Yep. I upgraded my bios recently to 1.56 and windows didn't come up anymore (except in safemode).  It took a while before I find out it was my Matrox G550 driver which caused the problem. I also tried it with the latest Matrox driver, but no go  .
Hi mozzer00 where did you find this bios i'm running on the 1.5x version and with this bios I don't get any display while booting or after that with my Parhelia.

  • Boot Camp Windows 7 Black Screen After Graphic Driver Installation

    Hi,
I have MacBook air (2012 model i think). I tried to install windows 7 64 bit using bootcamp. On the first windows boot and before installing boot camp drivers windows was fine. After installing bootcamp drivers and windows restart the windows came up to a black screen and stuck forever. When I uninstall graphic driver (intel HD 4000), windows is good again. Tried to reinstall different graphic drivers versions - didn't work. searched internet everywhere and didn't find any solution.
    please help!

I have solved this issue now but seem to have encountered another one. I solved the above issue simply by keep on trying time and time again, partitioning the hard drive and trying to install windows 7.
Anyway, I have encountered this error: windows setup could not apply the configuration set. The WINDOWS folder cannot be found.
    Please help!

i have the same problem. It looks like graphic card stopped working in SVGA mode, it is possible to boot Windows by enabeling VGA mode or choosig save mode on F8 screen. Reinstalling drivers didn`t help. Even reinstalling Windows didn`t help:(

  • Satellite M70-193: graphic driver installation - minimum requirements issue

I cannot Install Driver on my M70-193, this meesage is coming " this system does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will exit. what can i do ??Thankss..

    Hi
    Very strange ?:|
How did you try to install the graphic driver and what graphic driver did you try to install???
You should use the on from the Toshiba page.
I would recommend downloading firstly the graphic driver.
Then go to the device manger and remove (uninstall) the graphic card from the system.
After new reboot the OS should find automatically the new device and would ask to start the installation.
In this case you should follow the installation procedure and install the new downloaded driver.
    good luck
    bye

  • Fresh Win7, freeze while rebooting after video driver installation

Yesterday when I opened my laptop it froze while booting when the Win7 logo appears. Rebooted in safemode, all was good, didn't know what to look for exactly.
Today, I decided it was time for a new Win7 reinstall so I did it. Also, did a complete format of my SSD where I keep only my OS.
While it was rebooting after installing the AMD video driver it froze again, in the same spot. Restarted the laptop, chose last known good config and noticed in device manager that one of the video cards had error 43 (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43))
I tried to install the driver for Intel then, but I got an error saying my laptop does not have the minimum requierments (even for older versions of the driver)
I tried every possible combination of installing, uninstalling, enabling, disabling one of the cards.
When I install the AMD driver, the Intel driver installs itself too.
When I leave AMD graphics  enabled, it freezez at Win7 logo while booting,
When I disable AMD and leave just Intel enabled, then it boots normally, but right after the reboot, device manager shows them both with yellow triangle and "!" with error "This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14)", and of course, if I reboot then it freezes again.
I have already spent 10h on this and couldn't find a way to fix it.

    Hi
Using Advanced boot options  ( F8 at start up )  go into Safe Mode with Command prompt , Once Safe mode loads with command prompt type      rstrui.exe           hit Enter   ....        This will take you into  System Restore ...  Follow the onscreen instructions to Restore your system to the time  before the AMD driver was installed .    You can choose from multiple restore points  if they have been created by you or your system .
                                                      Post me your Findings

  • Graphic driver installation problems - Qosmio G20 PQG21

Attempting to install latest graphic driver (available on the toshiba u.k. site) produces an error message that file NV4_mini.sy is unreadable, although it is clearly there. Any ideas?
I've tried downloading several times and unzipping into various locations. Incidentally, do toshiba have any technical support at all, or is it left to their customers to provide it for each other for free - they don't seem to have any method of contact on their site?

Thanks for your suggestions, which I will try. In answer to your questions. The driver is the correct one according to Tosiba and the model ID is clearly marked on the underside of the laptop.
The problem appears to revolve around the installer's inability to recognise a required file although there is a file of the correct name in the download. It would be nice if Toshiba addressed thid issue - wouldn't it? I am aware of the installation procedure for .zip file downloads - the problem is not in this area.

