After ERP Upgrade online backup slow down

Hello,
We have upgrade the system from 4.6c to ECC6.0 , after the upgrade backup is running slow on production. it could be because of Resource requirements for ECC. I would like to know how resource Consummation increase from 4.6c to ECC.
ECC 6.0
Solaris 5.10
Thanks

> I would like to know how resource Consummation increase from 4.6c to ECC.
Very difficult to impossible to state generally. 4.6c is an ABAP only kernel whereas the Netwaever 7.0 kernel has interfaces to HTTP and SMTP as well as a full internet transaction server integrated. As a rule of thumb one could say you'd need the double the CPU power (in sense of single CPU speed, not number of CPUs) to run at the same speed as your old 4.6c.

What's the output of
psrinfo -v
on your machine?

It still would have been nice to try the fan to make sure heat was not the issue but my second solution would be to update your bios and video driver. If you want me to find it for you, post the operating system and 32/64 bit?
If you are using window 7 64 bit:

  • Upgrade to Yosemite Slowed down computer substantially

    Hi All,
I recently upgraded my MBP (mid-2009) to Yosemite.    I noticed that people have been using EtreCheck to determine what is the root cause of these Yosemite upgrade slowdowns.   My issue is that I am having difficulty interpreting the output file.   Any help and recommendations would be appreciated.
    Here is the file:

  • After Mavericks upgrade, cannot backup to Time Machine to latest gen Time Capsule

I recently upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.  I use the latest generation 3TB Time Capsule and my Macbook is a 15-inch Early 2011 2.7Ghz i7 with 16GB RAM.  After the upgrade, Time Machine would initiate to the Time Capsule, but get stuck on "Preparing Backup...," but it would never backup.  I went to the Time Capsule, erased all earlier backups, and then initiated a new, fresh backup to the Time Capsule,  It took about 6 days to backup almost 700GB.  After that initial backup, it has never been able to backup again.  It attempts to initiate the backup, but continues to get stuck on "Preparing Backup..."  It will remain like this for days, and if I reboot, the same thing happens again.  My Time Machine Backups are encrypted.  Any ideas why Mavericks won't actually execute a Time Machine backup to a latest generation Time Capsule?

Have you had a look at this Link...

  • Time Machine backups slow down TC internet connection

I'm having a problem with my TC internet connection slowing down dramatically. When I connect my DSL modem directly to my Mini, it's fine. When I connect it to the TC there are big slow downs off and on. I'm wondering if the backups done by TM slow down the internet connection and the network as a whole.

Over ethernet no, it would have almost no effect.. over wireless yes.. it can have a big effect.
How big are the backups generally? These should only be incremental and relatively small.
Measure your actual speed of copying a file to the TC.. if you can put numbers to it, that will help. Use the Activity Monitor and see what is the average speed copying a file or when TM is backing up.
Any improvements to the wireless speed will reduce the time the backup runs and how much time your internet is slow. Wireless is highly range and signal dependent. You might find a network rearrangement where you use the TC close to the Mini can solve the issue.. especially if you can connect to it by ethernet.. and then wireless bridge if you need to.

  • ARFC Problem after ERP upgrade

    Hello,
We are having problems with ARFCs models after an ERP upgrade to 6.0. It seems that the ERP only receives half of the sent information in the fields. For example in a LIFNR typed field (10 chars) after setting up an external debug we see that the RFC only received the first 5 chars. The old system wasn't unicode and the new one is, I don't know if its related. Anyone had experienced this before?
    Best Regards,

    > I would like to know how resource Consummation increase from 4.6c to ECC.
Very difficult to impossible to state generally. 4.6c is an ABAP only kernel whereas the Netwaever 7.0 kernel has interfaces to HTTP and SMTP as well as a full internet transaction server integrated. As a rule of thumb one could say you'd need the double the CPU power (in sense of single CPU speed, not number of CPUs) to run at the same speed as your old 4.6c.

  • Time Machine backups slowing down after 25 days

I am experiencing a peculiar kind of behaviour from Time Machine under
Mountain Lion (10.8.2). In the multiple threads on Time Machine issues,
I could not find this exact problem described so I am wondering if
anyone else has seen the same thing or even has a solution.
Like for many others, the basic symptom is that Time Machine becomes
extremely slow. In my case this always happens about 25 days after the
last reboot. I am using a Mid 2010 27-inch IMAC and a Mid 2010 Mac Pro,
both connected to a Time Capsule via ethernet. Both are showing the
    same behaviour.
Originally I was letting Time Machine do its regular hourly backups,
this has now been changed to twice a day using TimeMachineEditor. The
change has made no difference, backups are still getting slow after
25 days. This is accompanied by kernel_task gradually ramping up
its CPU usage, from below a percent to several percent.
Here are the backupd entries from a "normal" backup:
This takes 3-4 min, which I find tolerable - although I
am always surprised by the rather large number of files that
are backed up even if the machine has remained idle:

I have now rebooted the machine, and things are back to normal.
In about 25 days, I fully expect that things will start to grind to
a halt again. On the MacPro, which has now been running for 16
days, things should be fine for another 9-10 days.

