouch edges.
I hope my question is clear. Please suggest me to get what i want ?

if you want the explosion to appear to be between the people and the boat then you need them on different layers. It sounds like you starting down that path but your production planning and execution was lacking.
Rotobrush or rotoscope by hand is probably your only option unless there is some way to generate a procedural matte or color key all or most of the shot with the people in the scene. A screenshot or sample frame from the shot of the people would give us an idea of the easiest way to create the matte.
Here are some resources on rotoscoping by hand. Scott Squires has the best explanation of the technique ever. Be sure and also watch part 2 of Scott's tutorial. Here's my short and quick explanation of a very workable solution.
There are lots of resources for Rotobrush, which can do an amazing job in skilled hands on the right kind of footage. Just type Rotobrush in the Search Help field at the top right corner of the After Effects project window and check out those tuturials.

i am trying to install from adobe
i have windows vista 64-bit with 4GB RAM .
I installed it before on my com it works, but after i format my computer and want to install it back it shows this kind of message
i have installed premiere pro, flash, photoshop all in cs5.5

Adobe After Effects Cs6 Installation Error. HELP!

When i do my installation of Adobe After effects cs6, i install as trial version, because i want to see what it is like, and i do everything like everyone says, and then it stops at 2 percent saying Installation Failed and it comes up with these solutions, and i did them all about 5 times and it STILL wont work! SOMEBODY HELP!
And it also saidthis in the error summary:

I downloaded the After Effects CS6 trial, but when I tried to run the patch installer, it told me to download adobe app manager. I did so, but when I try and run the patch installer again, it says in app manager that "Update failed. Update could not be applied." Please, I have really important work that I need to do, and I just cant get this thing to work. PLEASE HELP

it says I need to update, but when I click on updates within aam, it just says "you're good! No new updates" Is there somewhere specific I need to go to update? Because the only options I have are all & Updates :/

Cannot launch After Effects CS6 or CC HELP!!!

When i try to launch CS6 I get this message:

My Creative Cloud desktop App Home page says

when i click on it, it goes to my Apps page that shows that i have 30 Apps, all Up to date
I have recently updated to Mac OS 10.9 and I saw that there's a patch on this page:

but when i tried to install it the message reads:
Update Failed
Updates could not be applied

All other Adobe applications seem to be OK though Premiere CS6 is terribly unstable - crashes A LOT.

After Effects requires a 64 bit processor and 64 bit operating system.
If you cannot see After Effects in the AAM then your computer does not meet the system requirements required to run the software.
Most likely you are running a 32 bit version of Windows. If that's the case, you will not be able to download, install or run After Effects.
The solution is to get a 64 bit computer running a 64 bit version of Windows.

Need help with Motion Tracking-button in After Effects CS6

After Effects CS6 is Missing OPEN GL plugin PLEASE HELP

Help with   After Effects CS6-

I did something to piss off after effects -    not sure what I did exactly I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )
I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
   Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message - something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects , - and then it listed a preset ( blur)
and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
what should I do? I cant opn my AE   (after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that?   can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?     will adobe make me download the newer CC version?   I dont want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6
Can someone advise me what the next step would be?

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and reinstall. Also learn to name your files sensibly - using $ in a file name may simply be interpreted as a variable by the operating system.

HELP! After Effects CS6 "Background Color" Rendering Problem!

Of all my years of using Adobe After Effects, I have never encountered this problem before. First of all, this is what it looks like when I'm normally editing in my composition.

But while it's rendering, I just get a red screen.

After Effects CS6 - Very slow workflow

Hi everyone, my first writing in adobe forums. I've contacted 3 adobe support agents, but I didn't get much help from them. Recently I switched from PC to Mac Pro, having Adobe Production Premium 5.5 for Windows and now upgraded to Adobe Production Premium 6.
First I tried a trial of After Effects CC and I was surprised how slow it is. Now I'm using AE CS6 full version and it's a bit better, but still pretty dang slow. (The video I made for adobe support explaining the problem is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jsZZpH0vYU )
To try to cut long story short. In the video adove, I've created couple of text layers and couple of shape layers. Made them 3D. Added a camera too. When I move the camera, everything is refreshing extremly slow. It's like you're having 100 3D layers and very busy scene,
and actually it's few most simplest 3D layers. The agents from adobe support told me to switch to half rez, or draft mode etc. But the problem is, I do not want to work in half rey, draft mode or something similar, with my configuration it should work pretty normal. Never
had these kind of problems in AE CS5.5. I tried everything, updated the software, updated my Mac OS, disabled global cache, even disabled multiprocessing etc. Btw, rendering is okay.
Is this the way CS6 is made? Is it supposed to be slow? Because, literally I got an answer from the agent that AECS6 is designed like that, in other words, to be slow
I really have no idea anymore how to make this work. I would like to get back to my lovely 5.5, but I only have license for Windows. If you guys could help me, I would really appriciate that.

You'll have to get used to creating Ram Previews and using AE's interface in the right way. You should really go through the getting started materials on the home page and take a look at the FAQ. AE is a layer based pixel calculating beast that will do a lot more to a movie at 60 frames per second than Photoshop will do on to a still image. After Effects is essentially Photoshop for movies with a lot more options.
If you want to smoothly drag through the timeline and playback multiple cuts with simple transitions and two or three layers then use Premiere Pro. If you need to use 20 layers and 60 effects to create a stunning composite or motion graphics effect then you're stuck with rendering at just about any price point.

Your problem is that the program wants a good video card and a fast hard drive and lots of memory and you have none of the above. If you upgraded the RAM to 8 gigs and installed a solid state hard drive you might make the program useable but the real bottleneck is going to be the Intel HD graphics, which cannot be upgraded.
You do have an open slot to add one 4 gig memory module. This is an easy relatively inexpensive upgrade. See here:

I would try this a step at a time. Next would be the solid state drive. That would cost maybe $150. Post back if you need more help.

WIthout proper system information and other details nobody can tell you anything. The unusual install location alone could be problematic...
