iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

How crap is that?
It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer.

Hi. You might have a memory problem. With one or more of your ram being bad. If this is so you can try removing the ram one at a time and try to restart . You can also switch ram slots to make sure ifs not the ram slot. Before you do this try a pram reset. Command/Option/P/R holding down these keys while starting up for three chimes. Also a SMC reset.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768

Do you have Parallels installed by any chance?  There is a known problem that causes symptoms similar to this.  You do not need to actually be running Parallels at the time and nothing in ActivityMonitor would point to Parallels.  An update corrects the problem:

I have a lot of music on my ipod from CD's I own. I want this music on my new iphone 4s. Because music was not purchased via itunes, it will not allow me to transfer the music. Is there a way around this?

You can transfer music imported from cd's to your iphone.  This has never been a restriction.
You are having a problem in your individual case.
Have you tried basics fro the manual?  restart, reset, restore.

If i had to guess, I would say prosessor stress is to blame.  When you are running a virtual machine, it borrows resources from the host to run the guest OS.  The CPU, however, is prioritized Host first, then guest second.  With a 27" display connected via Display Port. that is a larger strain on the processor.   Honestly, on my 23" iMac, I see a WORLD of difference between the speed of the host and the speed of the guest.  That is just something you live with on virtual machines, nothing compares to hardware.     I'm sorry I dont have a better answer, but that is all I have.

  • Printing problems with new Macbook Pro and Canon I9900

I would like to know why my printed output on the Canon I9900 is showing up much darker than the image shown on the screen. I have installed the latest driver from Canon and am still having this problem. I have tried the different Colorsync profiles listed for the Canon and have not seen any improvement. I am using 4x6 matte paper by Kodak and have selected the correct paper type and settings.
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi there,
I would like to know why my printed output on the
Canon I9900 is showing up much darker than the image
    shown on the screen.
The answer to your question is simple; colour on a monitor is made differently than colour on a printed image. Monitors combine Red, Green and Blue (RGB) in a process called Additive colour while printers use Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK) with a process known as Subtractive colour. The matching of what you see on the screen to what you get printed is a time consuming (and expensive) process and often subject to a users preference.
For the home user this process is often too complicated. If you accept that what you see is not what you will get then half the battle will be won. However, that doesn't mean that you cannot get good output on your printer. A number of applications give you the ability to adjust your output. You just need to experiment with a number of settings to get a 'workflow' that you prefer. If you can tell me which application you are using to print from I may be able to offer some values that will help.

  • Problem with my Macbook Pro and D-Link 615 Wireless Router

Supposedly other people have had similar issues but the router doesn't seem to "like" my Macbook Pro. If i connect the mac to the modem, it runs beautifully on the internet. When I try to connect via Airport or Ethernet to the router, the internet refuses to work and connections are never completely established. The wireless doesn't work but it will find the wireless internet signal but no matter what, it won't connect. The ethernet cable says that it is connected but "may not be able to access the internet" which it can't. What in the world do I do?

I am having similar problems. I have updated firmware, set the router to g-only broadcast, have WPA personal security, tried the power down technique. What I'm experiencing is that the macbook will see the network, connect to it, browse web pages, but will only go to a certain point. IE-it will load facebook, let me log into my page, but after that anything I click on(check messages, check friend's pages) it gives me a lost connection to server error after a few minutes. Same thing with my forum group webpage. It'll let me log in and view all the forum posts, but when I try to reply to one it times out. Also cannot connect using MSN messenger for mac.

  • Problems with using Macbook Pro and Cinema Displayscreen

I have a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard (too scared of what happened to my wifes Mac using Lion). I have Parallels on it with windows 7. I use that to run Autocad LT. I have the Macbook connected to a 27" Cinema Display.
If I boot up the Windows environment to use Autocad on just the Macbook Pro it takes about 1 minute. If connected to the Cinema display then it can take 5-7 mins. as well Autocad can be sluggish and slow to respond to commands.
Can anyone tell me why and if this can be solved?

  • Problems with Retina Macbook pro and time machine backup

I was able to successfully copy over data from myn old macbook to the new pro via a time machine backup.  But now can not get it to use the time machine to start creating backups.  I have tried with two different time machines (home and office) and on both I am getting the same error: unable to create sparse bundle.  Tried updating the airport firmaware reboot etc, any ideas?

    Here is the actual error:
The backup disk image “/Volumes/Test/new mac book.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1).

  • Problems With my macbook pro, and can the apple genuis bar fix these?

Well. Many things. I was wondering how I can fixan arsenal of things. Including, my screen connector, because the colors are off and the pixels. My microphone, my fans, my speeakers and yeah.

Nobody here can diagnose hardware remotely if multiple problems,.....much less cost.
LIke Guru Kappy said,....make a call for service / diagnostic.

  • I am experiencing some major problems with my MacBook Pro. I have had some issues with it turning on/off at random times, but today, when starting, I get the grey start-up screen and a recovery bar. After filling in approx 1/4 of the way, the machine dies

I am experiencing some major problems with my MacBook Pro. I have had some issues with it turning on/off at random times, but today, when starting, I get the grey start-up screen and a recovery bar. After filling in approx 1/4 of the way, the machine dies. After starting it in recovery mode, it will not allow me to download OS X Mavericks- it says the disk is locked. Any ideas? I do not have a back-up and do not want to erase everything before I have explored my options. Help?

try forcing internet recover, hold 3 keys - command, option, r - you should see a spinning globe
most people will tell you to do both pram and smc resets (google) and if you still have issues, either clean install (easy) or troubleshoot (hard)

Drag the folders to the external drive, and if prompted, click Authenticate. You'll probably be asked for an administrator password.

  • TS4083 My folders that message rules divert emails to don't update when I open Mail on my iPad or iPhone. Only the inbox does. I have to click on each folder for it to update. Is there a way around this? The folders update on my mac fine when i check mail

My folders that my message rules on iCloud divert emails to don't update when I open Mail on my iPad or iPhone. Only the inbox does. I have to click on each folder individually for it to update. A real pain as I have about 30 folders. Is there a way around this ? The folders update on my mac fine when i check mail without having to select each one of them. Can the iPad and iPhone do the same thing?

My Mac has 4 mail accounts coming into it, but you are correct, one of them is a POP account, (and unfortunately it is the main @ account, and is the one associated with my apple id, since we've had it for years).  I couldn't figure out how to replace this with the Imap version, short of deleting that account entirely.
Is this what I have to do?
    Thanks for your help!

  • I have the Mac Os 10.4.11, and iTunes store will no longer come up on my screen to order tunes.  A download screen appears for the new iTunes. I can't download the new iTunes unless I get the new operating system for my mac.  Is there a way around this?

I have an iMac with a 10.4.11 operating system.  When I click on iTunes Store, I no longer get the iTunes screen, instead, I get a new iTunes download screen.
I can't download the new iTunes without upgrading my operating system.  Is there a way around this problem without buying the new operating system?
I haven't been able to download songs for awhile now.

which version of iTunes are you on ? if it's earlier than iTunes 9.2.1, get it here.
