After finally getting my imac from fedex, cannot get past the Update Apple ID and to use ICloud I have to change my app id. okay, but the red keeps saying that email address is already being used. is it because I am on the apple site on a netbook pc?
On the Update Apple ID screen to use ICloud, I get a red message that email address is already being used. It does not accept my email address? I do not understand what the screen is asking me. Is this because I am using the apple ID on a netbook for this note or what.
Is there a way to bypass this screen if I don't want to use ICloud? I don't want to screw up the original setup of my imac. If I could get to the desktop, then I would know what OS and programs are in my machine.

Let's try this -
To help you better I will need to know the following; What printer do you have? Please include complete printel model.
It may help later if you let me know what (OS) Operating system you are using.

Before you try any troubleshooting steps do the following;
- Erase all cookies and browsing history.
- Do not include signatures in your email.
- Restart the computer.
I will also take the following general steps to ensure that this is not creating an issue.
- Set an Static IP address to the printer. Depending on your printer model will be the procedure to do this.
- Use Google public DNS servers which are 8.8.8.8 and alternate Server is 8.8.4.4 the way you set this is
Also this is what I heard from other members of the forum.
I heard here (other members of the community) that there is an issue that engineer are working on diligently that may be affecting this particular process. At the same time I know that other members have some success using this steps aforementioned.

Are you trying to call yourself to test FaceTime? If so, you must have a second E-Mail address registered with your Apple ID. In other words, there must be a different E-Mail address on each unit.

When i try to log in on my Iphone 3G it won't accept my id and says i need a email address which it won't accept as it says it is already in use
However it does recognise my id without a email address on the laptopI get the feeling you are not just trying to log into icloud, but are trying to create a new ID.
Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account (if there's one already that you are logged into). Then log in with the desired ID. -
Ipod needed to be replaced because of a bad display. Now I can't get into Facetime. At the Apple store no one said I should sign out before I handed the old iPod over to them...

My current Apple ID, for which all of my content has been downoaded (e.g., music, apps) is associated with a work email address that I will no longer have access to in the near future. In my Apple ID account, I noticed I had two alternate emails listed, one is my .me account and the other is my .gmail account. I use my .gmail account, and it is the primary email I use with friends and family. I noticed both were not verified, and when I tried to, it said they were both associated with other accounts. I was able to log into a separate Apple ID account I must have set up at tone point with my .gmail, and I changed the email address to a new one I created. I also deleted the gmail account from any other Apple-relted account I could think of. I am still gettgin the same error message when I try to add it to my current Apple ID: "This email address is already in use or you may already have an Apple ID associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID."
My concern is this: with FaceTime and now iMessage, it seems more important than ever that I am able to use my correct email address. With iOS5 beta, I cannot enter either my .gmail or.me accounts under "You can be reached for messages at:" as I get an error stating: Unable to verify email because it is already in use."

I just spoke with a technician at Apple. I hsven't been able to verify because the wife has the phone. but he said all that you need to do is:
1) Go to Settings --> iTunes Store and login with your Apple ID and pwd
2) Go to Settings --> iCloud and login with your Apple ID and pwd

Using FaceTime
Once configured and enabled on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Mac, FaceTime will automatically receive incoming calls from other FaceTime users as long as your iOS device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, or your Mac is connected to the Internet—the latter in any way.
Outgoing FaceTime calls must be initiated by selecting a contact in your address book—there is no means to manually dial a FaceTime phone number or e-mail address. This means that anybody you wish to contact via FaceTime must be in your address book.
To place calls to a FaceTime user on an iPhone, you must use their cellular phone number. An iPhone cannot register for FaceTime with an e-mail address. This may be a little out of date, as you can now register an email address for an iPhone I believe, but the address should be unique to the iPhone. -
What should i do if my new email address is already been used for an apple ID?
I have updated my itunes account with my new email address and I obviously want any further emails from apple or itunes to be sent to my new email address but I can't add my new email address s my primary email address as I'm getting a message to say "the email address you entered is already being used for an apple account. If it is yours, you can cancel and sign in using that apple account".
