After first installing itunes,"agree, etc" page pops up for1 sec then gone
After I install the Ipod updater and Itunes just like the instructions tell me to, I go for the first time to open itunes. Then i see a page that has " Accept, and like 2 other buttons on the bottom that has a list of agreements on it. (This is after I install the itunes.)
So this page pops up for only one second, then goes away. I keep clicking the itunes, and it keeps doing the same thing. I already installed itunes over and over, and every time, the same thing.
please help.
hi Casper!
I've actually had people come to me and ask me about this. It's software interference...
if the people using that advice find that they have to disable six-letter and four-letter startup items that don't turn up any hits when they Google on "[name-of-item] start-up" (the start-up item names are randomly generated on each PC) then the software interference is by malware, and the MSCONFIG technique will often only give temporary relief.
(the license screen "flash" is the classic symptom of the malware issue (though it's not universal), although strictly speaking the similar Quicktime launch "flash" is the issue. almost all the QuickTime-based applications can get taken down by this on an infected PC, including itunes.)

I had Itunes on my PC (Windows Vista, 64-bit) and it worked fine with my Ipod. I purchased an Ipod nano, and it was not recognized by Itunes and I was instructed to un-install and re-install. After un-installing Itunes, I am unable to reinstall. I receive the following error message: microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.050727.6195".publickeytoken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b".processorarchitecture="x86". HRESULT: 0x80070424.
I am also having trouble with Windows Updates, and receive the same error message: 80070424. Perhaps the 2 issues are related?
If anyone is able to help resolve the issue so I can successfully install Itunes, I would greatly appreciate it!I ran the sfc /scannow command, and yes the response was: Windows Resource Protection could not start with the repair service.
A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
After uninstalling/installing itunes ( there was a problem with an upgrade) the following window appears on my account page
16 MS-DOS Subsystem
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction CS:05aa IP: 0480 OP:6300 72006f Choose close to terminate application. Neither close or ignore works. I don't know where to turn for help I'm using Windows 7. ThxHi there,
I am also experiencing this problem, but with 1.4.2_06. Last week (late Jan 2005) the dynamic versioning was working fine, downloading and installing the latest version of Java as required.
However now (early Feb 2005), I am finding that after downloading the latest version of Java and beginning the install, I am getting this error.
I was hoping that you may have heard of a cause or solution for this problem?
Many thanks -
E and F drives disappear after I install iTunes and Quick Time
Whenever I install iTunes/Quick Time on my computer, my E and F drives "disappear" and I have no way of accessing them or playing CDs/DVDs. The only way I know how to get them back is to restore my computer to an earlier date. When I do that, I no longer have iTunes/Quick Time on my computer. My computer is an HP Pentium 4 with Windows XP.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? It drives me crazy and I can't update my iPod Shuffle very often because of what I have to go through to get my drives back when I'm done. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.First since you have done restores, you need to goto microsofts windows update site and update windows. Then goto the PC makers site and install all updates for your model, especailly BIOs IDE controller and CD/DVD ROM updates.
After that install itunes.
Then rightclick "My COmputer" hit Manage>Device manager and see if theres a "Code 41" error message showing beside your CD DVD Drives -

After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds. I have uninstalled it 3 times and re installed it. Still happening. I have taken my computer to get looked at and there is nothing wrong with it.
After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds.
That suggests damage to the GEAR drivers, but we'd better doublecheck.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". (If you're running iTunes 11.0.x you'll need to bring up your menu bar first to see the Help menu.) Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.) -

After I install itunes on my windows 7 - 64 bit machine it will not reboot and I need to restore to a date before itunes was install. How do I fix this?
I'm having a very similar issue, paired with iTunes not being able to get online.
iTunes shows up in processes and then hangs at 17,000 K or so -- sometimes it will start up, but that (if it occurs) is a delay of literal hours.
Pretty meticulously went through all the 'cannot connect' trouble shooting, and have uninstalled, restarted, and then reinstalled every piece of apple software; issue is just as firm. Starting in safe mode or admin mode don't fix it; signing in as a different user doesn't fix it. -
After I install iTunes 10.5.2 and open iTunes a window opens stating "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." This happens everytime.
After that on one occasion a window stated "Itunes msi) was missing. Upon uninstalling and reinstalling that disapeared. Now I get a window stating, (A required Itunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall Itunes.(_42404)"To fix registry, refer to this article:
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes

After recently installing itunes on my new PC running windows 8, the CD/DVD drives no longer works, gives a code 19 message. Seems itunes is impacting the registry of the DVD drive. What is best solution to keep running itunes normally in the future & get the CD/DVD drive working again? if I delete the upper / lower registry keys what other functions are impacted? I see others say itunes asks for a reinstall...then same problem all over again! THX
Have you revieved this support document?
TS2308: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.

i got a new lenovo desktop windows 8.1,installed itunes and synced my iphone 4 no problems. then i imported a cd of songs which showed up in recently added but not in main library ,therefore it did not sync to the iphone. how can i get new songs to appear in the main library and sync properly
thanks
johnCheck the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.
