After Effects wide screen

I am using After Effects CS3. Mostly for Graphical animation not using any video footage.
I set the comp to NTSC DV Widescreen and Pixel aspect ratio to D1/DV Widescreen (1.2)
But when I export the animation to Quicktime Animation Mellions+ Color setting the video comes out 4:3 and stretched from top and bottom !!!
It wasnt like this before!! This happened just recently.
What should do to export it as widescreen?

Ok here is what I found out after trying the Interpet Footage method in Premiere Pro CS3. When I do that it says use Pixel aspect ratio from file: D1/DV NTSC (0.9)
So that means even though I set up the After Effects file to the settings I mentioned before, it is not exporting it to that setting for some reason!!! I do not know why and how to fix this problem!!
When I do change the Interpret Footage settings in Premiere pro CS3 from the File D1/DV NTSC (0.9) to D1/DV NTSC Widescreen which is the setting I have for my After effects file, then the footage becomes too streched from the sides cause After effects has for some reason exported it as a 4:3 file not 16:9 which I had set it up as!!!
LOL wow. Try getting your head around that one !!! :)
Once again I thank U for your prompt responses!!!

As you can see the preview screen is VERY Blurry for me and I need help
Its apperently like this with everying 0_0

    Sorry, but that's totally incomprehensible.
After Effects has its own arcane terminology, and you're not using it.  You know what you mean, but no one else does.  It's like you're speaking English, but everyone who's listening speaks Swahili.  Nothing gets communicated.
I get the feeling you're a brand-new AE user, and you don't even know that you just can't jump into the deep end of the pool.  You can't fart around with the application and expect success.  All you'll get is frustration... like you're getting now.
Take the time.  Learn the basics.  Use that Getting Started link above.   Life will get better.  Really.

  • After Effects CS6 Screen Fluttering  HELP ME!!!!

    Hello Everyone,
Ok so I have seen a few threads about this with CS5.5 but nothing with CS6.  First here is my coomputer set up.
    AMD FX6100 3.3 chip
    Quadro 2000
    8 gig of ram
    MSI 870 motherboard
Creative cloud suite cs6 with newest updates
So here is the issue I had a GTX 550ti card worked great until it burnt up during a long render had to replace it.  Got a GTX 650 and my issue started. I was getting sudden screen fluttering and not responsive messages.  This would happen no matter what I was doing.  Found out the card was not certified and Adbose told me this was the issue. I then returned that card got a 560 SC card again same issue this time worse.  Once again told by adobe it was a card issue. So again returned the card.
This time I had already now made 4 trips back and fourtht o the store.  Sorry I almost forgot I even updated my power supply to a 750 watt bronze because Adobe told me maybe i didnt have enough power to drive my video card.
Ok so now I bought the Quadro 2000 card.  So this card is supposed to work flawless make things run great.  Well guess still having the exact same issue.  I have reinstalled after effects three times. I have done clean installs of the video cards and now Adobe support is telling me to get the card checked yet again??????  I bought the card two days ago been through three card including the mothboard graphics.
I dont care how great Adobe products are there is now way every card I am trying is bad and the software is great.  There has to be a setting i am missing or something.  Does anyone know a answer to this?????
    Help Me Please!!!

Yes I get screen flashing flickering.  During this process I get not responding Error.  Basically I open after effects.  WHen I move the mouse anyplace inside of after effects it happens. I hit new it freezes, I scrub and it goes crazy to the point I have to CTRL-Alt-DEL just to get my computer back.  Sometimes it causes my windows crash and have to be restarted.   This whole thing started right after I burnt up my 550TI.  I did a 4 hour render got a error 16 on my card call EVGA they told me it was fried. I replaced it first with a GTX 650 and that is when all of this started.  Since then I replaced the 650 with a 560 sc then a 570 and now I have a quadro 2000  not one of these cards stopped the issue.  The only cards i know that are certified were the 550ti the 570 and the quadro I have now.
I have installed the latest drivers I even had Adobe log in three times into my machine and each time they told me they would look itno the issue and call me back.  So now here I am 3 months later have yet to get one phone call back and everytime I call in or do the live chat i get told to replace the card.
SO my question is simple its not the cards because 5 cards could not all go bad in a row.
The only information I am finding on the web is that open gl needs to be turned off.  CS^ you cannot do that.
I have reset after effects back to default settings and turned off all GP rendering as well as interleaving and cache.  Still having the same issue.
If I plug my monitor into my onboard card all issues stop.   So I have figured out it has to do with having the monitor hooked up to the graphics cards.
The other thing I have tried to do just to verify my PCIe isnt bad is I borrowed a 550ti from a friend and again worked fine.  Now when I hooked up my orginal 550ti I did not change a single setting on my after effects.
When I got the 650 I ran the hack for the GPU and changed some of the settings until I found out that no one was able to use the 650 card.  Then I got the 560 and I wiped out after effects reinstalled fresh did not change any settings and same issue presented.
I then got the 570 and a 750 watt psu  figured ok this is certified should work.  Again no luck.  I returned that card got the quadro 2000 same issue.
I do not know if when I installed the new AE if it kept the hack and that is causing the issue or not.

