After Effects Student Discount?

Hi I was looking at all the student discounts adobe offers, but when I looked for an after effects discount I didn't see one. I only saw a discount for the photography package which I am not interested in. Is there a student discount for just after effects and I am just missing something, or is there no discount?

Sorry, if you are a student, there is only pricing for the Photography package or the entire Creative Cloud.

To save time I want to be able to render animations on my server but still be able to work in after effects on my desktop. Is this possible. I currently own a copy of the CS6 Production Premium (Student Edition) with AE Being the main software in my arsenal.

  • How to buy after effects CS6 individually as a student

    Dear forum members,
    I'm a student advertisement design and I often need to make videos I find easiest to do with After Effects.
    At first, when I had to make a video, I used the trial version. But now I have to make a new video for my portfolio and I need After effects CS6 but I can't find it individually without having to buy the whole package of Creative Cloud or as a Individual (but that is to costy as I don't have so much money since I'm still studying).
    I've heard it's no longer possible to buy it separately, but is there absolutely another way?
    I've already bought A Creative Suites package for students in my first year, when I heard about the Creative Cloud version when I was in my second year. Now I'm in my third so for the 2 year I have left, I don't feel like buying the whole package of Creative Cloud, just for After Effects. Is there a way I can get it - legally - at a student discount as an individual program? I don't want to feel like I've wasted my money by buying Creative Suite 6 at first, when I could have had everything at the price of the Creative Cloud only.

    the cc version is on your desktop, but you can't use it in perpertuity.  you pay a monthly or yearly fee for the latest adobe programs.

    They require a 64 bit computer and a 64 bit operating system.

    I need only After Effects for class, but I don't want to buy a whole CC membership just to get one program.     Or US$999 for the non-Student version of After Effects CS6 alone

    Both those options are expensive compared to the Cloud options and give you only outdated - 3 year old - software.

    It's not that bad, actually. You don't really want to edit with After Effects. After Effects is not made for editing. It is made for adding visual effects, creating motion graphics, and doing compositing. Premiere is the program you want to edit.
    Most people shoot their movie, edit in Premiere, then do their visual effects in After Effects, then use the Adobe Media Encoder to make the final file.