These are the messages from the first slow backup. This one was only marginally slower than a normal backup, but a sure sign that things were going awry nonetheless:

  • HP Laserjet p1102w - after firmware upgrade / Smart Install update - down to 1MB free memory

    Hello,
I have a Laserjet p1102w running off a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Just bought the printer this month.
After updating the firmware to 20120814 version and updating the SmartInstall update utility for the 20120814 version as well, I am now down to 1 MB free memory (out of 8MB originally). [Another LJ p1102w updated prior to these updates has 3MB free memory.]
Because I have 1MB free memory, the printer is almost a brick. It can print simple text based pages - however, printing any page with a graphic or a PDF file will cause the printer to take forever to receive data - essentially preventing printing a page on  my new printer (while printing the same page instantaneously on my older nonupdated p1102w).
Is there any way to fix this problem, given there is no memory upgrade option? Otherwise, this printer is a brick.
Thank you in advance for a reply - especially from HP.

    Hi cyskim,
Did you tried turning the printer off and on after updating the firmware? This should clear its memory, including any memory may affected during the firmware upgrade proccess .
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos thumb up in the post.

  • IPad 2 after recent Os changes has slowed down 70%. Any thoughts? This was NOT an issue before the recent Os change, so assume another apple screw up. But looking for a fix.

Since the Os update...certainly wasn't an upgrade....my iPad 2 has been slow on wifi. About 70% slower. Looking out there I only found ideas from May 2012, no help. This clearly is part of Apple's poor upgrade.
So question is...any fix other than selling off the iPad and getting a Samsung ?

"This clearly is part of Apple's poor upgrade."
At the risk of sounding unsympathetic (I am), what made you jump to the conclusion above? As you observed, reports of similar issues date to 2012. Since others (including me) have no similar problems, an analytical approach would suggest that the problem is limited to your iPad.
What measurement did you use to determine your 70% number? Do you have 3G? If so, is that faster?
You could reset the iPad (hold the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears).
There are other troubleshooting steps that might be taken that would be found elsewhere in these forums.

  • What's wrong with 10.4.7 upgrade?  (Serious Slow-down)

Attempting to install iLife, was forced to upgrade the OS.
    (A new iMac G5)
Ran "Updater" with the 150 mb upgrade.
Now the iMac runs slow as molasses... MUCH slower
    than before the upgrade.
I've fixed and verified the permissions twice.
How can I speed things up?

    Hi FNS,
first of all: WELCOME TO THE DISCUSSIONS!
What did you do exactly? What was your previous system version and how did you update (software update? standalone installer? incremental update? Combo update?).

  • After Lion upgrade old backups are visible but unaccessible

On two different machines with different type drives I upgraded from SL to Lion and everything went fine, except when I Enter Time Machine the backups prior to the upgrade are purple on the timeline and I can't access them. The files are there on the drive still but the UI will no longer allow me to restore form them.
As an aside, Time Machine is creating new backups just fine and I can restore ffrom them.
Since this happened on two separate machines with two different brands of external HD and both relatively new I would think this was more common.
    Any ideas?

I had this issue and FIGURED it out!
I had a MBP on SL with an Intel SSD. My hard drive was named "IntelSSD". I then purchased an AIR with Lion installed and used migration assistant. When turning on TM, it asked if I wanted to keep the old backups and I said Yes.
Well, just as the previous poster states, the change in HD name from "IntelSSD" to "Macintosh HD" causes TM to not related the two home directories as the same! Per the instructions, go to Finder where you see the HD and then enter Time Machine. From there you can go back and see your old HD name and drill in to find your files.
For Reference from the link above:
If you want to see the backups for such a disk or partition, either select your Computer name in the Finder sidebar, or quit Time Machine, press Shift+Cmd+C to show your computer, and re-enter Time Machine.  Do not select anything in the Finder window, but navigate to the backup you want via the Timeline.  The Finder windows will show one folder for each disk or partition that was included in each backup  (there are some samples in Troubleshooting item #E3).  If you want to restore the entire disk/partition, select all the top-level folders and restore to an alternate location, per question #16.

