I 've jost got "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <2160> <ae.blitpipe> <2> rect t:0.000000 I:0.0000000 w:1374.00000 h:533.00000
This was rendering a 4K video (4096x2304) with H264 compression. I think I had around a GB of free virtual memory. Is it just that it needs more memory - do I just need to increase the virutal memory - would increasing it by a GB or so fix it? It's currently 3616 MB.
Current PC:
After Effects CS4
Windows Vista
4 GB RAM
3616 MB page file (according to performance options).

No. Not at all. The error is prety clear, actually:
w:1374.00000 h:533.00000
These are not valid dimensions for any MPEG-based output, since they need to be multiples of 2,4,8,16 and so on. Now I'm sure you set up the actual render correctly, but that info is coming from somewhere, so check if not a specific plug-in is causing this or your source footage may be damaged...

Has After Effects worked before? If it's worked before, what changed between then and now? Have you installed something or updated something?
What is the exact version number of your After Effects? And before you say, "CS6", I mean the exact version number, such as 11.0.4
What are the specs of your machine?
And any other information you think might be useful to know.

I just installed After Effects though Creative Cloud, and I am getting the above error message. The Logo/Start Up screen for AE comes up, then the error displays. Any tips for getting this to work properly? It will be greatly appreciated!

I always get this error when starting up AE just right when the flash screen appears. AE then crashes. Any help appreciated.

Do other Adobe apps like Photoshop run and actually recognize your graphics card with all the features? Is there any specific screen setup? I get the nasty feeling that AE is trying to draw its program window into a non-existing screen area, which may depend on this. The crash happens pretty late in the launch process when other critical stuff like MediaCore usually already through and only the UI needs to be initialized. Definitely double-check your graphics config. Beyond that I can't really see much. the system should definitely handle AE without issues...

After Effects CS6 Crash In Progress. Last logged message

Ok, so recently every time i try and start up After Effects CS6 it says After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <36560> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 0. Please help! I already uninstalled and re in stalled and im getting the same error, please help :/

   I made up a bat file with 8 commands like" afterfx -m -r ...." .
   It will startup 8 AEs and render my work. But when I double the commands with starting 16 AEs,7-8 of them are carshed,says "crash occurred while invoking   effect plug-in"scripting" .

Good question, but I would suspect that the previous instances simply never correctly unload and/or parts of the auxiliary services like dynamiclinkmanager or qt32server remain active/ loaded, ultimately causing a conflicht or simpyl chewing up all your memory...