  • Re: Graphic driver installation on Satellite L350-20Q

From my fixed PC, I have downloaded and unzipped the graphic driver for my Toshiba Satellite L350-20Q on an USB key seen as disk m: .
The installation_readme.txt says 'enter the "Graphics" subdirectory. Locate and highlight the
"igdlh.INF"...Click on the "Open" button. ' but the only *.inf in m:\DriTosh\Graphics\ is kit14212.inf ...
    Please clarify and correct readme.

To be honest I think you should install original recovery image and test functionality with factory settings. It is definitely best way to check if there is some problem or not.
Anyway, I believe you try to install this display driver. Download it and copy to the desktop. After doing this all you must do is to start setup.exe. thats all.

  • Monitor tearing after graphics driver install

Am I right in assuming that your read the wiki about installing and configuring ATI catalyst driver?
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI_Catalyst
There is a xorg.conf file and you may wish to read through the troubleshooting sections of the article.

  • Graphics driver incorrect/causing crash?

I recently installed a Radeon HD 5870 graphics card and every once in a while, as I'm working on the computer, the screen goes grey.
Sometimes it's static, sometimes it's just a plain grey field, and sometimes it's grey with a bunch of vertical lines.
I'm not really up on graphics hardware, but I'm wondering if I don't have the right graphics driver for the 5870.
I checked on the available drivers for this card and apparently they only go up to Tiger and I'm using 10.6.8.
    Any ideas?

Run iStatPro or Temperature Monitor and see if there is a correlation.
    2007 MacPro2,1 ? FBDIMMs and heat w/ 8-core (very few 3GHz 2008s out there)
The 5870 would be overkill in price/performance etc for pre-2008s.
    Radeon 5870 5770 2006 Mac Pro
And there are issues sometimes not just with flashed versions. Really helps if you know enough to know what hardware. Like even Mac model etc.

  • Satellite Pro A120: I have problems with the graphics driver installation for W2k

I have installed windows 2000 on an A120 the system is fully service packed and up to date before I even begin installing the required drivers I am unable to restart the system. Once I install the drivers as recommended I have problems with the graphics driver as it will not install because it requires a restart and then I am unable to install any new programs that require a restart as the driver has not installed correctly.
The laptop is a A120 Pro, 1 week old and came with XP home, because of this toshiba will not offer me support as I have changed the O/S even though they obviously support 2000 on this laptop as they supply the drivers.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the reason the driver is not working is down to a problem with the windows 2000 not having the ability to reboot.
When you select restart the system appears to power down then stays switched on. Now if I try to install software I get an error saying that the system needs to complete a restart to finish the install of the driver.
The restart problem happens as soon as win2k is installed as although I have now shipped the laptop to the sales team I have another one which has just had a clean install of win2k without any drivers and the fault is present on this one.
I am thinking it could be to do with power management but I'm not to sure as I have never come across this as I normally purchase machines which accept just about any O/S.

  • Mac OS X crashes after hard drive installation

I just recently installed a new Hard Drive in my iBook G4. I noticed that after I installed OS X 10.4.2 the OS started crashing every time it booted. Ive done an APPLE HARD WARE TEST to see if my iBook was Ok & it was. I did an upgrade from 10.4.2 to 10.4.11 & the OS still crashes. I formated the drive & installed UBUNTU LINUX 7.10 to see if UBUNTU would crash, I was thinking it might be the drive that is defective, but no. Ubuntu linux runs great with no issues, the drive I installed is a HITACHI drive model:HTS541616J9AT00 & OS X 10.4.11 crashes always. WHY? ANY IDEAS?
    Message was edited by: isaisos

Jup they are the installation disks that came with my ibook g4, & I have done that before,What u just said. The OS will crash during the boot, but sometimes im able to use my mac for a while then it crashes. I was thinking it was the HARD DRIVE but no, at this moment my ibook g4 is running UBUNTU LINUX with no issues. The hard drive is a hitachi drive, the support website says it needs no DRIVERS for the iBook. It has to be the OS not supporting my drive??? maybe??