  • ABAP QUERY taking much time after ERP Upgrade from 4.6 to 6.0

    Hi All,
I have an ABAP QUERY which uses the INFOSET INVOICE_INBOUND and the USER GROUP InvoiceVerif. The INFOSET is using the tables RBKP and RSEG connected using a JOIN on BELNR and GJAHR fields.
The query was working fine in 4.6 C Version.  Now the system has been upgraded to 6.0 version.
Now it takes so much time that the processing is not getting completed. Do we have to make any changes to the existing queries for an upgrade?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Gautham.

Did u regenrated the query & Infoset & Program  before transporting it to ECC6.0?

  • Mac pro slows down after RAM uppgrade ASP (its my workstation)

I have an mac pro (first 8core released back in 2007) and i uppgraded it from 4 to 8 gig of ram. After the upgrade it became slower so I installed snow leopard since it should handle ram and multicores better but that didnt help. Its like it go from sleepy to extreme slow. Like an photoshop image that should take 12 seconds to load took 10min!! So its somethin fishy.
    The old configration
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 1: 1 GB
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 2: 1 GB
    DIMM Riser B/DIMM 1: 1 GB

    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 4: 0 GB

Does 2007 have 4 memory chips as ideal as 2006 had? Can the macstore give me bad compatible rams (i asked for orginal mac ram memmorys). If this could make it go slow. Mabe snow leapord helped out to slow it down but I worked one and half day before I uppgraded to snow leopard and it was already slow.
This is on my worskstation so its Asp. Is there any heros here?
(ok I will test to take out the ram and se if everything goes back to normal but still I would like to get it to work)
    Cheers
    Joel

"need" is something that is "recommended" for symmetrical memory performance.
It shouldn't run any different really.
    I always recommend this:
try with just the new RAM
    put highest density in A1:A2
It is symmetrical, sort of, as 4x1GB in slots 1:2 on both Risers.
My take: doesn't play nice or get along with original 4GB; marginal; and ideal is 4 x 2GB; second best 8 x 1GB. 6 DIMMs is the worst configuration AFTER not having enough.
I'd wipe out your swap files; clone your drive - if you haven't done so in six months you should, also if moving to a new OS, DEFINITELY either
    Clean install on new/2nd drive (great excuse for new fast drive);
Clone and then upgrade (worst scenerio)
Clean install followed by running Migration Assistant for everything except applications.
Don't want to have issues with new OS, new drivers, AND new hardware (even RAM) and a new OS isn't going to fix a problem, just add new ones. And TEST a new OS before you commit yourself (reason for backups and clones and the like).
Also, run Disk Warrior on fresh clone before you use it.
What you do, why, you probably did need more RAM, 4GB is pretty basic and not even enough for pro apps like graphic editing.
Watch RAM temps and run AHT Extended Loop briefly.
I'd watch for bad blocks and disk sectors; re-initialize drives, even install some new ones: WD 10K V-Raptor for system and another for scratch; Samsung 1TB F3 for data.... something like that if it has been 2+ yrs.

  • PC slows down after a while when running labview application

I have a labview 6 application which is monitoring some data on a feildpoint module, after a while this application slows down and there is a lot of activity on the hard disk drive, also the cpu monitor says 100% activity.
Is it something to do with the PC or is it some other reason?
    Thanks
    Allan

    Allan,
My first guess is "Who know's" without seing your VI and probing around; but, to get you started, run your VI and use Labview's tool "Profile VIs..." [Tools... Advanced...] and monitor memory and timing statistics. You may find a constantly increasing use of memory or a VI that consumes an unusual amound of processor time. Then you can troubleshoot from there.
    Good luck with it, Doug

  • Completed all Troubleshooting steps but continue to get slow downs from unresponsive scripts on Firefox. Is there a way to use my browser w/out slow downs?

    Mac OSX.
I've gone through the list of troubleshooting tips for slow downs and for unresponsive scripts. I continue to get slow downs to my computer and browser when I use my Firefox. It is becoming so bad that sometimes I cannot get work done.

And now, I think I've identified part of the issue. When you pin tabs as an app tab, this slows down Firefox in all the ways I mentioned. Please, please Firefox, if you are going to offer such a useful and simple thing, make sure that it works...
Having closed these App Tabs, I had a temporary break from the slow downs... Then after another few minutes, the slow downs in Firefox continued... At my wits end.
