After Effects Playback 27 fps (Real Time) Audio is Slow

Hello,
I have Adobe After Effects CS 5 running on an HP Z600  8 core workstation (12 GB RAM) on Windows 7.
When I import any video AVI, MOV, etc and I preview with RAM the audio plays slow and it reports fps: 27 (real time)
When I link comps from premier I think it is causing lip sync issues.
My co-worker has the identical computer and when importing the same video, his reports fps: 29.97 (real time) and audio play fine.
I have looked around for settings that may affect this but nothing seems to help.
Multi-threading? Open GL issue?
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Greg

  • I have problem with playback in real time

playback in real time is  slowly, i have BlackMagic duo decklnik card
what is the problem should i have to change the settings on the project?
My english isn't good, hope you will understand me.
    Thank You.

That doesn't really say much - what is the FORMAT of the media?  Look at the Item Properties.  Posting a screen shot of the Item Properties would help.  Do the same with the Sequence Settings.
    >how can i change FCP's RT settings to Dynamic.
Use the drop-down RT menu near the upper left-hand corner of the Timeline.
Also please answer the other questions:
    Where is the media stored?
How is that hard drive connected to your Mac?
How much available free space on each hard drive (percentage)?  Please list free space individually for each hard drive.

  • Real-Time Audio Spectrum in FCPro?

Is it possible to do a real-time audio spectrum analysis (i.e., some sort of audio frequency histogram) in Final Cut Pro 4.5? I have some interview audio that has some high-frequency noise, and I'd like to easily be able to tell where in the spectrum it's happening.
    Thanks.

True, but the process of exporting the appropriate audio clip to another app, finding the offending portion, then coming back into FCPro to filter it out seems like a lot of work considering that FCPro does have a lot of other audio functionality--and a video spectrometer--built-in. It would be really great if FCPro did this!

  • How to Create an Epic Rap Battle of History in After Effects (Compositing, VFX, Green Screen, Audio), or Fix Audio, Speed, and Real Time Problems

Hello. As a film project, I am creating an "Epic Rap Battle of History", a parody video of a popular series on YouTube. In my film/video, I would like to use compositing so that there will be two of one character in one shot. I have used Premiere Pro CC for the main character sequences, but when I imported this project in After Effects, there was no audio at all from the song, and the canvas displaying the composition was moving very slowly, at about 50% of the video's actual speed. Also, in the top right corner, it says, "Not Real Time", and displays something like 7.39/29.96. I have looked at different web pages, and nothing seems to work.
I would appreciate it if someone could explain how to fix this all up for me, or especially if someone who has had experience creating an Epic Rap Battle could actually list a step-by-step process on how to create one.
If this helps, I am a beginner to Adobe, and work on a iMac tower. Thank you for your feedback.

  • After Effects Comp fps settings

    Hi,
I have shot some 240 fps footage and When I import it ot After Effects, I have notices that the fastest the Comp can use is 99 fps which makes the footage render our at 2.5 times slower than realtime.
Is there a solution to this as I would like some o fthe footage ot be real time and then some at slow speed.
Are there any plans for future releases to allow users to increase the fps settings of the Comp from the max of 99 fps?
It would make editing much easier.

    Some food for thought:
    http://myleniumblog.com/2013/01/20/decapitated-cap/
Based on that, you will realize that "realtime" is a rather relative term. Even if AE was able to play each discrete frame exactly timed, your computer screen might still be set at 60 fps or something like that and you never would see certain frames. Therefore you can pretty much achieve what you want just using a 60 fps comp or similar. The only caveat is that in order to determine the sampling interval you will have to re-interpret your footage similarly so AE actually shows you each frame and then use time-remapping/ stretching with equal multiples to get it back to full "240 fps". Or in simpler words: Interpret your footage as 60fps, set your comp to 60fps and do a little math in your head for the time-remapping stuff. And since obviously this might get tiresome after a while, file a feature request:

  • Why after effects renders me with bad audio?