  • Adobe after effects blue screen at "Intializing User Inferance"

Everytime i start up Adobe after effects cs4 i get a blue screen error at intializing user inferance. Can anyone help me with this? I have reinstalled after effects a couple times with no luck

Bluescreen = system problem, not AE. could be anything from a bad graphics card driver to some security stuff causing crashes. Provide exact details about your system hardware  and settings e.g. for screen resolution.

  • After effects slow screen updates

Hi, Ive got a lenovo yoga laptop (intel graphics card) and tried using After Effects and everything updates really slowly. For example, if I use the type tool and type something it takes minutes to update on the screen. This was happening with Photoshop, but after reading some forums there was a setting to disable open gl I think it was. After doing that everything was fine. But, After Effects doesn't seem to have the same options so was not too sure if there is a setting in there I can disable. Not sure if anyone has experienced this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • After Effects Black Screen

    Hello.
I have a problem with black screen. If i make a new project, and make a new composition and putting an effect (in this case audio spektrum), then the screen shows black. no effects working at all.
What can the problem be? i use the After Effects CC Trail Version. Using Mac OSX.
    Regards,
    Magnus Pilegaard

Some effects require other assets. Audio spectrum requires an audio layer and proper setup. Some effects don't start until some time has passed like radio waves or particle systems.
You should start here if you are just learning AE.

  • After Effects CS4 won't open?

I installed my After Effects and did everything properly and used it maybe once or twice until it started to not open at all.
Everytime I open it now the licence Agreement' comes up everytime and I have to press Accept, but when I do the After Effects loading screen comes up for maybe 2 seconds and then disappears with a sound and no message. Just doesn't wanna open.
Is there a reason for this?
Thanks for any help, its GREATLY appreciated!
    Mike

Hi there, I installed it as a full retail version.
It's worked fine upto maybe a week or two ago when all of a sudden it loads (the purple screen) and then nothing happens or comes up.
I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and its a 32-bit I believe.
    Here are my specs...
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061 (a830n)
    Bios: Version 08.00.10
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (2 CPU's with HT) at 3.20GHZ
    Memory: 2040MB RAM
    Direct X: Version 9.0c
250 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
Chip Type: Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
Like I said, it has worked fine upto a week or two ago when it just doesn't wanna come up.
I am thinking its more of a computer problem or something affecting the program...but again, I wouldn't know what.
I have uninstalled and re-installed it a few times and it does the same thing. It'll come up maybe once or twice and after that, nothing.
Like any information you can give would be so helpful!
    Thanks a lot.
    Mike

  • Screen get a little White-ish and Blue-ish due to After Effects.

I just downloaded the after effects cs6 from adobe, wanted to play around with it.
whenever I start the application as usual the application shows up their logo in a square shap and loads all the plugins etc.
while it loads and starts my screen gets white-ish and blue-ish.
it's only when I run after effects for the rest of the applications the screen is normal.
so far i can conclude that there is no problem in my display and it's only a problem when i run after effects cs6.
it never happened in after effects cs5 but happens in cs6 version.
    i am using late 2011 mbp. 2.4ghz amd radeon 6770m 1gb grahpics. intel i7.
    4gb ram. 10.8.2 osx

    HI @Skarsnik
    Thank you for your inquiry.
I grasp you have only had the notebook for 8 days. When you powered it on you got to the password screen but then it went to a black or blank display.  You did a restore back to 4 days ago and now you get a blue Screen instead of the black screen with the cursor.
I  would try a Refresh your PC to resolve problems Windows 8.
If you are unable to do the refresh here is a link to Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8) to take it back to factory.
If the issue should return I would recommend contacting HP support for assistance as it is  new .

  • PLEASE HELP!! Weird screen glitch in After Effects CS5.5?!? (Windows 7)

I was editing some videos in the trial of After Effects CS5.5, and I went to render something in full screen (I've been using it for two weeks now, and i've rendered in full screen before) and suddenly a bunch of error messages started popping up,and After Effects closed out. Now every time I open After Effects, its like the screen zooms in: I can't see my taskbar or my tools for after effects, or anything on the edges at all. Production Premiere and everything else works fine, but After Effects is always like this now. I've searched all the help centers, and google, and youtube, and I've found nothing. I also tried unistalling and reinstalling the Master Collection trial but it still came up in full screen.
PLEASE HELP I only have 12 days left on trial and I'm trying to finish one last video.

