After I did Partition on my windows, I lost my mac os on booting option

Hello everyone i need help,

Then I restart my mac, and try to press option, I still see the mac os option
But after I partition my disk (the bootcamp disk) i seen 3 accessible disk in my computer
Because i dont like it, i try to delete the partition letter,( I did not formated it!)
After that I want to get back to my mac os, but after i restarted my mac, i cant find my mac os in option
I still can see the partition for apple in disk management, but it doesn't show in startup
Please help, thanks for ur reply
Sorry if my English is bad

You can't partition a Boot Camp partition. Nor can you add a third partition to a disk containing a Boot Camp partition. If this is what you did you have messed up your hard drive configuration. You will have to erase your drive, format your drive, reinstall OSX, then run Boot Camp Assistant to create a new Boot Camp partition, then install Windows.

  • I have put Windows 8 on my Mac pro, in boot camp, no I am unable to load drivers

I have put Windows 8 on my Mac pro, in boot camp, no I am unable to load drivers to get it working as it should. I have tryed Winows 7 Con, in setup.

Did you download the drivers to a FAT32 formatted USB drive per the instructions?

  • HT4818 Boot from laptop's Windows Hard Drive in Mac Pro via Boot Camp

I have a work laptop that is on Windows 7.  It's a work hard drive so I don't want to mess with it (particularly as it's encrypted).  I basically want to use it on my Mac Pro rather than my piece of junk standard issue laptop when I'm working from home.
What I would like to do is pull the drive out, put it in my Mac Pro and boot from it using Boot Camp.  Guidance I've seen so far talks about not being able to use an external drive but having to partition an internal drive.  However, if I've got everything on a separate drive (i.e. my laptop's drive), will this work?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick (and no nonsense) response!

  • Did the 10.6.8 upgrade, now my mac won't boot up

I have been gone for 3 months, so there was a backlog of updates.  I did them, and now my mac is having boot up issues.  It does the chime, then it does the last note of the chime 3 more times.  The disks are spinning, but it's not fully booting up.  It kind of feels like it's running, but the moniter is not coming on.  But when I do things like press the disk eject button on the keyboard, nothing happens, so I'm not sure if it's coming on or not.
    I greatly appreciate any help.

    Thanks for your help.
I got up and running a few hours after I posted.  Suspecting a display issue, I pulled out my ATI Radeon display card that I just put in a few months ago (I seem to have had nothing but problems ever since I upgraded my moniter), and put in the original card that came with my mac.  Then I disconected all of the peripheals, and it came up doing the slow boot up.  Seems to be working fine now.

  • Windows 8 does not have a USB boot option

QuestionHow can I boot my Windows 8 laptop from a USB device? I created a recovery disk on a USB thumb drive.
    So far I have:
Entered into the UEFI (BIOS) and set USB to boot first.
    Disabled secure boot.
I tried to reboot using the general setup options for startup in the windows settings page. I choose boot from USB through the UEFI, but got an error message that system does not have a USB boot option.
To confirm I also created a bootable DVD with an ISO burner, but my laptop cannot detect a DVD boot option either.
I assumed that the firmware of the UEFI for this computer allowed a bootable USB but in practice I cannot seem to get this work.
AnswerTo assist with not being able to boot from a USB device on a Windows 8 laptop, perform the following:
    Plug in USB bootable device.
Hold down F12 when restarting and access UEFI menu (option is below drive list). If system is set to fast boot, CLICK HERE for instructions on entering the UEFI.
Go to UEFI and make USB "1st boot".
    Disable secure boot.
Go to the "Advance" Tab, select "System".
Change boot order from UEFI to CSM.
    Save changes and exit (F10).
Computer will restart and boot from USB drive.
When finished go back into the UEFI and set defaults then save changes and exit (F10). Windows 8 will reboot normally next reboot.

Done that, only choices are "Set up Firefox to Sync" & "Pair a Device". No ''UNLINK THIS DEVICE". Your turn.

  • Bridge CS6 did not download, PS window over extends below Mac icons at bottom

I subscribed to CS6 and Bridge CS6 is not activated. When I try it takes me back to Bridge CS4. Also, my PS window extends below my laptop icons so that I am not able to see bottom icons from my layers pallet. I've try to get tech support for 3 days. Spending 3 hrs waiting on the phone 1st day, 3.5 hrs on the second(my phone number was taken by contact person but did not received same and today I've waited since 10 am and it's 10:30 pm(via prompter I was told to expect a call back at 11:30 am). I don't understand what is the problem? When I subscribed there was a friendly operator to sign me up without a hassle.