I rendered almost six times and the result of these renders is that audio takes me wrong, when I play it in Windows media audio don´t reproduce, and I reproduced a file alternative to this and reproduced it excellent, the worst is that when I play in VLC or Media Player the audio is ok, that's not the main problem, because for me it would reproduce any of the programs that it works, but I need to make this video with less size or weight and when I make this process finally the audio it´s completely damaged. This has never happened before. Please help me.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying. Are you saying that when you render from After Effects the audio sounds bad but the audio file that was in your composition doesn't sound that bad when you play it in other applications?
You aren't telling us what your original audio file is like or what your render settings are in After Effects, so we do not have a lot of information that we might need.
Is the sound okay when you do a RAM preview in AE?
What is the file format of the audio file?
What settings are you using to render out of AE?
If your original audio is an MP3 file, try transcoding it to a WAV and using that in AE. Then render an uncompressed file out of AE and use the Adobe Media Encoder to do your final delivery file. That's the proper workflow anyway. AE should not be used to make your final compressed version.

  • Premiere-After Effects Dynamic Link render times vary wildly after minimal composition changes

Here is something strange that happens a lot to me.
I'll have a sequence in Premiere Pro CC 2014 that is entirely or largely an AE comp that I have dynamically linked.  I'll use a specific case as an example, but it's happened with various projects.
In this most recent one the visual (but not audio) of my Premiere sequence is one AE dynamically linked comp of about 90 seconds.  It's more or less a fancy slide show- some photos with moves, some text, motion blur, masking, maybe a few filters.  Fairly basic stuff as far as After Effects goes.
Anyhow, I like to render the sequence in Premiere and then watch it down with music to see if the timing works and make adjustments from there.  That's my usual workflow.  The strange thing is that when I render, the render times can vary tremendously.  With this particular project, one time rendered in about 2 minutes in Premiere.  I watched it down and I noticed a spelling error, which I fixed.  Just changing one word of text in AE.  This, of course, causes the entire linked comp to need to be rendered again in Premiere.  This time when I go to render, it took about 20 minutes and it only got about  70% of the way through.  A huge difference and all I changed was a couple letters, which shouldn't impact how intensive of a render is needed.  What I usually do is cancel the render when it takes that long, then quit Premiere, reopen, and render right away after I open.  When I do this, after the application restart, the sequence will then render in the faster approximately 2 minute duration.  Almost invariably this is true.
So I end up quitting and restarting Premiere a lot to get the faster render times.  But of course that's annoying.
    What is going on here?
I know that some might have critiques of the workflow and watching in Premiere and the fact that one letter change forces the entire sequence re-render.  I know I could break it up and there are ways around that.  But I am not interested in such critiques.  My work flow actually is quite efficient when the 2 minute render time happens.  Just not when it takes 10x more than that for the same thing.  Why are there these huge render time swings?
My guess is that some cache gets filled up, so when the application is just started, and the cache is empty, the render works much better.  But I really do not know.
    Help please.

There is currently a bug that causes Dynamic Link performance to be poor when the main After Effects application is running. (The underlying issue is that the main After Effects application is sending many more messages during Dynamic Link than it needs to.)
The easy workaround is to quit the main After Effects application when using Premiere Pro to process a dynamically linked After Effects composition.
This bug is fixed in an update due to be released in less than two weeks.

  • After Effects 50 fps footage

    Hello,
So I am SUPER new to anything After Effects but I am getting the hang of it, so if I don't know what your talking about just bare with me. Alright, so I shot some footage the other day on a Canon d3500 DSLR. I did not know that they shot on a higher frame rate, 50 fps. Now I am After Effects and I added some VFX to one clip and I am trying to render it out but everything I use either gives me the "Mismatched Settings" triangle/exclamation symbol at the bottom, no video and just the audio, or the video is slo-mo and the audio doesn't sync up because it's going normal speed. So what's the deal, what am I doing wrong. I checked all the settings and everything appears to be correct (again I have no clue what I am changing, I've been reading a lot about this in the last 24hrs but that's about it). All the settings say 50 fps and I assume that's what I want is for the settings to match my camera that I shot it on? Any way, any help would be greatly appreciated. I will add the details of my movie file in here just in case that helps. Cheers!