Try deleting your preferences. If that doesn't do it, Reboot, Use the Adobe Cleaner Tool, then re-install AE. If that doesn't work let us know. It's probably your preferences.

  • After Effects CS5.5 - Lion: Crash on splash screen EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT)

So one day, out of the blue, After Effects stops wanting to open. The worst part is, I can't think of any changes that would have caused this.
I am running After Effects CS5.5 (10.5.1) on my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2011), which is running Mac OSX Lion. Here is my system profile (with some sections omitted).
Just a few weeks ago, I began to consistently receive this message during the AE splash screen:
    After Effects Alert
Last log message was: <140735295236448> <ASL.ResourceUtils.GetLanguageIDFromRegistry> <0> Unable to obtain the User 'Language' registry key at: Software\Adobe\After Effects\10.5.1\ Defaulting to 'en_US'.
    Here is a crash log.
    Any ideas?
    First attempt
I figured maybe I had a bad preference file, so I cleared my prefs. Nothing changed aside from a modified error message:
    After Effects Alert
    Last log message was: <140735295236448> <DynamicLink> <5> 0x114ee8418
    And a crash log.
Also, if I try opening AE again, after I cleared my prefs and opened it once, the error message returns to the "registry key" alert.
    Second, third, fourth attempt
So I uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects about 3 times. No change. I used the latest download from Adobe, and the original Master Collection image: no difference.
    Fifth attempt
I created a second admin account to see if this was an isolated issue. It isn't; same problem.
    Sixth attempt
I thought about QuickTime, so I opened up System Prefs, and uninstalled Perian. I left the prefpane there though.
Also, I have the latest version of Java.
Seventh attempt (Added 19 March 2012)
I used the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to wipe out my entire Adobe installation. I still have the same problem after a reinstall. I'm going to try installing AE on my external drive next. This is really frustrating. Has anyone experienced this issue and found a resolution?
    Notes
Interestingly enough, all of the other Abobe CS5.5 apps I installed work fine:
    Bridge
    Photoshop
    Illustrator
    InDesign
    Premiere Pro
    OnLocation
    Extension Manager
    Added 1:54PM, 13 March 2012:
Also, opening up the render engine causes the same error message.

I just installed AE, have never used it, and am seeing it bail on startup with the same odd language registry key error. Please see my post on a related thread.
Any luck here? Would be nice to get AE to boot so I could evaluate it.

  • After Effects CC Crashing Immediately After Splash Screen?

Hey guys, installed cretive cloud recently with a full licence but most of the programs seem to crash straight away after the splash screen.  After Effects, Premier, Photoshop and Media Encoder all seem to do this.  Tried signing in, resigning in, uninstalling, using the adobe cleaner and re-install but still the same.  Any ideas why this might be   Thanks.
OS:     Windows 7 64bit Home Premium (all updates installed)
    CPU:   Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz
GPU:   NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 - GeForce 337.88 Driver
    RAM:  16 GB

If you don't have any pressing projects, you could try completely wiping everything off and then reinstalling.
    It's just so odd...
Perhaps Mylenium might have some ideas as he's more technically-minded than I.
If you don't get any more good suggestions here, contacting Adobe Support isn't a bad idea.

  • After Effects CS6 will no longer load past Splash Screen

Recently been using AE CS6 more frequently. Used it today for about 3-4 hours. Restarted my computer when it started to get slow to free up space from temp/cache files. Now AE does not load past the splash screen when I want to open it. Pauses for a while, then either I get a generic "program has stopped working/responding", or occasionally something else. I have allocated 26 mb of my RAM to Adobe use (only After Effects was open). Media cache files are set to 50 Gb. The program is installed on my 120 Gb SSD, which is out of space. However, all the reference files and media caches are set to go to my HDD, which has 1.5 TerraB's available. Photoshop opens fine and run fines still.
When attempting to open, Sometimes it mentions that the Dynamic Link had an error or was the last thing that was trying to load. Have restarted computer, no change. Please Help, have two projects going that need to be done very soon.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate, AE CS6 through the Master Suite. 32 Gb Ram, Intel i7 processor, EVGA GTX570 Graphic Card. There havent been any updates for anything in a few weeks that I'm aware of.
Really don't want to go through a re-installation...It was working just fine for months, then this.

Manually flushed, reinstalled graphics driver (was a slight update, a few sub sections), and all other drivers in DMan are good to go. Also uninstalled Quicktime and did a fresh install of that too. Still no good. The exact error message is this:
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <6032>
    <DynamicLink><5> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\CS6\dynamiclinkmanager.exe
Also, checked firewall settings - nothing shows up as blocked, although I could be not looking at it right. Running McAfee OAS.

You can reset the workspace to its default by deleting your preferences folder.

As I open After Effects, the purple loading screen appears and it appears to be loading. As it starts to say 'Cleaning Up', a warning message appears.
