Hallo zusammen,
ich habe ein Problem mit After Effects. Jedesmal wenn ich meine After Effects CC öffne bekomme ich eine Fehlermeldung " After Effects warning: Can´t write to font cache directory."  Ich habe bereits ein update installiert aber es hat das Problem nicht behoben. After Effects CS6 läuft ohne Prbleme. Weiß jemand an was das liegen könnte?

  • After Effects - Warning: failed to write xmp metadata

I have a couple of users who are saving a render job to a network share using After Effects. Towards the end of the render, they get a warning saying "failed to write xmp metadata" It does not ruin the render or anything. It just shows the warning. They have full access rights to the share. What is causing this error?

They are successfully able to render to their local hard drive without any error and the error is only occuring with wmv output but not avi. Where exactly are the settings for XMP so that it can be configured properly?
But since they can render to the local hard drive without any errors there must be something that AE doesnt like about rendering to a share. What could that be?

  • "After Effects Warning: Unable to create font." in CC12.1

I just updated AE to 12.1, and now no fonts work in it.  I originally got the error "Unable to load font "^0" "Helvetica Neue," but got that one resolved only to get "After Effects Warning: Unable to create font."  This happens for any area of a comp that has text.  No video will display at all where I have text.
The fonts are activated.  I did find that some of them had somehow turned off since yesterday.  I'm using FontExplorer X for font management.
They worked just fine yesterday in 12.0.  Frustration factor high on this one.

  • "After Effects warning: Unable to load font "^0" "Helvetica Neue"

Today in attempting to run After Effects CC, I get the above error. -- Helvetica Neue IS installed on my system.
After I click OK to the first error dialog, a seconf dialog comes up:
"Cannot load font required for the After Effects Interface. Please replace the font or reinstall After Effects." -- Then a third dialog comes up: "After Effects can't continue: unexpected failure during application startup" -- Where do I get this mystery font? Or alternatively, HOW do I "reinstall After Effects?"
    Thanks for any help.

Apparently I had to sign out then sign back in, via another CC app.
Now I'm reinstalling After Effects CC.
Why doesn't Application Manager check to see what apps are installed on load? -- That's the most basic form of app management, isn't it?

  • After Effects warning: Could not create the file '/Users/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/13.0/dummy

I have just downloaded the trial After Effects CC. I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on my Macbook Pro.
When I try to launch After Effects, this message appears:
"After Effects warning: Could not create the file '/Users/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/13.0/dummy'"
I have followed the advice from other posts on this issue regarding resetting all of the permissions in the Adobe folder in my library to read and write , but it doesn't change anything. I still get the same message when I try to launch the program. Moreover, there is no After Effects folder in my Adobe folder, even though it's clearly in my Applications folder.
I also uninstalled After Effects and tried to reinstall it, but to no avail.
I sure would like to give it a try, as I was planning on purchasing it, but this is just one more issue in a long irritating line of issues that have arisen since trying to download it from CC.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

I am having this problem and this response does not make sense. I made the "Preferences" ,"Adobe" & "After Effects" folder along with the 10.0,11.0,13.0,13.2 folders all read/write. Can't seem to find an answer.

    Hi,
I have had this problem also with CS6 and found a solution.  If I try to open a script UI panel with a project open, I get this message, but if I close the project and then launch the scripts, they write without hassle.  Then I re-open my project.  Hope that helps.

  • The application "Adobe After Effects CC" can't be opened."

    Hello,
I am running a new mac pro (10.9.2 osx) and I just installed After Effects CC. I keep getting the error:
The application “Adobe After Effects CC” can’t be opened. -10810
I also installed Illustrator, Lightroom and Photoshop and those seem to be working.
I tried changing permissions on all enclosed After Effects files and folders to read & write. No go...
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

That is a Mac OS error. See this page:
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/error-10810.html
Begin by restarting your computer and starting no applications other than After Effects.

  • After Effects warning: Error parsing properties list.