  • Adobe Director 11.5 - Real-Time Audio Manipulation?

    Hi all,
Firstly, I'm enrolled in a Multimedia Design course in College, and our College is using Director 11.5, hence why I need advice specifically on the older version, not the current one.
Our assignment for one of the courses is to author an interactive visual dictionary - using Director 11.5 - on a topic of our choice. In my group's case, it was the workings of a soundboard.
In an attempt to really increase the level of interactivity and make a superb addition to future portfolios - as well as showing off - we want to include an interactive 'soundboard simulation' which users can play with. There will be three separate audio inputs that play continuously, and 5 dials to increase or decrease certain effects. Those dials/effects are:
EQ - Hi (High Pass Filter)
EQ - Lo (Low Pass Filter)
    FX - (Reverb or Echo)
    Pan - (Left to Right)
    Level - (Volume)
The idea is that as the user adjusts the dials, the audio is effected in real-time with a multitude of possible effects being applied. Is this remotely possible with Director? As far as coding in Director, I'm still a relative novice, but I have a good head for code and a lot of the principles are the same as in Javascript (which I'm also learning and I must say, pretty good at), it's just the syntax itself which may prove troublesome to wrap my head around at times.
But for now I'm just asking if this is even possible. At our current level of Director proficiency, we're sort of shooting for the moon, but I don't see anything wrong with that!
The only page I've found listing various audio filters and parameters in Director is this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Director/11.5/UsingScripting/WSCB4744EA-6E6E-4b85-A946-E2C6E3A 4450D.html
However, I'm not certain that those can effect audio real-time (even just an 'onMouseUp' effect would be fine, but we'd much prefer it be truly real-time).
Any advice, hints, tips, tricks, or directions would be very much appreciated!

    Any thoughts or ideas?

So I haven't installed any third-party plug-ins for After Effects, since I have never gotten it to open since downloading it. Is that what you're talking about? I have the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite and none of them have any plugins except for Photoshop which has a few additional brush sets added.
I also have my firewall and antivirus turned off and I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it. But After Effects still doesn't work.
The only thing I am thinking is my computer has a i7 core, so it has an integrated video card. But then on top of that I have a GeForce GT 540M video card. I've tried checking the BIOS of my computer and it seems like it only uses the GeForce GT 540M as the video card. But maybe that integrated video card could still be giving me a problem?
This could also be a useful tidbit. About a year ago I had tried installing Photoshop CS5 64 bit and it kept not working, so I installed the 32 bit and it worked perfectly. To make matters more confusing though, I have the Fireworks CS6 64-bit version on my computer and it works perfectly. So it could be that certain 64-bit programs have an issue.
Any other info that I can provide that would hep? Thanks so much everyone!

  • Why is Dynamic Link between Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014 not syncing audio changes?

When I try to use a Dyamic Link between something I've cut in Premiere and a composition in After Effects, if it is simply an audio level change it will not update in AE.  Only if I alter the Video track does it then take the changes reflected.  Any suggestions as to what is causing this?
Running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014.

As Dave alludes, AfterEffects is all about the visual changes ... or at least, mostly. For changes to the audio outside of PrPro's internal controls, highly suggested you use Audition instead. It is all about the sound ... and yes, will update PrPro when used correctly.

  • After Effects CC 2014 not scrubbing audio

Hey, I'm using After Effects CC 2014, and none of the usual shortcuts are scrubbing audio (I've tried command-drag, ctrl-drag, and alt-drag). I'm not sure where the problem is. Is there something new I'm not aware of or some kind of preview setting that I need to adjust?
Edit: When I scrub the audio, the volume levels change in the audio panel, but no sound is produced. When I do a RAM preview, the sound is there.

I have 13.1.1.3, I'm running OS 10.9.5, and which system specs would be relevant? Just the hardware overview?