Screenshots tell a lot. I would guess, though, that it works ias it always has - by default, PS will open in fullscreen and if you don't auto-hide your dock and keep it in teh forerground all the tiem, naturally it will interfere with any app running in fullscreen. For Bridge, you can change the associations manualyl in the Bridge prefs and enabling/ disabling the relevant startup scripts.

  • After restart I have to power up several times before Mac Book Pro boots

Just got a new MBP 2.4 GHz with 2 GB ram. It started up fine, but I notice that after restarting (after software updates and the like), I often have to power up several times before it will actually boot up.
When it doesn't boot up, I get a gray screen and the light on the front of the machine blinks 3 times, pasues for about 3 secs then repeats the 3 blinks. It does this until I hit the power button, at which point it will immediately shut off. I wait a few seconds then hit the power button again to start up, if I am lucky it will show me the apple logo and boot up. if I am not lucky, it will do the same 3 blink cycles again.
I've had as many as 10 tries before it would boot up some times. This really ***** because I just bought the machine 1 week before the 2.6 GHz machine were released. Had I even known newer ones were one the radar, I would have waited!!!!
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

ya call apple, but you may want to try resetting pram and SMC (turn off machine take out battery and power adapter hold power button for 5 seconds and ur smc is reset, put it all back turn on and hold command+ optionpr until you hear the 3rd chime and your pram is reset)
apple may also ask you to run an apple hard ware test, take you original gray dvds that came with the machine and boot from it while holding d and run the extended test and see if you get an error. that will help make things go faster if you do all that first before calling apple

I used to be able to access the BIOS settings on my 9040n Pavillion until I instale Windows 8.1. Supposedly, there is an advanced start menu to allow me to make changes, but I never get that option. Any ideas?

  • Why can't I connect to the wi-fi when I log into Windows 8 on my mac? It says no wi-fi networks available.

I cant connect to the network when Im on windows 8!

Did you install the Windows Support software in accordance with the Boot Camp instructions? if you did, then I suggest you visit a Windows forum to troubleshoot wifi connections in Windows. Or, use the Windows help menu for setting up wifi in Windows. And, make sure you provide more info regarding your issue. What happens when you try to connect? What error messages do you get? How is your wifi set up and configured?

Has anyone had any success in installing WIndows 7 onto a Mac Mini via Boot Camp using either a USB stick or an external SuperrDrive?

Option 1: Get a USB "Super Drive" and use it to install windoze.
Option 2: Use Parallels Desktop to run windoze.
Option 3: Wait for someone who knows more than I do to tell you how to do it using magic.

  • Can't boot anything after deleting C partition in order to install Windows 8.1

I have a ASUS X55VD notebook, wich had a Windows 7 64-bit (and a dual booted Ubuntu, but with Windows bootloader). Yesterday I tried to install a Windows 8.1, so I inserted a disc and restarted.
The window to manually select the partition, on wich it will be installed, came up so I formated C partition where Windows 7 was installed. It did not allow me to install to that partition because, a new format (GPT) had to be used. So i chose to delete the
partition. Deleting was quite long, after wich the computer restated, and after that it only showed black screen.
The Windows DVD is still spinning, but nothing shows. Can't acces the BIOS (none of the keys work).
    Tried:
    - Hardware reset (battery out>hold power button fro 10-20 sec>put battery inside>start) - No change
    - Put a Live Linux DVD to boot from it - No change
    - Put a hirens boot cd - No change
    - USB boot - No change
    - Connect a external keyboard and tried accessing BIOS - Nothing happened
I would suffice with just gettng some of my data from him, and sending him to repair Can't tinker with harware, or it will void my varrancy
Please help. The problem is really urgent.

    Hi,
It seems a hardware issue, you can first try to reset the CMOS - remove the cell battery from the motherboard for at least half hour, re-insert it, boot up. The BIOS settings should be reset to defaults. But for better solution, I
     suggest you contact the manufacture.

  • How to restore OSX after I add another drive in window partition?

I installed Windows 7 using Bootcamp one month ago and it worked fine.
Today, I decided to make another drive in Windows partition.(I din't know I could not make another drive.)
So, I shrank C drive and made E drive using disk manager in Windows.(I could not choose D drive)
After I did that, I saw that OSX partition was gone and G and H drives were made.
I no longer see boot option to select OSX or Windows when I boot.
I can only select Windows. I can not boot to OSX.
    How can I restore OSX?
I don't want to lose data in Mac.

    Do a backup.
The first thing you need to do is sort out which partition has what on it and how many partitions you want to keep.. Then boot into the Recovery Volume (command - R or hold down option key) and restart. Use Disk Utility to set the number of partitions you want. If everything is really messed up, you might want to erase the entire disk and then reset the partitions. I would run Disk Utility Repair Permissions and Verify before installing. Then reinstall the OS on the partition you want. If you erase the drive then reinstall Boot Camp/Windows.