    Hi all,
I got this error message today when I got back to work from over the weekend. This is the first time I have seen this error and have had no real luck finding any good fix for it.
    this is the error message:
After Effects warning: Error parsing properties list.
I am running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002 Service Pack 2, with AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 250, 2.39GHz, 2.00 GB Ram
The error message pops up in a small box with the above message, I hit ok to close the box and nothing happens and I double click AE again to open it and it opens with just the top navagation bar and the rest of the window is grey. It does not open completely and If I click anything it crashes. Giving me a message about it can't continue and to contact adobe support for know issues.
Has anyone had this problem and if so whats the best fix?????
    THANKS so Much in advance!
    David

Start by quitting After Effects and clearing the entire preferences folder. I.e., delete the entire   /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.2/   folder when After Effects is not running.

  • After Effects warning: Couldn't open Quicktime video output component????

    Hello,
I was wondering why this warning is coming up every time I open After Effects-
(After Effects warning: Couldn't open Quicktime video output component.)
It also reappears every time I go to a different program then back into After Effects.
    I am currently on a-
    MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.5
2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    After Effects CS3
    Quicktime 7.5.5
    GeForce 8600M GT
2 external storage drives (Western Digital, Lacie)
    Matrox MX02
I just upgraded quicktime and this started appearing.
    ANY IDEAS.

    Sorry,
Here;s another. I have Quicktime Pro installed. I have CS3 installed. I also have AE v7 which runs a few plugins I am still thinking work in v7. CS3 runs OK but in version 7 it gives me the "Couldn't open Quicktime Video Output Component " notice. I had a client working in v7 so I tried to work in v7, it was a bad idea. I lost days of work and finally just went to CS3 to get the job done but couldn't use one anothers files between versions.
What can I do to get the AE v7 Couldn't open Quicktime video output component fixed. Make it simple if you can... I'm an artist.
    Thanks

  • Error code 6 & media offline & after effect warning errors.

Increasingly I am getting the attached error messages when I try to open files. (mostly .psd and .ind files)
1.) It often says I don’t have permission to open the file, it is not the right type of file, or the file doesn’t exist... none of which are true.
The files always work if I copy them locally and open them from my harddrive.
    2.) "media offline" error.
    3.) after effects warning error.
    Help needed. Thx.

    Hi Saif,
You might get several issues, if you are directly opening files from the server or a network location, to your machine and editing them. You might also get issue while saving then to the server. I think your issue is one of them.
This is because, several thing comes into picture while you are opening, editing, saving files over the network. You may face some network issues, firewall issues and mostly permissions issues.
So, adobe always recommends to save the file locally on the machine first and then perform editting and saving operations. once you are done, you can copy it to the network.
Check the below article just for reference.

  • After Effects warning: 'Workspace.xml' Rename Error

I've already done a full uninstall and re-install. I am unable to open after effects, and this is the error I keep getting: After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/Home/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/10.0/Workspaces.9932.1407353177382401.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'.
After clicking twice, I'm given this error message:
After Effects can’t continue: unexpected failure during application startup
And then After Effects shuts down. Any thoughts?

    amb2235 wrote:
Thanks. Oddly enough, this is what did it.
That's because it was a permissions issue as Todd said. Something wasn't set right, but when AE has to recreate it, the permissions are set correctly. Screwy permissions happen all the time with Mac OSX upgrades.

And what if you simply trash the whole prefs folder/ move it out of the way? AE should happily re-create everything with factory defaults. realyl sounds like one of your workspace files is damaged, perhaps due to a crash.

  • After effects warning could not create the file

    Hi,
I am fairly new to After effects, (so new that I haven't managed to save a file). Can anyone help with this? I am running CS6 on an oldish mac pro, but flash and premiere run fine, and so does after effects, except it won't let me save, and instead comes up with this message: after effects warning could not create the file.
I have even tried saving a file with just a jpeg in it, and it still won't let me.
Any suggestions? I am a bit confused.

When you save in AE, you're saving the project file -- which inclues all your work in the comp -- but you can't save the comp itself to a media file.  It doesn't work that way.  You have to export or use the AE Render Queue.
I recommend spending some quality time here.