  • Freezing Windows after Apple driver installation

    Hi,
I'm having some strange issues after I install Boot Camp. The Windows install goes fine, but after I install the Apple drivers that came on the 10.5 install disk and restart, Windows freezes a few seconds after getting to the desktop and remains unresponsive. I have to then do a hard reboot. The disk checks out ok in chkdsk, but I'm not sure where to go from here to get a functional Windows partition. Any ideas on what I can check or try to get this to work?
    Thanks!

The divers Apple provides, for whatever reason, are the problem. It's not any particular device driver, because when I load each driver individually by cancel install, explore the DVD to Dirvers, and double click on the ones I need making sure to click the ones with 'XPinstall' in them. I don't know what the other set does, so I'm leaving it alone. Now it works like a charm. The problem is when it goes an installs the bit that puts the Control Panel on. Removing that (yea parallels!) makes the system operational again. BTW, It looks like the 2.1 update changes the Visual C++ redistributable.
So now Windows works fine, but I don't have my nifty key bindings or the Boot Camp Control Pannel. Any ideas?

Hi all, in answer to the above suggestions:
No the 10g database and listener is completely down (no services belonging to the new 10g database are running). I checked also alle the logs, but no messages anymore since saturday.
What I did notice: Oracle92HTTPserver (a service normally started automatically) does not start. When I start it, it gives me a message that there is nothing to do and that the service therefore is not started. So the HTTP-server itself is not working anymore. I can't find any files changed by th installation in the Ora92 home Apache directories. All seems as it was before the installation And still it won't start....
Does anybody have other suggestions? Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jan.

  • Sound no longer working after graphics card installation

    Okay, so my problem is:
I recently added a graphics card to my windows 8.1 PC. The card itself works fine (a GTX 750Ti), but since installing it my sound no longer works from either port. Things I have already tried:
    Rebooting (obviously)
Taking the card out and then replacing it
Going through all the control panel audio settings (more on this later)
Disabling the HDMI audio on the card
Trying different (provably working) speakers and headphones
Updating/installing drivers (not that you need them for headphones)
The "playback devices" screen declared that nothing whatsoever is plugged in (it is). I'm concerned I might have damaged something during installation, but nothing seems obviously damaged, and I would have expected static to either do no damage
or wipe out the entire motherboard. The back port is working, so it isn't the cable. My monitor output is HDMI (with no speakers on the monitor), if that makes any difference.
    Penny for anyone's thoughts?

The back port is working, so it isn't the cable.
I’m confused as to what this means. If you have audio via the ports on the back of the computer but not in front ports you may have damaged the front audio cable or connection on the motherboard
or at the front ports. Find the HD Audio (or AC’97) port on your motherboard and verify that the cable is connected and intact, then follow this cable forward to your front audio ports. If you stressed this cable by tugging or pushing, it could have damaged
the connection to the front ports. Sometimes these ports are connected by a header like the motherboard and this connection could have come loose.

  • Windows 7 will only boot in safe mode after Bootcamp Driver Installation

Help! I recently installed Windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.4. Everything runs smoothly until I restart the machine following the installation of the Bootcamp Drivers. Upon restart, I am told that Windows "was not able to shut down successfully." I can restart in safe mode but cannot seem to fix the problem. I assume it is related to one of the Bootcamp drivers but which one? Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to install the Bootcamp drivers in order to run windows successfully? Thanks so much!

BEFORE you installed anything off OS X DVD, you did have Windows running, right?
So it was crippled but somewhat functional. And it is possible to create a standard user account, a 2nd admin account. Just as one backup, I understand that doesn't really help.
Same with backing up Windows 7 to an external drive, making a system restore image.
And you can copy the Apple drivers to a folder in Windows and use Troubleshoot Compatibility Mode and install individually (they aren't one program or package, they are in
Apple\Drivers\ for one and people using 64-bit have to use that to run Bootcamp64.msi using Compatibility Mode.
When you started and titled "will boot in safe mode" that sounded like you could boot and login.
Using external wired keyboard and mouse is what some people have had to do until they got proper drivers.
    Would be nice if:
Windows had more drivers and Apple would ship a set to be included in Windows 7 SP1; drivers worked! And could be downloaded and installed directly into Windows, and no need for old 3.0 and then 3.1 but go directly to latest (and new Macs do have improved 3.0 drivers, which are on 10.6.4 DVDs).
