After I double click to install google earth, nothing happens.

How do you really install Google Earth? I've downloaded multiple times, double clicked to install many times, looked in the Finder, the library, launched Safari - but it is nowhere to be found.

Instead of double clicking on the downloaded Icon in the open Finder window, click on and drag the Google Earth Icon to your Applications Folder.

iBooks can not be read on macs, only on iDevices.

  • After updating, I click on the icon and nothing happens. I am unable to find a solution in your "help" section.

Last time I updated Friefox, all of my bookmarks and saved pages were gone. I was hesitant to update again. However, after repeated messaged to do so, I did. Now when I click on the Firefox icon, nothing happens. No page opens...nothing.
    I'm running Windows 7.

Last time I updated Firefox, all of my bookmarks and saved pages were gone.
If you have unsaved open pages you may loose them on a Firefox upgrade but you should not normally loose your bookmarks, unless for instance you do a new install and take one of the options that deletes personal information.
I suggest as a precaution you back up your Firefox profile. This is something that is easier to do whilst Firefox is able to run; and it is good practice to do this periodically anyway; but it can still be done even when Firefox is not able to be run.
    * for instructions have a look at [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
    * put the backup files and folders somewhere safe, where they may be found easily, but outside the Firefox program or profile paths. (Your Windows 7 Desktop is a suitable location).
Now when I click on the Firefox icon, nothing happens. No page opens...nothing.
Firefox not starting after an upgrade is often caused by firewalls or security programs either not recognising the new Firefox as being safe, or else blocking or even reversing changes made to your system and browser.
Have a look at your security software and the security settings.

  • After starting up Windows I double click the Firefox icon and nothing happens. So I have to double click Firefox again and it opens. But now I have 2 open Firefox browsers. What do think makes this happen?

I always have to click on Firefox twice in order for it to open because nothing happens on the first try. The first try never ever works.

I understand that Firefox is no longer working on your Windows Tablet. The development of Metro did stop and has been discontinued. However what version were you on before this started to happen?

  • Click Bootcamp install... nothing happens

    So here's my problem.
I'm running a brand new Macbook Pro (Retina, 15inch, early 2013), and I need to install Windows for work related software.  I purchased a copy of windows 8, which arrived on a CD.  Since the macbook does not have an optical drive I followed the instructions given to me by apple to make an iso image, and transfered that to a usb drive (this was done on a separate computer as I needed an optical drive to make the iso).  I then downloaded the approptiate bootcamp 5 drivers and put those on a second usb drive.
    So far so good.
I launch bootcamp assistant.  I uncheck the first box to make a usb as I already have one, and I also uncheck the second box as I already have downloaded everything I need.  I click continue.  I'm prompted to chose how large I want my Windows partition to be.  I select 60gb, insert my bootable usb drive, and click install.
Nothing happens.  No error, no sound, nothing.  It's as though bootcamp didn't register my clicking the button.
    Some notes:
If I do not have the usb plugged in when I hit install, I get an error message saying "The installer disk could not be found."
Changing the size of the partition does not solve the problem.
I do not have any other devices, wireless or otherwise, connected to the computer when I am attempting the install.
I currently only have one partition, which is OSX.
I have been unable to find a solution to this problem online, as other people reporting the "install button not working" error seem to be able to solve the problem by unplugging another device.  I don't have anything else to unplug.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

I bought a Mac Mini yesterday and need to put Windows on it for work. I made a Win7 ISO and put in on my USB, then copied it from my USB to my OS X desktop and opened BootCamp Assistant. Left the USB plugged in. Made sure nothing else was left on the USB that I wanted, because that's what the Assistant was going to reformat and use to create the proper install media and support files. Left all 3 bootcamp checkboxes checked and followed the instructions to a T. I'm past Windows 7 setup now and into installing Windows support software.
The basecamp instructions are written very well. I think you'll have success if you try again.

  • Double clicked on iTunesSetup.exe, and nothing happens!

That's it. I double clicked on iTunesSetup.exe, and absolutely nothing happens. I checked Task Manager, and it seems that iTunesSetup.exe executes for a brief second or two, then exits.
I checked my Local Settings\Temp folder, and there is a iTunes.exe file in there. I double clicked on it, and it says something like this is not a valid Windows application or something, please contact the vendor.
Please Help! I cannot even start the iTunes installer...

that one may have gotten corrupted during the download. try emptying your TEMP directory, deleting that installer file, and downloading a fresh one. does the new one work any better?

  • Tried to install Mavericks but installation froze.  I tried to go back and click on install button but nothing happens. How can I get Mavericks to install?  I have OSX 10.7.5 currently.

    How can

Check the App Store Purchases tab to see what shows there - it may be paused.
So how do I get another copy of the installer as the install button for mavericks doesn't do anything when I click it?
    Download the installer again.
You can try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account and see if the installer will run there.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

How do I install Google Earth on our new iMac. We tried and nothing happened.

It's distributed as a disk image file. Double-click the file. A disk image will mount. Drag the application in that image to the Applications folder. Eject the image by dragging its icon on the Desktop to the Trash. You can then delete the disk image file.

  • Downloaded an app and now 'double click to install' is showing up like a ghost in the background of my finder windows?

I am a photographer and I downloaded order software from Miller's (ROES software). The software would not install correctly and now when I open a finder window the 'double click to install' is showing up like a ghost from their installation window? Any ideas? TIA

    Hi..
Since it's third party, (non Apple) software, you need to visit the ROES software website for support.

  • Double-click to Install

Has anyone heard of an application called Double-click to Install? It is installed on the main level of the hard drive of an iBook 466. When I launch it, Classic launches. That is very interesting because I do not have OS 9 installed on this computer. Startup Disk shows that there is a folder called System Folder and that if I select it as a start up I will be in OS9.

    Hi eww,
Appearantly the program is a security program used in schools to create a shell around any mac file or program or System Folder to hide it's contents. Everything is totally available, booting into Classic, even booting into OS 9. However, settings cannot be changed and unless you know the password you cannot log in as an admin. You can only log in as a student. Bottom line was to reformat the hard drive and install Tiger doing an Erase & Install. Then I installed 9,2.1, updated to 9.2.2 and everything thing is fine. I just never saw a security program like that.

  • Since installing Google Earth, I cannot upload any photos to any websites. How do I fix this?

I installed Google Earth and now I am unable to upload any photos to any websites (i.e. Facebook, Ebay, etc.). I updated all plugins according to your support page and still cannot upload any photos. Please help with this matter. Thank you for your time.

I'm having exactly the same issue.  This is the first time I've tried to do a bulk upload of photos to Flickr since upgrading to Mavericks.
@Rudegar: SaifMaster said that the old Java single file uploader did work.  This isn't an issue with Java, it could be an issue with Flash on Mavericks though

  • I have installed firefox 3.2.64. When i click on the desktop icon nothing happens. The windows task manager says mozilla firefox is running but I can't see it anywhere. What might the problem be?

    Question
I have installed firefox 3.2.64. When i click on the desktop icon nothing happens. The windows task manager says mozilla firefox is running but I can't see it anywhere. What might the problem be?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Sounds like you downloaded the OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Update or Combo Update. Neither will work on a version of OS X prior to OS X Mavericks. Those are only used to update an existing install of OS X Mavericks. The Combo will update any version from 10.9.0 thru 10.9.4. The Update will only update version 10.9.4.
You need the full installer of OS X Mavericks from the App Store. However, the App Store no longer offers OS X Mavericks. Yosemite is the new FREE OS X.
